37. join the club

Remus had managed to calm Selene down enough that she stopped shaking, which was no easy task. But once she calmed down she sat him down on her bed and helped tend to his bloody hand, from where he beat Theodore's nose in.

Using only what she could find in her room, she disinfected his hand and wrapped it in a clean t-shirt that she never wore. 

"Thank you" he said lovingly after she finished

"Of course"

"C'mon" he said standing up and grabbing the papers and the invisibility cloak he had previous discarded onto the floor, "Let's go to my dorm, I don't want to leave you alone tonight" he kissed her forehead

"I'll be fine Remus really-"

"Nope, let's go" he threw the cloak over him self and opened one side motioning for him to join her. She smirked and joined him under the cloak as the two made their way through the Slytherin common room and out the portrait hole. 

Once they were in the deserted hallway far enough from the Slytherin Common Room, Remus slipped out of the cloak and pretended to walk alone in the hallways, whistling to himself with his hands buried in his pockets. 

Selene followed him under the cloak through the portrait hole and into the Gryffindor common room. It was drastically more warm feeling and welcoming compared to her common room. 

The fireplace warmed the room that was decorated in tapestries and friendly portraits. Students played chess in the corner or studied by the fire. Laughing students filtered in and out of the dorm rooms, as Selene followed Remus up the steps to the marauders dorm. 

James was laying on his bed next to Sirius copying down Peter's Herbology essay for next Monday. The two boys didn't really fit on the small bed so they just awkwardly laid there overlapping one another as they scribbled down the essay onto their own parchment. 

The door opened and Remus stepped in with a white cloth around his hand, 

"Hey lover boy how was your 'study session' with Sel-" James started to tease when Selene revealed herself from under the invisibility cloak, the boy yelped in shock and fell off the side of the bed onto the wooden floor. 

Sirius snorted with laughter and James arose from the floor, 

"Hi Selene" he ran his hand through his messy hair

"Hi James" she laughed

"H-how was your study session" he stuttered clearly embarrassed 

"It was fine" Selene shrugged as her and Remus walked over to his bed 

"Yeah other than the fact that Theodore walked in the middle of it" Remus scoffed

"What?!" the three marauders yelled, and Selene and Remus finally took notice of Peter who was brushing his teeth in the bathroom, this time Sirius fell off the bed with a thud.

"We were, uh, kissing when he came in" Remus scratched the back of his head, sitting down on his bed pulling Selene into this lap as they sat against the headboard

"You two seem really calm right now..." Sirius said uneasily

"Shit did you guys kill him?" Peter asked from the bathroom

"No" Remus laughed, 

"How did he take it then?" James asked, 

"Remus broke his nose" Selene said plainly

"What?!" the three boys chorused again

"Okay, that makes it sound unprompted, he slapped you!" Remus defended
