As for me and my house, we shall serve Jade's 🍑That's it. That's the chapter. ☝🏾🥵

Perrie's POV

Finally!

We finally got our keys and were ready to gtfo! I think Jaden was more excited than anyone, he has been quite literally bouncing off the walls about having a new bedroom since he woke up this morning.

Speaking of waking up... to my surprise, Jade has actually been awake before me the past couple of days with no alarm whatsoever, and I wonder what the hell kind of voodoo it takes to raise the dead like that, and how do I learn it.

I would roll over to wake Jaden up and she would be sitting up in bed with those adorable/sexy glasses, laser focused on her laptop.

Also speaking of... she's been increasingly secretive about whatever it is she does on that thing too. Any time I come near her or ask what she's up to, she'll close it, or tell me she's just on Instagram... which she never is.

And the phone calls haven't stopped either.

Now, instead of her phone just ringing and her leaving the room to answer, she'll also step out to make phone calls, and as she says "send emails". I just really want to know what has gotten her so busy all of a sudden, and if I need to be worried.

We'd just made it back in from dropping Jaden off at school, and Jade was in the backyard on a phone call. All the way in the backyard. I was standing in the kitchen, looking out the window at her.

Every now and again, she'd wave or flash me a smile, but whatever conversation she was having, I could tell she was serious about it, because I could see her occasionally yelling or frowning up.

I didn't want my mind to go there, but I couldn't help but wonder if she could be talking to another woman.

Otherwise, why lie to me?

Soon I got tired of staring at her and overthinking and decided to grab myself a snack.

You trust her. You trust her.

I was rinsing strawberries at the sink when I heard the back door open and close, and felt her presence behind me. She wrapped her arms around me from behind and squeezed. Her warmth alone was enough to melt me.

Any thoughts or doubts I have all fade away when I'm in her arms. I feel loved and protected. And you don't cheat on someone you love. She wouldn't. She couldn't. I'd like to think that I know her, but she's really making it easy to make these assumptions.

"Who was that on the phone?" I couldn't help but ask, still rinsing my strawberries.

I noted that she didn't tense up or get weird and start stuttering or something, like someone who was cheating would. She simply kissed the back of my neck and hugged me again.

"Nobody, babe. Just a creditor." She replied.

Since when do creditors call her, though? Another lie.

Pushing my thoughts away, I relaxed against her and decided to just focus on now. There was a time when I couldn't hold her, and I thought I would never be able to again. I don't ever want to feel that coldness again. So I'm going to hang on tight.

"I was thinking..." She continued as she turned me around only for me to get lost in her eyes.

"Uh oh. Should I get my helmet?" I replied, tossing a strawberry into my mouth.

"Shut up." She laughed. "You don't even own a helmet. I was thinking of taking your cousin up on her offer."

"You think about her a lot?" I raised my brow at her and smiled as I chomped on another strawberry.
