Girl Meets Sexuality

Maya Tells

                             At Topanga's
Maya entered Topanga's and saw her friends sitting down, she was about to sit down when she remembered that she needed to talk to her mom and explain why she didn't show up. Riley saw Maya enter and called Maya over there.

"Maya what took you so long? I was about to head back to school and see if you were still there but Farkle said for me to not worry." Riley told Maya. "Don't worry Riles, I just wanted to talk to Mr. Johnson about art that I'm working on." Maya reassured Riley.

"Well I can't wait to see it once it's finished." Maya grabbed Riley hand and for some reason Riley once again blushed. Maya then remembered she needed to talk to her mom. Maya got up and was going to go behind the counter, but a voice stopped her.

"MAYA PENOPLE HART!" Maya turned around and saw her mom with the angriest expression on her face, Katy was no doubt about to scream but Maya grabbed her mom hand and walked them outside, while everyone in the café stared at them with confused faces.

Maya let go of her mom's hand, "Maya  Penelope Hart! Can you explain to me why you didn't show up at night? Also why did dragged us outside?" Maya took a deep breath and explained everything on bumping into Chai and asking if Maya wanted to hang out, going to Night Hawk and talking all night.

She then told Katy about her sexuality and to please not see her different. Katy stared at Maya with shocked expression, Maya was scared for perhaps her mom won't accept her for who she was. Katy hugged Maya tightly and let go and looked Maya right in the eye.

"Maya thank you for telling me your sexuality and I would never treat you different! You're my baby girl and I accept you for who you are." Maya hugged her mom and cried a little.

"Thank you. Thank you." Maya let go and wiped her tears and smiled, "So tell me about Chai? Do you like her? After all you and Chai talked all night, held hands all night without knowing, gave her your number, decided to go out tomorrow and held her hand again, not to mention she kissed you on the cheek?"

Katy said with teasing tone and mischievous smile, Maya looked down but you could easily notice the blush on her face. Maya then looked up "I don't really know, we just started talking yesterday, besides I don't even know if she's into girls? Not to mention the first time we met was in freshman year and she didn't like Riley, so I'm nervous on what my friends think when I tell them." Maya replied with a confused voice.

Katy hugged Maya once again and smiled. "Maya I know you must be feeling so confused on what your feeling, and how your friends will react. But I think you might be developing a crush on Chai even though you barely know her you talked to her all night. Perhaps she isn't the girl from freshman year because she changed. Remember what Mr. Matthews taught you?" Maya nodded. "People change people. The secret of life."

They hugged once again and walk back inside Topanga's. Katy went to take a costumers order and Maya sat back down next to Riley. All her friends looked at Maya waiting for explanation, Maya looked up and saw her friends with a questioning look. "Don't worry about it guys, everything's fixed. Can we just drop it?"

They all nodded and Maya held Riley's hand and smiled at her and starts to sketch. But what they don't realize was someone staring at them, seeing Riley blush as she looked at Maya holding her hand.

                          The Next day
Today Maya was going to out with Chai as friends, not as a date, but Maya couldn't help but hope that perhaps Chai saw it as a date.

Maya texted Chai "Hey, can you send me your address so I can pick you up?" Maya waited for only one minute then Chai responded "Sure, its 5030 Shadowdale." Maya couldn't help but smile, she then walked out of her room and saw her mom in the kitchen making some coffee.

Katy saw Maya walking out of her room. "Hey baby girl, what's with the happy face?" If you looked closely you could see Maya blushing. Maya was about to respond when Katy beat her first. "Wait, today is your date with your girlfriend Chai? Aww my little baby girl is all grown up, she's going on her first date!"

Maya was now blushing hard. "Mom were just going out as friends. That's it." Maya said in a casual voice, but was practically nervous. Katy gave Maya a smile "Okay go have fun Maya, but not too much fun." Katy said with a playful tone. "MOM!" Maya walked out of the apartment and started walking to Chai's house.

Maya arrived to Chai's house and knocked the door. Five seconds later the door was opened by Chai "Hey Maya." Chai said in happy voice.

"Hey Chai, so what do you want to do today? Want to go out and eat, or go to the movies?" Maya asked in a curious tone. "I actually have a better idea. But it's a surprise." Chai said in a mischievous voice. "Aw can I please have a hint?" Maya asked with a pouty face. Chai was going to give in, but she didn't. Though she did say something interesting that caught Maya's attention.

"Nope I want this date to be perfect!" Chai caught her mistake. She told Maya this was a date. Even though she wanted this to be date, it was just two friends hanging out. Chai was about to apologize when she noticed Maya smiling, a smile that Maya only gives to Riley.

"So you think of this as a date huh?" Maya asked with teasing tone but was incredibly happy because she knows her mom is right. Maya was developing feelings for Chai and she can't ignore it. Chai was going to say sorry and to just ignore what she said.

"Well if this is a date then I'm glad that were on a date, and that you're my first date because I couldn't ask for someone better." Maya grabbed Chai's hand and smiled widely at Chai. Chai was doing the same. Maya took a risk and kissed Chai on the cheek and their smiles were even bigger. Chai and Maya started walking to their destination.
