You were showering.
It had been a long work day.
You were a waitress in a diner that was often occupied by truckers.
They weren't the best to deal with.
You felt like you were washing away all of your stress.
You loved showers.
You heard a weird whining noise coming from your bedroom.
You shut off the water and wrapped a towel around yourself.
You went to investigate the noise.
You saw a man in a leather jacket circling a blue box.
A blue phone box was in the middle of your living room.
"What the hell?" you shouted, "How the hell? What in the- What?"
The man looked at you.
The tips of his ears turned red.
He walked towards you and your screamed.
You grabbed a lamp and held it out in front of you.
"Come any closer and I'll throw it," you warned.
"Let me explain," he said.
You hesitated.
Part of you wanted to throw the lamp anyway.
Part of you wanted to know how the hell the box ended up in your living room, and why.
You decided to listen to the latter.
"Start talking," you nodded.
"My name is the Doctor. I was travelling when I caught a signal, but it was a trick of sorts," he began to explain, "It was like a computer virus. It cause my TARDIS to act up and well, it threw us off course. Ended up here."
"TARDIS?" you questioned.
"Time And Relative Dimensions in Space," he answered.
"And your name is Doctor? Isn't that kind of weird?" you asked, "Hello, Y/N, by the way."
"Not really," he replied, looking slightly insulted, "I chose it for myself."
This dude was crazy.
"Ah. Of course you did. And where do you travel? Internationally?" you played along.
"Throughout the universe; Sometimes through dimensions," he smiled.
"Oh, obviously," you said, sarcasm dripping from your voice.
You cell phone was in the bathroom.
You just had to distract him to get it and call the police.
"I'm a TimeLord, after all. From the Planet Gallifrey," he continued.
"Why don't you prove it?" you suggested, "Might help me better understand."
"Humans," he mumbled, "But fine."
You were ready to run back and lock yourself inside the bathroom.
He opened the door of the phone box.
What you saw inside, the console and strange lights, and especially the size of it all.
It was definitely alien.
He had been telling the truth.
The lamp fell from your hand.
The Doctor turned red and you were utterly confused.
It was just a lamp, and it wasn't like you had thrown it at him.
That's when you noticed his eyes travelling down your body.
You looked down and gasped.
Your towel had fallen.
You hurriedly picked it up, wrapping it around yourself.
There was silence, and no one moved.
"Awkward?" he asked.
"Definitely."
