Sherlock (Say Anything)

You were one of Lestrade's best detectives.
He had especially assigned you to assist Sherlock Holmes.
You and Sherlock quickly became the best of friends.
And you fell for him.
You thought he felt the same because he would always find a way to hold you, or press a light kiss to your somewhere.
So you told him how you felt.
You haven't seen or heard from him since.
Today was the Friday.
You, Lestrade, Donovan, and Anderson all had the next day off.
Even though you and Lestrade hated Donovan and Anderson, you were all getting drinks together.
Little did you know it was karaoke night.
After a few too many drinks, everyone was singing.
Donovan had done a scary rendition of "Anarchy In the UK" by The Sex Pistols.
Anderson had also done a scary rendition, but of "I'm Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred.
Lestrade had done a pretty good job with Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On."
Now, it was your turn.
As they shoved you onto stage, you decided to vent your emotions.
Little did you know, Sherlock and John had also been in the club, the entire time.
You laughed, drunkenly, before starting to sing.
"Here I am on the phone again and
Awkward silence is on the other end
I used to know the sound of a smile in your voice
But right now (but right now)
All I feel (all I feel)
Is the pain of the fighting starting up again
All the things we talk about
You know they stay on my mind, on my mind
All the things we laugh about
They'll bring us through it every time,
After time, after time."
You knew all of Sherlock's little antics.
You understood how hard it was for him to express emotion.
But you knew it was there.
"Don't say a word,
I know you feel the same
Just give me a sign
Say anything, say anything
Please don't walk away,
I know you wanna stay
If you just give me a sign
Say anything, say anything," you sang, remembering how Sherlock had just walked out of the door when you told him how you felt.
"Some say that time changes,
Best friends can become strangers
But I don't want that, no not for you
If you just stay with me we could make it through
So here we are again, the same old argument
Now I'm wondering if things will ever change, yeah
When will you laugh again
Laugh like you did back when
We'd make noise 'til 3 am,
And the neighbors would complain
All the things we talk about
You know they stay on my mind, on my mind
All the things we laugh about
They'll bring us through it every time,
After time, after time."
You wanted the good times back.
Everyone thought you two would get together.
No one ever thought that you two would even stop being friends.
And you didn't want it to end this way, but it had.
"Don't say a word,
I know you feel the same
Just give me a sign
Say anything, say anything
Please don't walk away,
I know you wanna stay
If you just give me a sign
Say anything, say anything," you sighed,
"I'm fallin...
I'm fallin...
I'm fallin down
I'm fallin...
I'm fallin...
I'm fallin down
Down, down, down..."
You were done with emotions.
They seemed useless.
After all, they only hurt you.
"Don't say a word,
I know you feel the same
Just give me a sign
Say anything, say anything
Please don't walk away,
I know you wanna stay
If you just give me a sign
Say anything, say anything
Don't say a word, (Please don't leave)
I know you feel the same
Just give me a sign
Say anything, say anything
Please don't walk away, (Please don't leave)
I know you wanna stay
If you just give me a sign
Say anything, say anything," you finished.
You could feel your heart swell in pain.
You forced a laugh as you went back to Lestrade, Donovan, and Anderson.
"I didn't know you could sing," Lestrade said, handing you a new drink.
"Thanks," you said, taking it, "I thought I could only sing in the shower."
Everyone drunkenly laughed and clinked glasses.
Before you could take a drink, it was taken out of your hand.
You turned to see Sherlock putting the glass back on the table.
"What are you doing here?" you asked, slurring, "Why'd you take my drink?"
"Because i don't want you to forget when i tell you i love you," he said.
"What?" you asked, shocked, suddenly sobering up.
You heard Donovan, Lestrade, and Anderson drop their drinks.
Sherlock simply grabbed you, and kissed you.
You giggled when you pulled away.
"Oh God, music is magic," you laughed.
Sherlock shook his head, but gave a hint of a smile.
"Okay, it's time for you to go home."
