You were in a band, [Your band name].
You had just finished a US tour.
You were back home in Central City with your band.
You had been invited to play at the cafe where your best friend, Iris West worked.
She had told you your ex-best friend, Barry Allen, was coming to see you play.
She claimed he missed you.
You could care less.
When you had gotten into music, formed a band, dyed your hair, got tattoos and piercings, he had been disgusted.
He said he didn't like the "new you."
He pushed away your dream, saying it was unrealistic.
So he cut off your friendship, until you decided to be "normal" again.
Yet, here you were, kicking ass in the music business and proving him wrong.
However, the cafe requested you cover a song for your performance rather than sing an original.
Why?
Because your music kind of had a lot of curses on it.
Like, a hell of a lot of curses.
So you knew just the song to sing.
As you and your band set up, you watched Barry come to the front.
You nodded and music began to fill the cafe.
"If I'm a bad person, you don't like me
Well, I guess I'll make my own way
It's a circle, a mean cycle
I can't excite you anymore
Where's your gavel? Your jury?
What's my offense this time?
You're not a judge but if you're gonna judge me
Well, sentence me to another life
Don't wanna hear your sad songs
I don't wanna feel your pain
When you swear it's all my fault
'Cause you know we're not the same
No, we're not the same, oh, we're not the same," you sang, shaking your head at the last few lyrics.
You met Barry's eyes and winked.
"Yeah, The friends who stuck together
We wrote our names in blood
But I guess you can't accept that the change is good
It's good, it's good
Well, you treat me just like another stranger
Well, it's nice to meet you, sir
I guess I'll go, I best be on my way out
You treat me just like another stranger
Well, it's nice to meet you, sir
I guess I'll go, I best be on my way out," you waved goodbye.
You pointed at Barry.
"Ignorance is your new best friend
Ignorance is your new best friend."
Your bassist, a heart throb guy to all of your female fans, leaned in to share your mic before starting to sing with you.
"This is the best thing that could've happened
Any longer, and I wouldn't have made it
It's not a war, no, it's not a rapture
I'm just a person, but you can't take it
The same tricks that, that once fooled me
They won't get you anywhere
I'm not the same kid from your memory
Well, now I can fend for myself
Don't wanna hear your sad songs
I don't wanna feel your pain
When you swear it's all my fault
'Cause you know we're not the same
No, we're not the same, oh, we're not the same," you both sang, smiling at each other.
He went back to his place.
You went back to meeting Barry's eyes.
"Yeah, we used to stick together
We wrote our names in blood
But I guess you can't accept that the change is good
It's good, it's good
Well, you treat me just like another stranger
Well, it's nice to meet you, sir
Well, I guess I'll go, I best be on my way out
You treat me just like another stranger
Well, it's nice to meet you, sir
Well, I guess I'll go, I best be on my way out," you sang before throwing in a few quick jabs to the beat.
You pointed at Barry again.
"Ignorance is your new best friend
Ignorance is your new best friend
Ignorance is your new best friend
Ignorance is your new best friend," you sang to him, laughing at the end of the line.
You looked to the door.
"Well, you treat me just like another stranger
Well, it's nice to meet you, sir
Well, I guess I'll go, I best be on my way out
You treat me just like another stranger
Well, it's nice to meet you, sir
I guess I'll go, I best be on my way out," you sang, yet again waving goodbye.
You guys finished and everyone clapped.
As you guys cleaned up your instruments, Barry came up to you.
"Y/N, can we talk?" he asked.
"Sorry, we don't do interviews," you stated, coldly.
"Come on, I want to apologize," he said, "I want to be best friends again."
You gave him a small smile and kissed his cheek, before you walked out with your band.
You looked back at him for a second.
"Ignorance is your new best friend."
