Ben: Got a good one there, don't you? (motions to Ashton, who is in the kitchen, at Luke's questioning stare) Ashton. He's a cool guy. Nice lad.
Luke: He is. Good man.
Ben: He's great with Luca.
Luke: Yeah. He loves kids.
Ben: (sincere) He'll make a great dad, someday.
Luke: (fond) I don't doubt it.
Ben: (quiet) Luke, I want to apologize.
Luke: (confused) For what?
Ben: For not being there for you so many years ago. (Luke tries to interrupt, Ben holds a hand up) Please, uh, let me finish. I'm your brother. It's my job to make sure you're safe and happy. I didn't do any of that when Andrew started hitting you. I should have stood up to him. I should have protected you and I'm sorry. I wish I could go back in time and do something to stop it. I should've stopped it before it could've begun. I regret not doing anything. I'm sorry, Luke. I can't ask for your forgiveness. I just hope that you don't hate me for it.
Luke: (smiles) I don't hate you, Ben. I forgive for everything, as well.
Ben: (stunned) But...how?
Luke: (glances at Ashton, who is talking to Diane in the kitchen) I've learned to stop being so angry, I guess. Being around someone like Ashton, it's made me realize that I shouldn't waste my emotions on the past. I have someone who loves me, regardless of my flaws and mistakes. (turns to Ben) I can do the same for you. You're my brother. I'll always love you, regardless of what happened in the past.
Ben: (shocked, shakes his head, chuckles) He's a really great man, isn't he? Must be.
Luke: (fond) The greatest.
