Luke's POV:
"So how'd it go?"
We all hang backstage as Addison had run off to change out of her dress. We're not on for another ten minutes or so so Addison has been hanging back here in order for us to keep her company.
Michael said his girlfriend Crystal is on her way so Addison won't be alone this time as she was last time. I can't help but feel comforted by this especially because I don't want to worry about some asshole repeating what happened last time.
"Good," I say with a shrug of my shoulders, not wanting to really get into it.
Needless to say, I had an incredible time. A time so great that I dreaded it ending. Sitting and talking with Addison just feels so natural and it comes so easy to the both of us. She's sweet, outgoing, has a great personality, and is the most beautiful girl in any room we step in.
Her reaction to my natural look tonight left me absolutely shocked. I couldn't believe that she was at a literal loss for words. I would've never guessed a girl would prefer this messy look over the more clean cut look. However, it's absolutely tempting to stick to the messier look just because I know what it did to Addison.
It's comforting to know she was into the nerdier side of me as well but the way she could barely get a word out when she saw me was enough to make me feel not as guilty for going on a date with such a gorgeous girl. Before I felt as if she was doing me a favor by going out with the geeky guy with glasses. Now, I feel as if she's attracted to something farther than my personality.
"Well, hello, tell us all about it," Michael says as if it were obvious.
I shrug my shoulders and strap my guitar on me, trying to thinking of the right way to describe it. What other word could I possibly use besides perfect?
"It was great," I say adjusting my ear pieces as well. "She's incredible."
"Well no shit, tell us something we don't know," Calum says making me laugh considering I know they want the whole run down. Unfortunately for them, they're not going to get it from me.
"You'll have to get it out of her," I say simply as they all look at me with disappointed looks.
The night's not over and the last thing I want to do is say something wrong and screw it up.
"Did you kiss her?" Ashton asks.
"No."
I wanted to, but there was no way of knowing if she wanted me to. Plus, I didn't think there was a right time. Even just placing my hand on her back felt like too bold of a move for me. I was terrified of screwing up the date and felt kissing her could've played a part in that.
"Why the hell not?" Calum asks.
"Well when was I supposed to do it?" I ask looking at him as if he has four eyes. "What am I supposed to do? Just kiss her when she least expects it?"
"Yes!" All the guys say simultaneously, taking me by surprise.
"Chicks love that shit," Calum says making me look to him in shock.
They do? Who wants to be caught off guard like that? Plus, what if I mess it up and bang my head against hers or something? Knowing my luck, that's exactly how it would go.
"What if I hurt her?" I ask realizing I probably sound dumb.
Calum bursts into laughter and I can tell the other two are holding back a laugh. I roll my eyes in frustration and turn away from them just as Ashton grabs my arm.
"You're not going to hurt her dude. All you gotta do is lean in and kiss her. Girls love being taken by surprise," Ashton says to me.
I contemplate this but have no damn idea how I could possibly do it. I've never kissed someone, how am I supposed to just kiss someone without their knowledge out of nowhere?
Running a hand down my face, I decide I'll kiss her when I feel the time's right. Moreso, when I think she wants to kiss me. I'm not just going to kiss here because these guys think I should. It's got to be something I think she wants.
"Shouldn't we be getting ready for our set?" I ask looking to the guys who all look at me expectantly.
They luckily accept this as they change the subject and start talking about something else. I decide to leave my jacket backstage while I perform instead of wearing it out on there.
As I hang it up, I notice the door to our room open up revealing the girl who had slipped away not too long ago. Addison stands there in a tight red skirt matched with a low cut, silky tank top making me attempt to keep my eyes on hers.
The day she manages to wear something that doesn't take my breath away truly will be the day pigs fly.
"Look at you sexy little thing," Calum says making Addison playfully roll her eyes as she gives him a teasing shove.
"I just threw this together, does it look okay?"
Calum turns to me and says, "I don't know, Luke does it look okay?"
I must stand there like an idiot as my eyes are wide and everyone turns to me. Addison looks to me with innocent eyes seeming almost guilty Calum put me on the spot like that.
Clearing my throat, I say, "You look great Addison, as always."
"Thanks Luke," she says taking a seat on one of the chairs in the dressing room.
As she turns away Calum wiggles his eyebrows at me and I resist the urge to flip him off. He makes this almost painful for me.
"How much time do we have until we're on?" Ashton asks twirling his drumsticks in his hands.
Michael checks his watch and says, "They'll be announcing us any minute now."
I hadn't even realized the ten minutes had passed. I don't know if I'm ready to go out there yet. Hell, I've barely had time to mentally prepare myself. God, I feel like I'm going to be sick.
"You guys are going to do great," Addison says standing up once again to send us off. "I'm super proud of you all."
Her eyes move to find my own and she holds my gaze. I open my mouth to say something but have no idea what to say.
I hear someone come out on the microphone which means we'll be out there probably in any minute. My heart rate picks up and I hear the crowd start to cheer.
"It's showtime," Ashton says as they move towards the curtain.
I make a gesture to go follow them when Addison stops me by grabbing my wrist. I look to her as her blue eyes stare into my own and her lips part.
"You're going to do great Luke."
My eyes involuntarily drop to her lips that sit there practically begging for attention. Kiss them you idiot. Kiss her and take her by surprise. Just do it. They're sitting there waiting.
"Everyone please help me welcome our act for the night!" the cheers get louder and I know it's now or never.
I can kiss her or I can walk off onto that stage and leave her standing here.
"Break a leg," she says giving my wrist a squeeze. "I'll be cheering you on."
I hear the guys head out onto stage and my heart only races faster. Do it you idiot. Just fucking kiss her.
As I seem to gather the smallest amount of courage, I hear Michael's voice interrupt me as he says, "Come on Luke, we got to go."
This snaps me out of my trance as I drop my wrist from her grip and she lets go. She shoots me a comforting smile clearly having no idea of the thoughts that previously flooded my mind.
"I'll be looking for you," is all I manage to say.
Addison smiles as she nods her head and Michael practically drags me out.
I step out onto the stage and see the large crowd and the shining lights. My nerves manage to sweep through me as I step to the center of the stage knowing that everyone is expecting a whole lot from me tonight.
I can't help but be let down by what just happened. Why couldn't I have just kissed her right then and there? It would've given me all the confidence I need to kill it out here and instead I just left her standing there alone.
Dammit, I'm such a virgin.
Addison's POV:
I rush out from backstage in order to not miss a second. In fact, I practically shove through the crowd in an attempt to hopefully find Crystal. She texted me and told me she was here, I just have no idea where.
Most people seem fairly engaged in the crowd luckily as they all pay attention to the front of the stage. I hurry to the back just in time to catch Crystal's blonde hair walking away from the bar with two drinks in her hand.
Flagging her down, I wave as she sighs of relief and hurries to me.
"Thank god, there you are," she says handing me one of the two drinks. "They just went on right?"
"Yeah, thank you for the drink," I say turning to the stage as we step away from the bar.
I notice Luke look around the bar as he grips onto the mic in a seemingly nervous way. I can't help but admire how he has the total look of a musician up there. Now that he's finally let loose, he fits right in and I can't take my eyes off of him.
"Hey everyone," he says before clearing his throat and adjusting his grip on the mic. "Thank you for having us up here tonight, I'm Luke, behind me we have Ashton, Calum, and Michael."
Everyone puts their hand up as Luke introduces them and the crowd seems to cheer louder and louder at the introduction of them all. Crystal and I cheer obnoxiously loud for all of them.
"This is a song we just wrote called If Walls Could Talk," Luke says causing certain people to whistle. Crystal screams at the top of her lungs making me laugh as I join in. "Feel free to clap along or dance with us. We hope you enjoy it."
Clapping for them, I watch as Luke turns to the guys to see if they're ready to begin. Ashton starts them off and I notice the lights start to go off, leaving a single light on the stage.
"Have you heard the song yet?" I yell to Crystal.
"No," she says. "Michael says it's one of his favorites though."
Excitement bubbles within me as I notice Luke start to clap and Calum joining along. The crowd instantly joins so Crystal and I raise our hands high to clap to the beat.
"Just like this," Luke says before starting to sing, "Ohh ohh oh oh oh. Ohhh oh oh oh oh."
Everyone sings it loudly which impresses me considering how engaged everyone is. Their hands are to the sky as they scream the simple tune Luke instructed them to.
Luke watches and I see a smile on his lips as he continues with the crowd. I hope this is hyping them up more than anything.
After a few rounds of them singing the tune, I watch as Luke steps up to the mic stand, gripping it carefully.
Both of his hands rest on the microphone and he closes his eyes as he begins to sing.
"Some things are meant to be secret and not to be heard
So if I tell you, just keep it and don't say a word
Yeah, when the doors are all closing, it's bound to get loud

I stand in shock, still in awe of how amazing of a voice he has. I would've never guessed my criminal justice professor could sing as well as he does. His stage presence is enough to have me begging for him as he commands the stage with ease.
"Oh, not everything is so primitive
Oh, but I'm giving in."
His fingers move to play the guitar in front of him and I watch as he looks out into the crowd looking at the different people who are clapping and dancing to their song.
"What the fuck? He's so talented," Crystal says to me.
All I can do is nod my head in agreement considering I'm too shocked to form words. Not only does he look absolutely beautiful up there, but his voice doesn't fail to amaze me.

His high notes are enough to send me to the ground as I stand there with my mouth wide open. I can tell all the guys are loving his stage presence as they stand there with wide smiles and clearly are just as shocked as myself.
What shocks me next is when he releases the mic and instructs, "Jump, jump, jump."
The crowd immediately starts bouncing as Luke jumps up and down, playing his guitar as if his life depended on it.
I can truly say I don't think I've ever been this attracted to someone in life.
Crystal grabs onto my hand and immediately starts jumping. I jump with her to the chords of the chorus and feel a genuine smile cross my lips due to happiness. Luke Hemmings is up there absolutely killing it and practically commanding the whole crowd and he looks sexy as hell doing it.
He turns to Luke as they both smile at one another and continue jumping. How can he sing, play guitar, and jump while being up there? He is absolutely incredible.
As the chorus seems to wrap up, I notice Calum begins to sing making me cheer loudly for my best friend who's vocals never fail to amaze me. Crystal cheers along with me and I watch as Luke runs a hand through his unruly curls and attempts to fix his ear piece.
I can't take my eyes off of him and I can only imagine every girl in this room can't either.
It starts building up to the chorus once again and Luke steps up to the mic. Everyone starts dancing more than they have and I can tell they're genuinely enjoying the performance. I can't help but be over the hills happy for all of them.
It's not long before Luke's instructing everyone to jump once again and everyone jumps higher than they ever have.
Crystal grabs onto my wrist and starts dragging me towards the front in order for us to be closer. I don't mind as we push through and get to the front of the crowd where a bunch of desperate girls pull their shirts down lower than usual.
We once again lock hands as we jump up and down to the chorus, immediately getting the guys attention. Michael's the first to notice as he laughs and points towards us. Luke seems to notice this as he follows the direction of his arm and locks eyes with me immediately.
I continue to jump for him and swing my hair back and forth as Luke wears a proud smile.
The chorus wraps up and instantly the lights start flickering as the chords get sharper and Luke grips onto the microphone and steps away from the stand. I notice him immediately walking towards us and I'm confused by his actions. However, it's not long before he's squatting in front of us and singing in a deep, dark voice.
His eyes stay on mine and refuse to look away making me suck in a deep breath.

My mouth must drop open in surprise at how sexy the nerdy teacher from just yesterday is acting. I want nothing more than to grip onto his shirt, tug him towards me and make him mine. No one else's.
"Oh hell no," I say to Crystal as I keep my eyes on him.
She giggles as she nudges her hip with mine, knowing damn well what the curly haired boy is doing to me.
"Yeah, when the doors are all closing, it's bound to get loud

I must look like an idiot because of the way I'm staring at him. I'm truly staring at him as if he's a piece of chocolate and I can't take my eyes off of it.
I'm in such a trance, I hardly notice as he backs away and goes back to singing the song. Crystal laughs at the sight of me as she taps the bottom of my chin in an attempt to close it.
"Careful, you'll catch a fly."
"Who the hell knew he could be so sexy?" I ask in disbelief.
Why has he hidden this? How is he a virgin? I have so many damn questions that I'm desperate for answers to. Luke Hemmings doesn't even realize his beauty.
They instruct the crowd to jump one last time and Crystal leans towards my ear, "Come on, let's go to the dressing room so we can catch them once they get off."
I nod my head wanting to see them all desperately. She grips onto my wrist and leads the way as she hurries us back to the dressing room. I feel my heart race at the thought of seeing Luke after he had just left me in a trance like that. I can't believe that was the same Luke Hemmings that is my teacher.
She pushes open the door and I attempt to catch my breath as they finish their song. What the hell am I supposed to say to him? How am I supposed to form a sentence when he was up there looking like that?
"Okay, no one told me Luke was sexy as hell," Crystal says as we enter the dressing room and she immediately takes a seat.
"You're not the only one," I say beginning to pace considering how anxious I am to see him.
I'm especially anxious because I know absolutely every girl in the bar had their eyes on him. What if he decides to pursue someone out there? I'm in no way going to be able to stand around and witness that.
The guys thank everyone for watching their performance and my heart races. The thought of seeing Luke right now is enough to make me want to throw up of nervousness. I almost don't feel worthy being in a room with someone that beautiful.
"Here they come," Crystal practically sings probably noticing just how nervous I am.
I start running through things in my head what I could possibly say to Luke but nothing comes. I'm speechless. Speechless that I just witnessed him looking like that. I was practically out there drooling.
"That was amazing!" I hear Ashton's voice yell.
"Luke, you completely commanded that crowd, that was all you!" Michael says as their voices get closer and I almost bite my nails in nervousness.
"You killed that performance man," Calum says and Ashton immediately exposed as he opens the door to the room.
My eyes scan the guys, looking for the one I really care about in this moment. Calum strips off his shirt and steps to the side to expose Luke. Luke's eyes immediately find my own and I watch a smile stretch across his lips.
I mirror his smile as I hurry up to him and say, "Luke you were so-"
However, I'm immediately shut up the second he closes the gap between us and grabs my face in order to kiss me. I'm in immediate shock considering the last thing I was expecting was for Luke to kiss me.
It all sets in the second everyone starts whistling and hollering for the two of us so I don't hesitate to wrap an arm around his neck and kiss him back with a dumb smile on my lips.
His lips are soft and plump on my own but I can feel the desire in them. It's a kiss to make me feel as if I'm on cloud nine as he towers over me and softly holds onto either side of my cheeks.
I could've probably kissed him for another hour but considering all of our friends are standing right beside us cheering us on, we both pull away, neither want of us daring to look away.
The smile remains on my lips as I feel so stupid happy.
"Fucking finally, took you long enough," Calum says dramatically making me look over to see him collapse on the couch.
We both laugh and I can't help but look down as I tuck a loose strand of hair behind my ear.
Luke surprises me by dipping a finger under my chin and tugging my head back up so I'm looking in his eyes.
He licks his bottom lip before saying, "I've been wanting to do that all night."
Letting out a small laugh, I continue to stare in his light blue eyes that continue to mesmerize me.
"Me too."
