When morning came, Cole was no where to be seen. We were starting to worry where his whereabouts but luckily, Cole stayed over to Cole and Dylan's common friend. I hope he goes back for dinner because I know how important this is for them since they rarely see their dad.
Lili offered to leave but Dylan stopped her because it's not even her fault and Dylan's parents don't have any idea about what happened last night. Dylan has to cover Cole that he went over to their friend's house for little catching up but their parents didn't bite into the story but nonetheless let it go.
Dylan showed Lili and I around town to get our minds off from what happened though once in a while, Lili would just secretly tear up so I suggest to Dylan to go back home instead. I don't want to leave Lili because this is practically their first huge fight and it's all my fault. I should have not told her to keep it a secret that even if she told the secret, I wouldn't even be mad at her.
Lili stayed in her room while I stayed in Dylan's room. At that time, I hugged Dylan and finally let the tears I held back last night go. I didn't cry last night after the fight because I'm too busy of thinking about Lili.
"It's okay, baby", Dylan comforted me and I swear if I didn't love this man, I would break up with him and be friends with Cole again. However, he gives me this sense of comfort that no one has ever given to me.
"What do we do, Dylan?" I asked as Dylan just hugged me tighter and held me closer.
"He'll come around. I know him", he reassured as we just spend the whole morning like that.
When it was 3pm, Mrs. Sprouse asked for our help so Lili and I assisted her. Dylan and Mr. Sprouse was in charge of the turkey while the three of us were in charge of everything else like the pasta, potato marbles and such. Melanie asked us about our swollen eyes and we just reasoned that we watched a sloppy romantic movie.
Later, Cole arrived, smelling like a reek of alcohol so Mr. Sprouse instructed him to take a bath to remove the scent and may have scolded him a little.
When dinner came, we all went and sat on our seats. I was across Lili and beside Dylan who is across Cole. Lili tried to talk to Cole before dinner but Cole just ignored her.
We first pray and thank for the meal by holding each other's hand and closing our eyes.
Mr. Sprouse started, "I am very thankful for this meal and also for blessing me to be with my family in thanksgiving. I also thank the two ladies who makes my boys happy and thank my wife for being patient and understanding".
"We also thank for not only this time but for guiding us always and keeping us safe and healthy", Melanie continued.
Suddenly, Cole continued, "I also thank for giving us a lesson of trust that you can't trust anyone in this world even if it's your brother, best friend or girlfriend because they are ready to betray in an instant"
Dylan squeezed my hand as I can already feel tears falling from my eyes. Suddenly, there was a noise that made us open our eyes and it was Lili, walking away from the table.
I followed Lili as Dylan shouted to Cole, "Follow her, douche"
"Why would I?", Cole shouted back.
Mr. Sprouse stood up and shouted, "We'll resume this dinner once you sorted whatever you need to settle. Follow those girls now"
So they followed us outside as I went to Lili's side to comfort her.
"You could just let this one slide tonight, man", Dylan said to Cole.
"What? Lie to our parents that everything's okay hmm? Just like how you and Jassy and Lili had been for the past few months. Sorry if I couldn't take eating with you people
"Fine, don't forgive us okay? But please, forgive Lili because all she did is love you
"Stop it. Don't forgive me as well. I know we lied to you and betrayed you but remember when you told me how you hate people who forget all the good memories because of one bad thing? Surprise because I realized you're one of them. So I hope you kept that in mind. Let's just get this dinner over it, I respect your parents enough not to ruin this dinner", Lili went inside, leaving the three of us here.
"Cole, I have no right to ask any favor from you and I know you're also hurt with what Lili did but it's because she had no other choice because it's all my fault, okay? It must also been hard for her to keep this from you because she's taking me into consideration", I explained, wanting nothing but for him to forgive Lili.
"If you just told me from the beginning, then we'll never have this stupid fight", Cole stated as a matter of fact. I know he's right and I know it's my fault but it still hurts.
"Look, we're really sorry and we are not rushing you to forgive us but...", Dylan spoke but Cole cut him off immediately.
"Rushing? Sorry but I'll never forget the both of you. I may be your twin but I am not your brother. I know it doesn't exist and it's childish but you broke the bro code. I ask you for only one thing but you fucking fucked it up", Cole said then, stormed inside.
I looked at Dylan and went to his arms to hug him. Dylan may seem not to care about Cole as he's always calling him names and he's teasing and mocking him but he really does and to hear this from his brother, it must have hurt him. Why didn't I take the courage to tell Cole? Because truth betold, Dylan never suggested to hide this secret because it was I who told him to keep our relationship a secret. That's why even Dylan is telling Cole that it's his fault, it can never diminish the fact that it was really I who caused this mess because I was too scared of losing both of them.
Afterwards, we went back inside and we acted like everything's okay when it's clearly not. It's also cool for their parents not to question us what happened.
After dinner, Lili decided to go back to the university in which Cole finally gave in and voluntereed to drive Lili back. Lili texted me that they haven't made up yet but she understands as she plans to give Cole some time because she is also in fault.
I stayed in my room then suddenly, my phone rang and it was my mother.
"Hello", I greeted.
"Hello Jassy. Happy thanksgiving", she greeted. I can already feel crying again. It's been so long since I talked to my mom and her calling me at this moment is truly a blessed coincidence.
"Happy thanksgiving, mom", my voice sounded weak but I just missed her so much.
"Where are you?", she asked.
"I'm in the Sprouse residence. They invited me over. How's your thanksgiving? Did Joe got the leg?", I tried to keep it normal so she wouldn't worry but my voice cracked a little.
"Yes, he did. Well, if you don't have plans tomorrow, will you stop by here? I really miss you and we haven't really talk lately", she offered.
"Sure and I miss you too", I agreed. I can't wait to see her again and also my brothers.
"Is everything okay? Your voice sounds weak", she noticed but I quickly shook my head, trying again to stop my cries.
"Yes. I just miss you so much and my brothers and I'm really sorry that..."
"Hush now. Let's talk tomorrow, okay? I'll wait for you", she cut me off and all I wanted to do is drive now to her.
"Bye, mom", I bid my goodbye before I breakdown some more.
"I love you", she said as I just hanged up. It's funny that I could easily tell Dylan, my brothers and my friends that I love them but I just can't seem to tell those words to my mom even though I love her so much. Maybe because growing up even she sided with me with all the drama, we were never close and we were never been clingy or sweet to each other so it's kind of awkward for me to say those words to her. But I really love her so much.
After the phonecall and after cleaning up, I saw Dylan sitting on
my bed, obviously waiting for me.
"How long have you been here?", I asked as he just opened his arms and told me to come to him. I quickly abide as I stood in the space between his legs. He hugged me and I can feel the tears forming again.
"Did you cry inside?", he asked as I just hummed yes. "Jassy, I promise you that everything will be alright. Cole is the type of guy that doesn't hold grudges. He forgave me when I cheated so he would forgive you as well. He will look pass the secret and take into consideration everything you have done good to him, okay? I also promise you that I will just be here with you, okay? So if you want to cry or if you want me to hold you, just tell me and I'll drop whatever I'm doing for you. I love you, Jassy"
I just stayed quiet as he stood up and put some of the hair on my face behind my ears that I didn't really realize that those were there. He held my face and gave a peck on my forehead then, on my nose then, going to my lips but I dodged.
"My mom invited me tomorrow back in our place and I agreed. I think I need that before going back to the university", I told him. I don't why I dodged his kiss upon my lips but I really don't feel like it as I'm still feeling guilty on what I did. It's like I cheated on Cole with Dylan even though Cole and I weren't dating.
"Do you want me to come with you?", he asked but I shook my head.
"I suggest you stay here first and explain to your parents what happened. Plus I have to test the water first if it's cool bringing you there with my brothers and my dad. Maybe you could come a day after tomorrow", I explained to him and he just nodded.
We both lie down on the bed as he held me close to him.
"I love you, Dylan" I whispered to him and afterwards went to sleep.
He's right. Everything will be alright as long as he's with me.
