His Broken Angel

Chapter Seventeen: Bras and Panties

"What about these?" I asked while holding up panties that were too bright for me.

"Too colorful," Reese sighed.

We had spent barely ten minutes and I had probably raised ten to twenty panties and a ton of bras in front of Reese. For some he said they were terrible and didn't even know why they made them. Others he mentioned how they were okay, some he even smirked once he saw them.

"What else do I need?" I mumbled to myself. Before making a choice I spotted the boy shorts. Now that's what I needed right now.

At the end I chose at least two of them because they were really expensive, I only had twenty bucks in my wallet. Did I even have enough for more?

I turned my head to face Reese, a pout appearing on my lips. "What do you want now?" he groaned.

"Can I borrow some money? Just a little bit?"

"Do you not have enough panties at home? Or bras at least?" I shook my head, but inside I knew I did. Hey! A girl can never have enough undergarments in her closet. "Here then."

Reese handed me a fifty dollar bill, fifty dollar bill! I gladly took it and mumbled a thank you before grabbing two bras and three panties. Pretty sure this would do. I had specifically chosen a set of a bra and panty to match, the color bright red.

After buying them all, Reese began to complain on how hungry he was. It was barely one o'clock, and my stomach already demanded for food.

I sat down at one of the tables while Reese ordered. My nails dug underneath my skin once I smelled the aroma of fast food. Inside I felt my stomach twist into knots until I couldn't sit here anymore.

I ran to the bathroom before splashing water into my face. Looking at myself I felt my stomach turn. My face had grown pale and it looked like I was ready to throw up.

After spending a few seconds in there, I walked back out to find Reese at the table with our food.

"Where were you?" he asked as I sat down.

"Bathroom," I replied flatly.

My hands were folded on my lap. Shaking, I took a fry and chewed it up until it slid down my throat. At first I felt like I would throw up any second, but my body demanded for food.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you. You're meeting my parents tomorrow," Reese mentioned casually.

I almost choked on my food once he finished. "W-What?"

"You're coming over to my house. To meet my family."

"Why?"

Reese sighed. "There's a reason why I asked you to be my "girlfriend", Sweetheart." That nickname was really growing on me.

"And have you talked to them about me?" I asked before drinking some water to clear my throat.

"Yes."

Once again I choked, but this time on the stupid drink. "A-Already?"

"Why not?" Reese leaned back in his chair, snatching away my water from my grasp. I scowled at him before grabbing some of his fries. "Those are mine!" he whined.

"And so was that water," I mocked with a sly grin. "So I'm going to your place to meet your parents tomorrow."

He nodded. "Yep."

Well this would be fun.

I walked home alone this time. It was getting dark anyways and I managed to convince Reese to go back home. But it was obvious that I felt really lonely right now.

Once inside I ran to the bathroom and threw up all the food I had eaten. I tried my best to keep it in the entire time we were there, but it felt like an urge to do it.

I sat down on my bed before getting my phone that vibrated nonstop. The Caller ID showed Reese, a smile speeding on my lips before I wiped it away.

"Yes, Reese?" I said through the phone.

"I was wondering if you were alone so I could accompany you again." He was probably smirking already.

"I'm good."

I heard him sigh in frustration. "You sure?" he whined.

"I'm sure and I have to go anyways. My phone is about to die."

"Mhmm. . . Fine, but I don't get mad when you find many texts from me while you're gone." And just like that Reese hung up.

If I could I would block him right now, but that felt like going overboard to the extent of simply ignoring him. I finally let my phone to charge before taking a long shower.

My hands touched my stomach, all the scars making it feel bumpy. One cut was still fresh, so I ended up wincing the entire time when I reached the soap part of my shower. It stung like hell in other words.

I put on some shorts and an oversized tee before crawling into bed. It was barely 9:30 p.m., and I wasn't really tired. I didn't want to go downstairs to get my laptop because I was already in a comfortable position. Plus, my phone was charging.

What does a sixteen-year-old do at night when they're not tired?

After a long minute of arguing with myself, I finally stood up to grab my camera from my desk. It had been a long time since I'd taken pictures, but not too long for me to forget.

Looking through the pictures I remembered taking them. I found one that had Alex and I at the park. It was Easter and we wanted to have an egg hunt before going home. At that time we were still getting to know Claire and Harry. To him they were already our parents, to me they were still strangers that I could barely trust.

Another one had a butterfly, others flowers, landmarks, and even statues. I had thought that they were bad, but looking at them now made me realize that they were pretty good for a thirteen-year-old back then.

I laid in my bed, staring at the ceiling until my eyes felt droopy. "I'm meeting Reese's partners tomorrow," I whispered to myself. "Just another thing to worry about. . ."

I woke up facedown on my pillow, my arms stretched out on top with a huge pain in my neck.

Groaning I lifted myself up before seeing a two family icy blue eyes. "What. The. Hell?"

"Good morning sunshine," Reese mocked.

I rolled my eyes while burying my face in my pillow. "What do you want!" I shouted.

"To get you ready for your little meeting with my folks," he chimed. Reese plopped himself on my bed, my body bouncing up before I was close to the edge. "Proper attire is a plus for the perfect girl."

"I'm not even your real girlfriend. How am I supposed to be the "perfect girl"?"

Reese shrugged. "That's your problem. I've done enough acting for the both of us."

Another roll of my eyes and I sat up in my bed. A yawn escaped my lips before I laid my head on Reese's shoulder. With my eyes closing, I took a small nap for two seconds until Reese flicked me  on my forehead. "Ow!" I shouted annoyingly.

"Get up! You have. . .5 hours left."

"Five hours left? Five damn hours left!" I said sourly, a grim expression appearing on my face. "You give me one good reason why I should get off this bed right now."

"I'll carry and throw you into the tub if you don't get in yourself," he smirked.

I laid back down, a smile appearing on my lips. But that happy moment was gone for me since Reese picked me up and literally threw me in the tub, softly for my sake, and turned the cold water on.

I tried to get out but Reese blocked my exit and forced me to stand in the freezing rain. "You are an asshole!"

Reese slipped out of the bathroom, but before I could yell anything else, he poked his head and smiled before saying, "You really should rethink about wearing a Minnie Mouse bra underneath a white tee."

I rolled my eyes before looking at myself in the mirror, my eyes growing wide. "Get out!" I shouted.

Reese finally got out but laughed the entire time. I groaned in frustration before seeing my Minnie Mouse bra visible from my soaking tee. "At least he didn't see your scars," I mumbled.

The short shower made me shiver the entire time once I got out. I wrapped myself in a towel before stepping out, poking my head out to see where Reese was.

And there laying on my bed were clothes that he had picked out from my closet. A red shirt that was longer in the back, deep blue jeans, my black combat boots, and a black leather jacket.

He had better taste in clothes than I did.

Downstairs Reese was already sitting at the counter with a bowl of Lucky Charms in front of him. The sight of food made my stomach grumble.

"You just grabbed some cereal from my house?" I asked while stepping in front of him, my elbows leaning against the table with my hands folded neatly underneath my chin.

"You took too long," he said before taking a spoonful of marshmallows. I scowled at him. "We're leaving at five by they way."

"What is up with you and the number five?" I blurted.

Reese shrugged. He set down his empty bowl in the sink before washing it. I watched him peculiarly until he was done, he turned around to face me, my puzzled expression amusing him. "What? I know how to wash a plate."

I rolled my eyes before walking to the couch, Reese sitting too closely beside me. His hand was nearly near mine when I heard the doorbell ring.

The mailman stood at the door with a small package meant for me. "Thank you?" I said taking the box. He made me sign before leaving and driving off.

I stared at the box in my hands while setting it down, Reese turning his head towards me. "What is it?" he asked.

"Don't know," I mumbled.

There wasn't a label or any sign that showed me who it was from. Without hesitation I teared it open, my eyes focusing on a small box with a picture of my brother and I when we younger.

I grabbed the picture, carefully examining it. Alex was probably nine while I was five. We both had paint all over our faces and hands, our smiles greeting the camera with a reflection of the one person I hated most in a mirror taking the picture of his kids.

There was something underneath the picture. It was a glass box holding a ring that I had seen before. Slowly picking it up with my shaking hand I noticed the small diamond in the center of the ring. A note was taped right beside it.

Happy early Birthday my babygirl
         -Dad

My heart began to pound uncontrollably, tears daring to pour from my already watery eyes. The glass box slipped from my hands and shattered on the ground.

"Maggie?" Reese asked.

I stepped back, holding my head. Images flashed into my head as tears slipped down my cheeks.

"Is everything okay?" Reese touched my shoulder with his hand. I flinched and stepped briskly away from him.

"D-Don't touch me," I said shakily.

More images flashed into my head. All the sounds invaded my mind as I tried to regain my breath. With my chest tightening inside me, I ran upstairs while sobbing uncontrollably.
