I tried so much not to work and spend my whole time with my wife as planned but nothing ever goes as planned. It was our last day in Udaipur and tomorrow we are flying back home. But there are things I need to do so here I am in Ekansh's study working instead of spending time with my wife. After I learned about her uncle and aunt, how can I let them get away with what they did to my love? They were living a happy life without any consequences of their actions, but how could I let that happen?
So since I knew I had started planning their downfall without Anika knowing, I decided to tell her when the plan was well and ready. As I was digging through his past so many things came to light I wondered if my wife and her brothers knew. Everything is looking up right now for her uncle's company which is close to bankruptcy. He has just made a deal with Ekansh's company and walked right into our trap but when I am done with him, he is going to lose everything he has and he will be behind bars for a long long time.
I just need to be patient and not go hulk on him as soon as we reach home. I sighed as I looked through his files to see all the illegal things he had done. Money laundering, embezzlement, corruption, gambling there is more and I am trying to find evidence for those.
"Why the fuck are you moping?" Ekansh noted as he went through his paperwork. I sighed again and looked at my phone to see if Anika had replied, it's been 23 minutes since my last message and she still hasn't replied. That's how I've been communicating with her for the past two hours I've been working. "Fucking whipped asshole." He mumbled.
I rolled my eyes at him but didn't answer. I was going through my phone waiting for her to reply when my phone rang. I couldn't help but roll my eyes again when I saw the caller. I answered the call. As soon as I answered he started to whine. "What do you think you are doing? Why the fuck are you digging into shit that doesn't matter to you?"
"Hello to you too Rajvansh. I'm doing good thanks for asking and your sister is good too. She completely forgot about you thanks to me." I deadpanned.
"Don't give me that shit, tell me what are you doing?" The fact that he didn't say anything about Anika meant he was serious. "Why are you digging into my uncle's past?" He gritted through clenched teeth.
"Why do you think so?" I sat up having enough. "You must be able to sit and do nothing about your sister's abuse but I can't do that. I can't let her abusers live peacefully after what he did to Anika." I growled. He laughed but there was no humour in it.
"Do you think you are doing something wonderful by ruining my uncle? I know everything he and his family did to my family. Do you think I like seeing them living happily? Do you think I don't want to kill him, his wife and his daughter every time I see them? I do, more than you could ever imagine. But I refrain because this is not just about ruining him. If I did something it will directly impact my whole family, it will cause so much pain to my Dadi and Dadu.
They lost one son and daughter-in-law and they still haven't recovered from it. If they knew their elder son might be involved in their younger son's accident or he and his family had tortured and abused their deceased son's children, what would happen to them? It will break them and they will be completely shattered. I know I sound like a pussy saying all this but I want my grandparents happy and healthy even if we have to endure their presence. They are more important to us than revenge. We let it go a long time ago and I want you to stop whatever you're doing." He finished. I sighed. Anika said the same thing when I asked her about it how it will affect her grandparents. I know what he is saying is right and I understand but I can't just sit and do nothing, I need to do something.
"So you knew about the accident?" I asked cautiously
"Of Course I know everything he has done and is doing. Why do you think he hasn't been able to grow his company or was close to bankruptcy? How do you think all of Amaira's attempt to get into acting are going down the drain. How you do you think everyone in Netra's friend group know how her husband is cheating on her with much younger women. Because I was doing what I could to make them lose everything. But just without having to involve anyone and protecting my grandparents from the truth."
"But Utkarsh don't you think they deserve to know the truth. I know how difficult it will be for them but it is also important for them to know the truth at least about the abuse. You can't let them get away with what they did to you guys." I said calmly. "I'm not doing this because I want to be some kind of hero, I'm doing this because they deserve to be punished. You guys were little kids grieving your parents instead of being there for you, showering you with love in times of need they took advantage of that by abusing and torturing you guys. If not for you think about Ani and Kshitij don't they deserve justice for the pain and suffering they endured. And I think your grandparents are stronger than you think. Do you think they will let it slide if they get to know about all this? Think about it man." I paused waiting for his answer.
When he still didn't answer I continued. "You guys are my family. The day I married Ani, her problems, her pain, her happiness became mine. And I want her abusers punished, I think even she does but just like you she is thinking about your grandparents. I want you guys to get justice. I'm here, I will support you in whatever decision you take. I will stand by you. Think about it." He sighed. There was silence for a few beats before he spoke.
"Okay, fine I guess it's time they know." He mumbled. "Don't do anything now, we will first tell them then we will start my uncle's destruction I guess." His voice took a sinister note. There was so much hatred and malice in his voice it was hard to miss. I knew the fucker is psycho but he just hides it well.
"Cool then we will tell them when we come back and I need to tell my wife about our plans."
"All right then." He agreed. "Oh one more thing, I know my sister is well you don't have to tell me that. And my sister would never forget about me. If I want I can make her leave you with a snap of my fingers, so don't fcuking piss me off." He muttered arrogantly.
"You wish asshole." I growled. God he is annoying.
"Oh I wish all right all the time that she divorces your sorry ass and comes back home to us."
"That is not gonna happen ever her home is with me now. Dream on." I hung up without waiting for a reply. God he pisses me off so much. I groaned now we have to wait. I sighed and looked at Ekansh who was silently watching me with amusement in his eyes.
"He doesn't like you much does he." He smirked.
"No he doesn't, I'm tolerating him for my wife. But you know he's not that bad, just worried about his family and loves them more than his life. He can be a dick sometimes but he is a good man when he is not threatening to take my wife away not that he could." I stopped when I heard Ekansh laugh, I looked at him and realised I was just praising Rajvansh. What the fuck is wrong with me? I shook my head. "Forget whatever I just said."
"Fuck this is epic. I must tell him what you just said." He chuckled.
"Don't even fucking think about it, I'll kill you if you do it." I warned him. I sat back picking up all the paper and arranging them together. "Okay listen, doing do anything with Sanjay right now. Rajvansh wants to first let their grandparents know then we can proceed. Okay?" Ekansh frowned.
"Why do we have to listen to him?" He grumbled.
"Because like it or not this does concern him more than us so let's just wait and do this his way." I explained. He grumbled but nodded anyway. Just then there was a knock on the door.
"Come in." He called out. The door slowly creaked open and Ani popped her head inside. She smiled when her eyes landed on me. My chest tightened god how beautiful she is. Her one smile is enough to undo me. "Come in Anika." She walked in.
"Hey guys." She smiled at Ekansh and stood beside me, She placed her hand on my shoulder.. "Are you done with your work?" She asked. When he shook his head, she turned to me and raised her eyebrow.
"We are done baby." I interlaced my finger with her. "What's the matter?" I pressed a kiss to the back of her hand.
"Everyone is going to the fair, So I wanted to ask if you guys want to come." She looked at the both of us with a hopeful expression.
"Of course baby, we will come." I answered standing, I placed the file I was looking at on Ekansh's table. "So get up, why are you still sitting?"
"Uh excuse me I never said my work is done and I wanted to come." He scowled annoyed.
"Come don't be like that dude everyone is going." I urged him. I know If I leave him he will be cooped up in this study working himself until he forgets everything.
"Come on Ekansh, everyone will go back to their homes tomorrow and we only have today." My wife said, after a few beats of contemplation he sighed and nodded. Anika grinned and looked at me. I wrapped my hands around her waist and pulled her closer to me and kissed hair. "Okay come downstairs, I'm just going to our room." she said and started moving to the door.
"I will come with you." With that we headed to our room. "What were you doing? You haven't answered my text." I asked as we moved into our room.
"I was just with Sachi. You know her friends came over so I was meeting with them." She said as she moved into the closet. "Oh god we have to pack all this when we come back." She whined. "Avy I'm not packing any of these you're packing them." I walked into the closet to see her frowning at the mess with a pout and her hands on her hips. I chuckled and moved towards her and took her into my embrace. She wrapped her arms around my waist and looked at me with a beautiful smile. "You are doing all the packing." She declared.
"Okay," I pecked her lips. "Now why did you come here?" I asked.
"Oh right! God, you make me forget things." She rolled her eyes and moved away from me. "I want to change out this saree before we go." I hummed and stood leaning beside the door of the closet. She selected one of her jeans and tops. "Now if you excuse me I will get changed and be right back." She said as she started removing her jhumkas.
"You want me to leave." I smirked as I walked towards her.
"Yes, I want to change and I know if you are here we are never leaving this room." I pulled her towards me and nuzzled my face into her neck and started pressing open move kisses behind her ear. "See this is what I was talking about." She gasped as I bit her ear lobe.
"Then maybe we should just skip this hmm." My hands moved on to her bare waist slowly moving towards her breast.
"Not now Avy." She said as she ran her hands through my hair. I sighed and moved back.
"Okay get changed, I will behave." I pressed one last kiss to her cheek and moved back.

As I strolled hand in hand with my beloved Anika through the vibrant Udaipur fair, I couldn't help but marvel at the magical atmosphere that surrounded us. The fair was a symphony of colours, sounds, and fragrances, but nothing compared to the radiant glow on Anika's face. Her eyes sparkled like stars, reflecting the joy and excitement that filled her heart. Amidst the bustling crowd, I walked hand in hand with my beautiful wife. Her smile was like a ray of sunshine, brightening up the world around us.
The sweet aroma of cotton candy and popcorn filled the air, and the carousel spun merrily in the distance. As we passed by a romantic Ferris wheel, I couldn't resist the temptation to take Anika on a ride to the top. "Hey, let's go on the ferris wheel." I murmured against her hair. Our family was walking behind us playing the games in the stalls.
"Okay." She squealed like a little girl. Her excitement brought a smile to my face. We moved towards the line of tickets and bought two tickets and waited for a few minutes before it was our turn to climb in there. "Let's go." She pulled my hand and we walked and sat inside. After a few minutes it started to slowly move up in the air. Her hand clasped in mine and we sat looking at the view. "I always wanted to go on a ferris wheel with my boyfriend like in the movies and books and I'm getting to go with you." She said, turning towards me.
"Boyfriend?" I raised my eyebrow as my hand tightened around hers. She slapped her forehead and shook her head.
"I wanted to experience it with my boyfriend in my college or highschool but since I didn't have one I have to do it with you." She said with mirth clear in her voice as mischief danced in her eyes. "Aab kya kare aap se ho Shadi ho gayi meri." She sighed as if she is disappointed.
(Now what should I do, I'm married to you .)
"Oh really." I narrowed my eyes and pulled her closer making her sit on my lap. She shrugged trying hard to stop the smile from spreading across her lips, I shook my head. Up in the air, the city's lights stretched out before us, and I couldn't help but get lost in the enchanting sight in front of my eyes the way her eyes shimmered with love and mischief. As the wheel slowly turned, I wrapped my arm around her shoulders, pulling her closer, feeling the warmth of her presence. Her hands moved to my neck and turned to look at the view.
"Avy, this is amazing!" Anika whispered, leaning her head against my shoulder.
"I'm glad you're enjoying it," I replied, gazing into her eyes. "But honestly, you're the most amazing thing here." She blushed, and I felt my heart skip a beat. At that moment, time seemed to stand still, and it was just the two of us, suspended in the night sky, wrapped in our own little world. The cool evening breeze tousled her hair, and her cheeks were flushed with excitement. Her eyes met mine, and I could see the love and happiness reflected in them.
My heart was pounding as I reached out and gently cupped her face with my hand, drawing her closer. Our lips met in a soft, tender kiss, and it felt like time had stopped. In that moment, all the sounds of the fair faded away, and it was just the two of us, wrapped in each other's arms.
The Ferris wheel slowly continued its descent, but we were lost in our own little world. It was a moment of pure bliss, and I couldn't have asked for a more magical setting to share this intimate connection with my wife.
As we pulled away, I gazed into Anika's eyes, and a sense of wonder washed over me. Our love was a beautiful journey, and every moment like this was a treasure to cherish forever. The Ferris wheel ride might have come to an end, but our love story was far from over. With Anika by my side, every day was an adventure, and every kiss was a reminder of how lucky I was to have her as my partner for life.
At that moment I promised myself that I was going to love and cherish her for the rest of our life.
