"Okay, can you like repeat what you just said? I thought I heard say something being-"
"He is kidnapped."
"By Esdeath."
"I know. Unbelievable, right?"
The members of Night Raid have all heard what Leone and Lubbock explained to them after they come home from having Tatsumi participating in a tournament to get some prize money for the village.
What they expect was for Tatsumi to bring home with lots of gold, what they did not expect is how Leone and Lubbock told them that Tatsumi is taken by Esdeath of all people.
Needless to say, this doesn't bode well for anyone who heard them.
"We need to save him!" Ieyasu said in desperation.
"And how are we gonna do that? Tatsumi is in the palace where it is layed with traps and swarming with guards. There is no way in Hell we are going there without a plan. And we don't know if we even have a plan to do that." Mine said, her tone in frustration.
"Well, we have to try something. You said that this Esdeath person was a sadistic monster who had no qualms murdering many people, encouraging his soldiers to rape and slaughter and other horrifying stuff. Surely there is something." Sayo said, also in desperation.
"Believe me. We would but like Mine said, we can't go there without a plan and since Najenda is still at Revolutionary Headquarters, all we can do is pray that he'll be alright." Lubbock said in assurance thought he doubts that.
"B-but... But..." Sayo tried to say something before looking at Akame and said, "Akame, you're the acting leader. Surely you have a say in this? Like, should we save him or not."
"Akame. You and I both know that going to the palace is borderline suicidal. And we are undermanned as it is so surely you don't think what you are less likely to be doing." Leone said, her tone not wanting to have Akame do something stupid.
Akame looked as stoic as ever but internally, she is conflicted, mainly because yes, she is acting leader, but capable of authority? No, she isn't and while she wants to save Tatsumi, logic showed her how incredibly stupid that was without any sort of plan or a miracle to happen.
"Enough of this bickering."
Thirteenth's say shatters the tense situation like glass as they looked at Thirteenth who stares at them with a critical eye while Kali is standing beside him as he said, "We shall leave Tatsumi to his devices. So, unless there is opportunity, we shall stay here and wait for Tatsumi to come back. That is all we do. Nothing else."
"WHAT!?" Sayo yelled out, glaring at Thirteenth hatefully and the same can be said for the rest of Night Raid.
"Are you kidding me? Are you really that sore about losing to him? I can't believe you are so petty-" Ieyasu is interrupted when he got bitch slapped by Thirteenth, forcing his down, "Ow! My face!"
"Fool! How dare you to think of me as acting petty? Who are you to judge me before I could give an explanation?" Thirteenth said in irritation, "Make no mistake, however, Tatsumi's kidnapping is utterly a problem that no one knows on how to handle such a horrifying, by your standards, situation. But I am ashamed by your lack of faith in Tatsumi's survivability."
Everyone looked at him in confusion which made Thirteenth rolled his existing eye as he said, "Surely you all have not forgotten our fight, correct? The power of Ebonbane is more than capable of standing equal to even the decaying negative energy of my power. If the boy can handle and fight against even Death Itself, then he can handle anything. Now, is that a fruitful explanation or not?" Thirteenth said to them all.
As the rest of Night Raid heard him, they all have a look of realization at what Thirteenth said and as for Lubbock and Leone, considering that Tatsumi had killed a Butcher of a Corpse Guild, and they all know that they aren't a joke, there is some grain of truth to his words.
"I guess we'll just wait here and pray that he'll survive. Maybe this will be a chance for Tatsumi to get some information or something." Sheele explained, finding some silver lining to the situation.
Sayo looked doubtful and more so with Ieyasu as he said, "I don't like this. But looking at him now, I won't doubt that the strongest member here would live through this."
"I doubt that he will escape unscathed but I guess what Thirteenth said is right. If he can handle some arrogant zombie like Thirteenth, he can at least handle anything." Lubbock said, making Thirteenth to roll his eyes again.
"So, we'll stay here for now. That is all we can do." Akame announced as everyone nod at this, "Although what will we tell Bulat if he hears about this?"
"Tell me what?"
They all heard Bulat who is standing beside the entrance, his stomach wrapped in bandages as he looked at his friends in confusion.
The rest of Night Raid all looked at each other in uncertainty before Lubbock said, "H-Hey Bulat. Funny to see you stand up despite your injury. Listen, there is a really crazy thing about something-"
"Tatsumi is captured by Esdeath." Thirteenth stated bluntly, much to everyone's shock.
"Hahahahaha, that's very funny. By the way, where's Tatsumi? Hope he is alright." Bulat said and when he looked at his friends were all being silent and Thirteenth looking dead serious, Bulat face fell, "You're... You're serious?"
"....Yes." Thirteenth without hesitation.
"I woke up from my injury and the first thing I hear is that?" Bulat said which made everyone looked at each other in an awkward and cringe worthy moment, "I'll be in bed now. Wake me up when the nightmare is over." Bulat suggested as he walked away.
As Bulat walked away, everyone is glaring at Thirteenth, minus Kali, who is sweating bullets as Ieyasu said, "WHAT THE HELL, MAN!?"
"I am not retracting the truth of what I said." Thirteenth said without guilt.
"Your truth sucks!" Mine said, glaring at Thirteenth which he just ignores without hesitation.

"And so this young man here..." Esdeath said as she showed off Tatsumi, still holding on to the chain of his collar, "Will be our new back up member. His name is Tatsumi."
To say that the Jaegers and the Seven Virtuous Champions were all stunned at the declaration would be understatement.
Thought a certain air-headed woman would say, "We have a new pet?" Ramiel said in a quizzical manner.
"What? Why would you say that?" Wave in confusion to her question.
"Because he is wearing a collar. So, I thought I should try cleaning that dog house I made if I ever get one. Or was it the other way around?" Ramiel asked, again, making everybody looking at her weirdly.
"Is she... Is she alright?" Seryu muttered to Uriel who just groans.
"Ignore her. What we want to know is why, Esdeath? Why would you have this..." Uriel said, looking at Tatsumi, still being held by his collar and said, "Boy be here. Is it that not a security risk?"
"I have to agree with Uriel, General Esdeath. It does seemed risky." Bols said to her.
"Do not worry. He'll have everything he wants here with all the protection possible and of course...." Esdeath looked at him with a blushed look and said, "He is not only our back up member but also a lover because for Tatsumi..." Esdeath then started to caress her cheeks and said, "He is perfect for me in every way possible."
Tatsumi could not believe what he had just heard. Did he hear her right? He considered him Esdeath's lover?
"I do appreciate of your... showmanship of 'love' but even I do not believe that slapping a collar on his neck show how he can feel 'loved' and more 'suffocation'..." Azrael explained it.
"I gotta agree with Azrael. That is not how love works." Run said, commenting on Tatsumi's situation, "If you want him to be your lover and not a pet, you might as well take it off."
"Well, I suppose you're right..." Esdeath said in reluctant understanding, "My apologies dear but I guess I should take it off now. I hope it isn't uncomfortable for you."
Tatsumi can only look at her in confusion, wondering if this is the same woman that his friends had explained is a sadistic murderous killer that doesn't bat an eye when a village had been razed or brutally torturing others to their absolute limit.
"While we are on a subject of love..." Esdeath turned to his subordinates and the Virtuous Champions as she asked, "Has anyone of you ever been on a relationship or married before?"
Ramiel was about to raise her hands and explained but Uriel said, "No one except you, Ramiel."
By then, it is Bols who raised his hands up, making everyone look at him in surprise.
"Oho. That's surprising. Is that true, Bols? Are you married or in a relationship?" Esdeath asked Bols.
"Y-yes..." Bols said in a bashful tone, "I am married to a beautiful wife for the last six years lately. I don't know if I could deserve a woman like her." He said in a proud tone.
While the Jaegers were all looking proudly at Bols, the Virtuous Champions all looked at each other and their expression are steeped in cringe and awkwardness.
"Wait..." Cassiel finally speak, his voice barely a whisper, "Is... He... The one... That mortal... Had-"
"We don't talk about that." Raphael interrupted him before saying, "Also, do fix that voice of yours. It is distracting."
"Apologies..." Cassiel said, "I... Didn't... Get my... Cough mints...."
"Uhm... Excuse me..." Tatsumi said as he nervously raised his hand up, "I'm honoured that you like me but I have no desire to serve the Empire so if I could-"
"Hehehe..." Esdeath giggled at him, "I'm going to enjoy doing to your acts of disobedience." Esdeath then smiled as she gives a blushing look and said, "And I know a lot that would make you submit..." She then flashed a sadistic smile and said, "If it will be... painful."
Tatsumi almost shuddered from what she had just said as he almost tempted to use Ebonbane and get out of here, even if he would reveal himself as their enemy.
But just as he was about to do that, Seryu beat him to it, interrupting his spur-of-the-moment action, "Okay, okay." She said, pushing herself forward as she said, "General, ma'am. I think we should give..." Seryu cough awkwardly as she said, "Your new lover some breathing room. Besides, don't we get our introduction with him."
"Hmmm, maybe you're right..." Esdeath nodded in understanding as she then said, "Go ahead, everyone. Introduce yourself to your new member of the team."
"Guess I'll go first..." Seryu commented awkwardly as she said, "Hey, Tatsumi. Remember me? The one that helped you before?"
"I.... well yeah... I guess..." Tatsumi said, looking at Seryu Ubiquitous as he clearly remembered her.
However, he also remembered him telling Najenda about her.

"I see. Thank you, Tatsumi. We shall use this information to our full advantage." Najenda said.
"Yeah. Wouldn't want to be surprised by someone using some dog looking thing to be underestimated. Also, Najenda. Do you know someone named Seryu Ubiquitous?" Tatsumi said to her.
This made Najenda look shocked that she almost dropped her cigar as she reluctantly asked, "W-where did you hear that name?"
"Well, she did introduce herself so, yeah, I guess. But still, you know her, right?" Tatsumi said.
Najenda just sigh before she then explained, "The higher ups tells of a girl that is young that always follow Ogre around like a loyal dog. And not only is she loyal, she is also Ogre's most fanatical and competent member of the squad, listening to his words like a gospel and always see everything as black and white. Meaning, she sees the Empire as a 'good force' to protect and serve and it's enemies as a 'bad force' to kill with no mercy. She is a mad dog, Tatsumi and is very dangerous."
Tatsumi looked aside, grimacing at what he is hearing.
"But, I do pity her. He wouldn't want to see his daughter looking like this." Najenda said in a sympathetic tone.
"'His daughter'?" Tatsumi commented on that statement.
"Seryu's father, Amadeus Ubiquitous. One of the most loyal, honourable, competent, charismatic and talented Captain of the Imperial Police who earned his rank even at a young age and is feared by his enemies as a 'Punisher of the Wicked', even having a reputation as an interrogation expert who will force criminals to confess their crimes, revealing information and make them regret their life choices. I even remember him skinning someone alive." Najenda explained on the last part.
"That's disturbing." Tatsumi muttered at that.
"Absolutely. But Amadeus' heart is still in the right place and so is his love to his family and loyalty to all citizens of the Empire itself." Najenda said fondly to the man before sighing sadly, "Unfortunately, he died."
"Oh, that's not surprising at all." Tatsumi said in a saddened but unsurprised tone, "Any ideas who killed him?"
"I don't know. Amadeus had made many enemies lately but he is very careful and he couldn't have made a mistake that had easily led him to his death. Amadeus is no fool to be killed that easily by either an ambush or a poison or a trap. It is all unknown." Najenda sigh in frustration, "Then again, he does have trouble restraining his emotions and he can be reckless at times but again, he is not stupid. But whoever killed him is either lucky or-" Najenda stopped herself from saying anything.
"Or?" Tatsumi said to her.
"It's... It's nothing. It's just that... Amadeus is a beloved member of the Empire, aside from the criminals, madmen and corrupt politicians, and these three were all too scared to touch him because he has evidence on them if they threatened him. So, who could have killed him is another question?" She said, contemplating on the idea in confusion.

Tatsumi remembered that and all he can do is smile, "Likewise." He said as he gives a hand to her but Seryu stopped herself as she backed away, "What? What's wrong?"
"Sorry, my left hand is sensitive." Seryu reason to him, showing her left hand to Tatsumi.
"Really? It looks fine to me." Tatsumi said, looking at her left hand.
She doesn't try to say anything else anymore as her fellow Jaegers started introducing themselves.
Wave was the first to do it, "I guess it's my turn then. The name's Wave, Tatsumi and it is a pleasure to meet you."
Tatsumi can only stare in a deadpan look at him and thought, 'Is this really how my friends feel when I made my introduction? Cause to me, he is just naive.'
"My turn. My name is Bols and a pleasure to meet you, Tatsumi." Bols introduced himself.
'Well, at least he's nice. The last I want is someone wearing a mask that is a jerk.' Tatsumi thought on him.
"I suppose I'm next. The name is Run. I'm glad to be of your acquaintance, Tatsumi." Run introduced himself to him.
'He is also nice. Also, what's his story?' Tatsumi thought in confusion towards Run.
Tatsumi then looked at a girl that seemed to be familiar to him. Noticing his stare, she just look at him and said, "I'm Kurome. Don't bug me too much and we'll get along just fine."
'What's her deal?' Tatsumi thought in annoyance to her.
Then came Dr. Stylish as he said, "And I believe I am the last one to make stylish introduction. Behold, Tatsumi, the true look and splendid glory of the one and the only-"
"His name is Dr. Stylish. That's all you know about him." Uriel interrupted him, making Dr. Stylish look shocked while Tatsumi almost squeak a laugh.
"Seriously, that's his name? What the hell kind of name is that?" Tatsumi said, ignoring the glare from Dr. Stylish.
"A name for someone who thinks of himself as intelligent but is anything but. Especially when he can't help but looking like an idiot who can barely know how friction works." Uriel explained as Dr. Stylish continue to fume in anger.
"How dare you all!? Why, if I ever-"
"Doctor... You're introductions are done. Move aside now." Esdeath said to him, making Dr. Stylish looked at her in surprise.
"B-b-but... General-" Dr. Stylish is then interrupted when Esdeath gives a death piercing glare on him, making him scurry back in fright at her killing gaze.
"Now, then. Aren't the Virtuous Champions going to introduce themselves to Tatsumi?" Esdeath said to them.
"The who?" Tatsumi said, noting the confusion about that.
"None of your concern, Tatsumi. All that you know is that we are out of the chain of command from the General and our orders came from the one and only, the Hierophant at our back and call." Uriel explained to him, making Tatsumi widened his eyes at what he said.
'The Hierophant? You mean this guys are-' Tatsumi thought in fear after almost surviving from their failed assassination attempt against the Hierophant.
"I am Micheal Caritas. A pleasure to meet you, Tatsumi." Micheal introduced herself to Tatsumi, making Uriel look at her in shock.
"Micheal, what do you think you are-"
"My turn. I am Ramiel Humanitas and don't worry, I will train you in the ways of not licking your balls..." She introduced herself, making Tatsumi looked at her in confusion.
"What?"
"Ignore her. Now, as I was saying-" Once again, Uriel is interrupted by someone.
"I am Gabriel Industria. I serve as the second-in-command to the Hierophant and the leader of the Seven Virtuous Champions. And I do hope that you are comfortable after your... well... kidnapping..." Gabriel said, chuckling awkwardly at that situation.
"Gabriel, not you too-"
"I am Azrael Patientia. If you want to request something, let me know alright." Azrael said in an assuring tone.
"All of you... would you please-"
"I am Ramiel Humilitas. And it is a pleasure to meet a new member of the new team, Tatsumi." He said with a nod.
"Who says anything about meeting a new member? Have you all not listened to me and my explanation? And can I please not be interrupted-"
"I am Cassiel Temperantia..." He said before coughing, "Apologies. The cough mints takes time to work."
As Cassiel is done with his introduction, they then looked at Uriel, wanting him to do his introduction. He then looked at his fellow Champions and with a groan of annoyance, he said, "Fine..." He said with a frustrated groan, "I am Uriel Castitas. There, happy?"
Tatsumi looked at him weirdly as he said, "What's his problem?"
"Ignore him, Tatsumi. He is just being cranky, that's all." Gabriel said with a humorous and teasing chuckle as Uriel growl in annoyance.
"General Esdeath..." Liver said, entering the room as he saw everyone in, "I have something to report. The soldiers have completed a reconnaissance of the area around Lake Gyoran."
"Excellent..." Esdeath said in a glad tone, "I believe that this will be our first big mission now. Are you all ready?"
"Of course..." Seryu said before as she then explained, "I heard that the criminals were all flocking over there lately."
"Indeed, and since we don't have anymore information on Night Raid, I guess we shall kill a few criminals there." Esdeath said.
"But what about if they surrender?" Bols asked which made Esdeath rolled her eyes.
"Only the weak and the pitiful should surrender..." Esdeath said before contemplating on something, "But if they do, make sure that you injure them first. I mean, they are going to be killed so let's make them suffer for their crimes."
Tatsumi looked at her in confusion on what she said. From what he had been told from Najenda, Esdeath is a sadist who follow a survival of the fittest mentality. But looking at her now, while it has that mentality, there is something about how business-like she is doing. Furthermore, she is willing to spare those who surrenders although he also knows that her mercy is just another thing about being cruel now.
He doesn't know about this but he could almost feel that Esdeath is... tempered? He doesn't know but he could at least get this chance to get any information possible.
"Alright, before we deploy I want you all to listen up. I want each of you to eliminate at least a dozen men, minimum, on this mission. This is the only type of work we'll be doing from now on. I trust that you're all ready for this." Esdeath said to her subordinates.
"I am a soldier and I will follow my orders without hesitation..." Bols said, as he tightly balled his fists. "Besides... someone has to do this job."
"I concur." Kurome said, grabbing her katana in hand, quite possibly a Teigu. "I will carry out all my orders without objection. I always have and always will."
"I... owe my life to a man from the navy..." Wave said, as he gazed down at his own Teigu. "When I asked how I could repay him... he told me to work my hardest for this country... so I'm going to do this... even if it costs me my life!"
"In order to grant a certain wish..." Run said with sigh. "I must advance in this world, and to do that I must do distinguished acts of service. I may not look it, but I'm overflowing with enthusiasm."
"And you doctor?" Esdeath asked, as she cast Stylish a sideways glance.
"Ha, my main principle is quite simple." Stylish said with a chuckle, adjusting his glasses. "The eternal pursuit of stylishness! Do you understand general!?"
"No." Esdeath said in a bored tone, "And what about you Seven Virtuous Champions? Are you-"
"You don't need to do this whole tirade, General Esdeath." Uriel said in annoyance, "We'll be going with you and that's all you gotta say. Now, I shall ready the ship to this Lake Gyoran or whatever it is. Hope that it isn't in too much disrepair." Uriel said as he walked out of the room.
"He's what?" Everyone said in confusion on what he had just said.

Also, you all should know that good stories should not be rushed and of all the things that I have made a message, Wattpad had the gall to order me to continue my story.
Well, excuse me but I have another life, you know.
