I'm sorry there's so many parts I might try put the smaller ones together when I'm finished but for now I'm just enjoying doing little sections when the inspiration hits!
The title is getting a little more ironic as this story continues tho lol... I'll make adjustments later...

"Legolas, move!" Your voice was raw as you yelled, releasing an arrow into the heart of an orc that stood, sword raised behind your brother.
"Ni 'lassui En!" He thanked, eyes wide, swinging back around.
The attack had lasted since you had escaped Mirkwood forest. The sun was staring to rise now but the sound of metal clashing against metal made you oblivious to the dawn of a new day. Tauriel and Legolas fought side by side, swinging their daggers into orc flesh, the blades glinting against the birthing light. They were so natural together, dancing through each strike, side by side.
You turned back to the fight, aiming your bow into the heads of 2 orcs, breathing heavy as they yelled in pain and crumpled. As the fight continued you jumped at the sudden soft impact against your back.
"I see your as clumsy as ever." You say as Eyreline defends behind you.
He lets out a soft, breathy chuckle. "I see your as stubborn as ever."
"Stubborn?"
"Yeah." He says, casting a quick glance behind to you as you kick off the orc from the end of your sword. The fight was too close for bows now. "You can't seem to leave a fight behind."
You glanced at him, quizzical and then understood what he was saying as your turned back to attack. You had made the first blow to the orc when you had seen it running away from where a horde had earlier attacked the dwarves as they made their escape from Mirkwood. You'd heard him mumble such words as he stalked the forest. You hadn't been there to help them so you sure as hell were not going to let him escape and return to his leader. Unfortunately, as you were not the Ranger in the group, you hadn't sensed that there were more following. And they were not happy at the sight of their fallen brother.
"Is it too late to apologise?" You asked through heavy breaths.
A strong laugh left his chest ad he jabbed the handle of his sword into an orc on his left, knocking it unconscious. "Never."
Gradually, the numbers dwindled and as Tauriel sliced her daggers through the last few, you let out a shaky breath, looking up at the bright sky.
The four of you grouped back, checking that one another were unharmed.
"Where do we go from here?" Eyreline asked.
"I suppose we continue following the dwarves. No doubt it was in the direction the orcs were heading." Tauriel said, wiping the blood from her blade.
"Laketown." You said suddenly.
Legolas turned to you, a questioning look on his face. "You think that's where they are heading?"
You turned to him and nodded. "No doubt they'll go there for refuge, if nothing else. It is the closest occupied city to the mountain. Any chance Thorin wants of regaining Erebor, he must face the people of Lake town first."
"If it is the same as when we last visited, Bard will be there." Eyreline said, passing you the water flask as you took a sip.
Legolas shot him a sudden glance. "You've been to Laketown?"
"Yes. Ayvire and I traded there a couple of years back."
"We helped Bard with some...inner city complications." You added.
Legolas nodded, casting a glance between each of you. "Then, Lake town it is."
Eyreline and Legolas walked forward but you opted to stay behind. You had not notice Tauriel set her pace beside you when you flinched at a sudden pain in your waist. Her gaze snapped to yours. "You are injured?"
You shot your eyes up to her. "It is nothing Tauriel. Please, I don't want them to worry."
"Ayvire, let me see." You checked to make sure Eyreline and Legolas were not looking. Quickly, you lifted your shirt and a small red gash presided there.
"See," you said, "it is nothing but a scratch."
She raised a brow. "Fine. But I will tend to it again once we rest. It is one thing for me to kidnap you from Thranduil, but another to let his princess die."
You scoffed. "I think I lost the title of princess the day I left. Not that I ever wanted it."
Tauriel smiled sadly. "You will have to face him one day, Ayvire. I mean properly. The wounds between you may be less subtle than that of Legolas and him, but they are still as present and as deep."
"Maybe if he finally recovers from Mother's death, I will be able to get through to him. But I'm not going back to that life, Tauriel. I found my purpose when I travelled with Eyreline. An elf, finally destined for things outside of her Kingdom's walls." A small smile touched your lips when you remembered your travels, your adventures, the people you had saved and the great magic you had seen.
Tauriel looked as if she would say something else but instead she shook her head and smiled. "You must tell me, now that we finally have a moments peace, of your travels, my friend."
A large grin covered your face. "Let me start in a place called Gondor..."
Legolas' ears shot up at the sound of your voice and he waited for you to catch up, listening to your tales of adventure as Eyreline expanded on the stories you shared, the four of you beginning your journey to Laketown.
