(Imagine Kili has been captured and you help the company to find him, the fear of losing your love making it hard to focus).

The Company were startled to see you like this. Your usual calm, sweet and playful nature betrayed to an anger that burned in you.
"We have to find him, Thorin. I swear to God I'll kill any orc that lays a hand on him." You stormed up to Thorin, making even him flinch a little.
"I know lass." He sighed. "We will find him. I won't rest until we do." He placed a hand on your shoulder and smiled sadly. Suddenly you felt the curse of rage wash away from you as Thorin's knowing gaze snapped you back into reality.
It had been about an hour since you had heard Kili yell. He only went out to collect fire wood. You would normally go together, joking and often ending in a play fight where Kili would stand on his top toes and keep the firewood above his head as you jumped to reach it. A blood curdling shout of pain had replaced any laughter this time. And you opted to give Bofur a hand with fixing his bed roll instead, making the noise echo in your ears as you leapt up and ran to find him.
You had ran to find the scene, an orc running off with Kili's bleeding body over his shoulder. You couldn't stop your feet from racing after him before another orc jumped out. It had disarmed you in your startled haze but Dwalin managed to follow up behind with an attack. You didn't care when he asked you if you were okay. All you cared about was Kili and all you could feel was your stomach sinking and your heart aching.
"I'm sorry, Thorin." You breathed. "I just need to find him."
"I know, (y/n)." He lifted your chin and locked his eyes on yours, "We will, I promise."
Thorin had become somewhat of a Father figure to you. Ever since the dwarves started noticing yours and Kili's long stares at one another while the other wasn't looking, and subtle flirtations while the other was definitely looking, they had guessed what was going on. But they didn't push it away. In fact they were thrilled by the bond you both shared.
You had met once when you were young at a royal gathering, your parents being good friends with Dis. But since you had left with your parents to live a simpler life, you hadn't realised how much you missed him til you joined the Company and saw his mischievous face again.
You both seemed to calm each other when you were panicked, which would happen a lot with all the energy you both had; you wanted to let the other know that everything would be okay, no matter how much your head spun.

As night approached you found yourself growing tired but you did not care. Your mind was set and it buzzed with urgency when you saw a soft light in a cave ahead of you.
"Bofur look." You whispered. The dwarf turned to you and followed your gaze to the cave. "Tell Thorin." He nodded, whispering to the dwarf beside until the message was passed along and Thorin stopped to turn and see the light behind the trees.
You all tried to keep quiet thinking that you would be most successful if you kept sneaking and avoided sudden noise.
"It's the closest trace we've had since this morning." You breathed and you saw Bofur's eyes light with hope before Thorin signalled to go forward.
As you reached the mouth of the cave you all froze at the sudden noise of footsteps coming from the side of the cave.
"We wait to see who comes, we can't risk them seeing us sneaking in and alerting the others." Thorin said.
Your eyes flickered to the cave and you paused when you heard a yell. "Kili." You breathed.
Your eyes darted to Thorin who had gone pale at the sound. "We must go, Thorin. Now."
"We can't all sneak in unseen, lass. We need to take down the outer layer first."
But your body wouldn't settle and you could feel your hands shaking. You glanced back at the cave and then back to Thorin. "I'm going in."
Thorin's reached a hand to grab your wrist. "It is unsafe to go alone, (y/n). We don't know how many roam this cave."
You shook your head, tugging your wrist free. "It's Kili, Thorin. I must." You heard Thorin quietly yell your name but you ignored it as you turned to enter the cave.
You managed to get through the corridor easily but became startled with each drop of water from the ceiling.
As you turned a corner you could hear gruff voices.
"He'll be happy we got the dwarf." You saw, as you peered around the side, it was a rather fat orc, chewing on a dead cooked rat. He spoke to two others who were sharpening their swords.
"I'd rather have some fun with it before we give it him. Can't we just have an hour more to torture him?"
"We've already damaged him enough, we leave him now!" Another snapped.
Your stomach dropped. Torture?
You felt your palms begin to sweat as you tried to push any thoughts of Kili's injured body away.
Raising a dagger you flung it forward for it to split into the wall and ducked away before you could be seen.
The orcs were startled, jolting form their seats. "What the-"
But before they could question what had happened, you plunged another so they would all turn to see the place it landed. You jumped out, throwing your final two at two of the orcs as they turned back around, impaling them into their skull.
The final orc finally let what had happened settle in and grabbed his newly sharpened sword. He swung it towards you but you twisted, grabbing a dagger from the wall.
Stuck.
You turned, smiling. "Good sir, I seem to have my dagger stuck in the wall, would you care to assist me? Or at least give me time to recover? A fair fight."
He paused and then anger took his face as he walked forward. "Shut it dwarf. You're going to pay now."
You audibly sighed. "Ugh why must you be so rude, Mr orc?" You placed your hands on your hips, frowning.
The orc edged closer, you could almost feel his breath. "I said, shut it." He swung, lunging forward. As he did you yanked the dagger as far out of the wall as you could, the handle sticking out but the blade still embedded. You leapt out of the way allowing the blunt end to contact the head of the orc, knocking him cold.
"Rudeness never pays, orc." You sighed, walking off to find Kili.
You only had to pass a couple more orcs before you found yourself in the dark underground. "Kili?" You whispered as loud as you could. "Kili?"
A grumble alerted your attention. "Here." His voice was hoarse and you felt your mind shake with thoughts.
"Kili, speak again. It's too dark to trace you."
He coughed. He was struggling to talk. Your eyes began to water. But you shook away. You continued walking.
"H-here." He tried.
You managed to hear him from your left and turned.
"Hh-er-"
His voice was in-front of you now.
Your hands sightlessly fondled the door before you to try and find a lock. You felt the slider and pulled it back, the door groaning as you did.
A sliver of light broke through and there you saw Kili slouched against the cold stone wall, battered and beaten. Blood marked his face and his body was limp. You forced yourself not to gasp.
"Kili." You breathed, your voice breaking at the sight.
You walked forward carefully, not wanting to startle him. You crouched in front of him.
"Kili, it's me (y/n). You're safe now, I promise."
He looked up and his eyes lighted. "(Y/n)." He breathed, a smile touching his lips. "God, (y/n)!"
You couldn't help your self, you leaned forward instantly and embraced him, trying carefully not to apply too much force and knock his wounds. "I am here. I won't leave you, not ever again."
You could feel him shaking a slight tremble in his voice. "I was so frightened."
"I know, Kili. But you're okay."
"I love you so much, (y/n). I thought about you every second."
Your heart stopped.
Love?
You both hadn't confessed it to one another yet. You lifted his chin so he would meet your eyes.
"I love you too Kili." You smiled and he placed his head against yours, noses touching. "More than words can say. I'm so sorry this has happened to you. I wouldn't have been able to live with myself if I'd lost you." You took in a breath. "But this isn't about me. I'm going to get you out. We're going to get you better again, Kili. I promise."
"But you haven't lost me, (y/n). You never could."
You looked at him lovingly. "I couldn't ask for more."
You would both escape soon. But for now, this was enough. And as you heard the endless steps of the company from above, you let your self breath steady. Kili was here, in your arms, safe.
