"Fuck," I cursed under my breath. I had been in the library for hours now and still hadn't made any progress on my essay. It was for Muggle Studies. I didn't even want to be in this class. It was of absolutely no use to me. Not to mention, my mind was slightly preoccupied with a certain green-eyed Hufflepuff. I couldn't believe it when I heard they were going on a date. Layla? And a Weasley?!? To be completely honest I felt slightly jealous of weasel boy. But she went on a date with him, not me. She likes him, not me.

"Draco," A smile spread across my face as she spoke. "Can I join you, I have to study for charms," her voice, was soothing in a way, It calmed me more than I would have expected.

"Yeah, of course," I replied cheerfully, she smiled and sat down on the couch while I sat leaning against the chair opposite to her. We sat in silence for about thirty minutes, I still couldn't figure out what I was doing so I watched her. She really was beautiful. I couldn't believe that out of all the people she could have sat with, she came over to me. She was kind, funny, smart, and so much more. I think I really do like her. But she is with Fred. The thought hurt me, more than I expected. I frowned, returning to my work. We were working on the history of muggles, but I had no clue who I was talking about. I let out a sigh of frustration and began cursing under my breath.

I look up from my book to see a frowning Draco whispering frustratedly under his breath. He's been awfully distant since I went to Hogsmeade and I wasn't entirely sure why. Elanor suggested he liked me, but by what I had heard about him, he would never like me, like that. So I assumed it was just stress. He looks like he's struggling with whatever he is doing so I decide to help him. I place my book open onto the couch where I sat, made my way around the small coffee table and took a seat next to him on the floor. He looks at me, confused. I look down at his work,

"Muggle Studies?" I ask quietly, "you struggling?" He scoffs but reluctantly nods his head. "Electricity, I remember Cedric doing this essay when he was in the fifth year," He looked over to me empathy clear on his face. "So," I begin explaining the whole essay to him. I tell him how all of it works, I talk about the appliances they use and the problems with electricity. We spend so long talking by the time we finish at least two hours have passed.

"I think that's it," he says a smile emerging on his face, "thanks Sunshine," I smile. I go to close the book we were reading from and so does he. Our hands brush together. I look up meeting his eyes. My hand fills with a warm sensation, almost like pins and needles. I see him smirk as he places the book down. "C'mon, let's go," he says, grabbing my hand and picking up my jacket.

"Wait, where are we going?" I laugh, he hands me my jacket and continues pulling me along,

"You'll see," he smirks as we run through the castle. Eventually, we find ourselves in the courtyard, the ground is covered in a thick layer of snow, and the air is frosty, causing my cheeks and nose to glow pink. I hear Draco laugh. I turn to where he is standing, and a ball of snow hits me directly in my face. I gasp, the cold only turning my face pinker. I quickly wipe away the snow and laugh, chasing after him. "Hey, Sunshine bet you can't get me," he taunts. I laugh

"We'll see." We spend half an hour just running through the courtyard laughing. It makes me feel happy again. I hit him right in the face,

"Layla!" He yells startled by the cold on his face, "I'm gonna get you back." His threats only make me run faster, I hear a snowball crash into the ground next to me and another further behind. I turn my head to see Draco, only running faster after me. I squeal, and before I know it, I feel the ground underneath me disappear, and my face hits the fresh snow. I laugh rolling onto my back, I hear Draco run over to me. "Does this mean I've won Sunshine?" I let out a sigh, thinking about it for a moment,

"If you'll help me up," I say, raising an eyebrow. Laughing, he takes hold of both of my hands and pulls me onto my feet.

"Thanks," I smile he nods still holding my hands.

"Jeez, your hands are freezing." He says concern evident in his voice, beginning to pull off his gloves. He was right, my hand were deadly red. "Here take mine," he smiles as he hands me his gloves,

"No, No my hands are fine, I wouldn't want you getting cold,"

"Layla," he pauses, looking into my eyes, "I'm fine, please you look freezing." I reluctantly take them, seeing Draco look at me, he seemed to feel guilty. I gently punched him in the shoulder,

"let's go inside," I said, smiling "It's getting dark."
