Author's Apology
I have been thinking of where to begin with my apology for the long silence without any prior notice! I did put the book on hold for sometime now, without actually announcing! I know it was wrong of me! But please forgive me like you always do. I'll try as much as I can to cover up! In the meantime, please revisit some parts of the story and refresh your memories. Please do bring to my notice any error you notice. -Ameer Naseer Ameen

It was a cool morning, the breeze blew gently and the clouds paraded the sky, keeping the sun completely out of sight. The rainy season finally announced its arrival at the usually dry and hot Suncity, no doubts the rains will soon dance on the dry land.

There in a room, a newly wed couple laid on their bed, sleeping soundly until the alarm clock screamed on top of its voice.

Lailah was the first to open her eyes, while Tariq remained completely deaf to the sound of the alarm clock.
She silenced the alarm and turned back to look at the sleeping figure of her husband.

Memories of the previous day played in her head as she relived all the event of their wedding. Yesterday was the climax. The wedding was blessed with the presence of many friends and family. They sang atop their voices as others danced till they could dance no more. They smiled, laughed and jubilated. Their hearts filled to the brim with joy and so much happiness, for they witnessed Lailah and Tariq take the vows of love, they witnessed a union of hearts.

"Good morning beautiful" Tariq said with his deep sleepy voice.

"Good morning handsome" She replied with a smile.

"How was your night?" He asked.

"You mean my wedding night?"

"Yes Of course"

"Well, it was..." She then held back the rest of her words making him crave for her answer even more.

"Come on! Say it already"

She moved her head gently and planted a kiss on his forehead, she then whispered into his ears words that ignited the sparks of an euphoric emotion in his heart.

"It was a night full of love, I could swear that you filled every inch of my soul with happiness. Thank you for giving me the best night of my life. I love you"

She gently whispered into his ears, and it went down his soul like an elixer, spreading a feeling that emanated life.

"Ahm..Ahm.." Tariq struggled to find his voice, and when he finally did, the struggle to find the right words began.
"I am..I am..I am..." He kept stammering.

"Shhhhhh" Lailah used her finger to shut him up, she then sealed his lips with a... You know what I want to say right? And they cuddled after it for quite sometime.

"Let's freshen up and go down" He said.

"Noo" She answered lazily. "Let me stay in your arms a little longer. It's been barely a day and you are already tired of me?"

"Forgive me your highness. My arms are yours to dwell in, for as long as you like."

"Better" She said rolling her eyes. She then cuddled him tighter.

After a few more minutes she got out of bed and he stared at her departing figure, wondering if love always tasted like this, like: honey on the tongue, like a flame in the heart and like an ice to the soul.

He trailed behind her to the washroom door. He stood there, deliberating whether to go in or not until her voice came.

"Don't just stand there, come in."
