What!" Aliyah screamed inwardly. Hafiz might not know, but his words had deeper meanings in her minds.
But then he clarified the statement.

"Call me your Friend" he Said.

"You are really flirting with me" She said in awe. "Ok then, i will call you Mr. Flirt."

"I was not flirting, its more like  pulling your leg"

"Its still flirting, i will tell my mom about this" Aliyah said like a child threatning to reveal the sin of another child.

"Oh please do not tell her, she will beat me" He said mimicking the voice of a guilty child.

"Oh no, she won't beat you"

"What will she do to me?"

"She will just get us married and you can flirt all you want"

"...but I don't want to get married..." He pretended to cry like a child, wiping tears that never existed in the first place amidst his fake sobs.

"hhahaahhhahhha" Aliyah couldn't hold her laughter back neither could Hafiz. There they laughed in a way they have not done for a while.

"You are mischeveous"  He finally said in his real voice.

"I am equally floored, i never knew you can be this.....ahm..."  Aliyah shook her head looking for the right word.

"Childish?" He asked.

"Kind of"

"There are diffrent versions of me. You just had the chance of meeting this side of me today."

"Its more lively and fun, i prefer it than that bossy side of you" Aliyah commented.

"I know, i just met a diffrent version of you too"

"Me? How?"

"The free girl in you, the happy you" he said.

"I've missed her too" Aliyah whisphered to herself.

"I heard you" Hafiz said.

"Oh...sorry" She said shielding her face with her palms. He smiled at that act. Silence then loomed over the two of them, as they dug deep whithin their induvidual toughts.

"Did i play along too much?" Hafiz tought.

"No" Aliyah was talking to herself again.

"Do you always talk to yourself?"

"Sometimes"

"Okay"

They both went silent again.

"Close your eyes, i have a suprise for you."

Aliyah closed her eyes and waited for the suprise. When she peeked through one of her eyes, Hafiz was not there. She was about to fully open her eyes when she saw him coming from the direction of his car, so she quickly closed her eyes.

Wtith her eyes closed Hafiz had a chance to get a good look at her face, he could only conclude one thing, she is beautiful. But he quickly reprimanded himself for staring at her.

"Here you go" He placed the diary on her hand. "But before you open your eyes, make a guess"

"Your research journal?" She asked.

"No" he said.

"The texture feels familar....wait...is it...my diary!" She screamed of joy after openening her eyes. She uncunciously jumped up almost bumping into him.

She felt a grand ephiphany wash over her, that feeling of finding something you tought you have lost. She quickly flipped through the pages and indeed that later was lying peacefully on its bed of papers.
