This is a part I took out of a FanFiction Damian X OC I made, but I never really finished it cause it was being written based off of the movies and they haven't made another movie after the one about Tara - DespiTe the ending alluding to a new movie buT whatEvEr.
I didn't want to publish a story with no ending, so I might be publishing parts of it as one shots instead!

Erm this is also written in 3rd person so... yeah... enjoY!

It was a late storming night when a boy came running through the bushes with a backpack on his shoulders. Upon seeing the fire under an old run down stoned structure, he ran to it without noticing the girl laying in the flames. Upon hearing his heavy breaths, she rose and watched as he took his bag off his back and pulled out food.
The girl was shocked to see that he ate it himself, instead of giving it to her as all the others did. She had seen all of the people in the village before, parents brought their children, coupled teenagers would ask for good luck, and the elders would come to teach. But this boy was different, he didn't seem to notice her presence at all.
She didn't usually speak unless spoken to, but this time, she decided it was time for a change.
"E-excuse me..." She stuttered, tilting her head at the man as he looked around him in slight fear before laying eyes on hers through the bright fire.
"Holy sh-" The boy began to yell out the only sound and no words, fumbling over himself and his things to try and back away from the talking flame,
"Oh, my- to think that there would be just some random fire in the middle of the forest in the middle of a storm. Idiot."
"Are you speaking to yourself?"
He turned to glare at her, the girl's flames rose slightly in fear, never having been given this tone of expression before, and he quickly made a move to calm her, waving his hands about and apologizing, "I'm sorry - are you, uh, the fire lady they all talk about?"
"Am I? The people talk about me?"
"Of course they do. It's not every day you see a girl sitting in a giant flame of fire." The boy sighed, running a hand through his damp hair, "Uh, I'm not from around here. I'm... backpacking around."
"What is... Backpacking?"
"Backpacking is a shortened term for the act of travelling with only what I have in my bag." He jabbed a thumb back to his forgotten backpack and the girl nodded, "Anyways, do you have a name? Different people call you different things."
Her eyes widened slightly, an overwhelming sense of happiness filled her when she realized that someone was finally asking her for her name. It had been six years since who she believed was her father - in the faded memory she had of the older man calling to her before lighting her on fire - since she'd heard someone call her name.
"My name is Y/N."
He rose a brow, "Y/N? I was expecting something more... familiar to this country, but then again, you don't seem familiar to this country at all."
She smiled lightly in response, "Even though I've learned these peoples language, I do not know the familiarity of this countries culture, nor do I know about any others."
"I could teach you about mine if you'd like."
"Really?" She asked, smiling as she leaned forward towards the male.
"Whoa- okay, sorry, Y/N - but your flames are really hot."
She quickly leaned back, remembering that humans easily burned, while she instead ignited.
She sat with the boy for some time with the boy who introduced himself as Damian Al-Guhl, listening intently as he described what his home life and culture was like. He was out here on a mission of his own, and soon to return to his mother and his grandfather.

"Have you ever tried to put out your flames?" Damian suddenly asked after a long moment of silence when he had finished sharing all that he wanted with his family, the rain still falling heavily behind him.
"The humans used to, with buckets of water when I was young and my flame was small." She replied, smiling lightly as she looked over him as he thought.
"Why do you refer to them as humans?"
"Because humans burn, and I ignite." She answered swiftly, having asked this question to herself many times.
Y/N and Damian sat still and silent for a few more moments before Damian began to move back out towards the rain. Worried, Jane looked up to him in fear that he was leaving her, but instead, all he did was step into the rain. Jane watched as he outstretched his hand to her, and as she rose her own hand to take it, the droplets of water erupted into steam upon touching her flame. The more the rain poured down the more the fire lessened, until her skin was revealed without flame.
Her skin continued to steam, but Damian moved his gloved hand closer to hers anyway.
Slowly, he reached his hand for hers, waiting patiently as she flinched back from the idea of touching him, afraid to hurt him, before he took her fingers in his hand.
Jane looked up from the two hands to his eyes - bright green eyes that stared back into hers. It came to her then that she could see how beautiful he was, but she could not see how beautiful she was.
Damian began to attempt to pull her forward and farther out into the rain, in obvious hopes of demolishing her flames, and Jane quickly pulled back.
"What's wrong?"
"Don't you see? I am fire - I cannot leave this place."
He frowned, "That's just what they told you. It's not true."
"How would you know?" She questioned, "What happens if you get hurt, or if I light the forest on fire?"
"Y/N, it's raining, you won't."
"Listen, I appreciate you coming to visit me, and being kind enough to ask for my name, but I cannot risk the destruction I could bring."
Y/N sighed, casting her eyes down and away from the male in front of her, who stood with a defeated look, "This is where I belong, and this is where I will stay for eternity."
Steam began to mix with her fire and the girl sighed, attempting to make it go away.
"Are you crying?" Damian asked, realizing how her tears evaporated right as they formed, "Y/N, look at me."
She pursed her lips and turned her head, attempting to hide from the boy - but the light of her flame made it impossible to hide from anything or anyone. Damian came back into the make shift cave, sitting down with a huffed breath and staring hard at the girl before him.
"Y/N, don't you see that your tears make you human?"
"I am not human." She hissed, "I can't survive outside of the flame."
Damian groaned and Y/N attempted to send him a discreet glance. He stood and bent over slightly, reaching both his hands towards the fire.
"What are you doing?!" Y/N cried, snapping her head back to the male as he shoved his hands into the flames and grabbed onto her body, Y/N cried out, fearing she would burn his hands to the bone as Damian pulled her from the hot coals that she sat on and stumbling back into the rain.
The two stood breathing in silence, hanging onto each other as they listened to the harsh rainfall. Steam erupted from both of their bodies as the rain hit Y/N's skin, and slowly the flame went out and a small, plump girl with bright H/C hair stood in front of the boy. He chuckled to himself, watching as Y/N looked around in wonder.
"The fire is gone." She began, "The fire is gone, and I..." She stepped back, raising her hands and studying the colour of her skin, "I've never felt anything but heat up until now..."
"Don't you see, Y/N?" Damian grinned, taking her hands in his and catching all of her attention, "Fire is not just destruction and pain. Fire is light too. Being human isn't just about getting burned, it's about how we think and how we feel. You've laughed today, you've cried today."
"Are you saying I'm human?" Y/N wondered allowed.
"Yes. The only part of you that is godlike, are those damn flames." He exclaimed, "And from what I see, you are so much more than that."
