"Fancy a ride brother?" Elijah wandered into Silas's room. He  was bored staring at the ceiling with this textbooks opened in front of him. In his Elijah's hand were the keys to a McLaren

"Can't, grounded" Silas sighed, staring at the ceiling again. He let out an exasperated sigh and rolled in bed.

"Leave that to me" Elijah smirked, retracing his step to the kitchen. He tiptoed behind Maria, wrapping his arms around her "Mama, you look beautiful"

"What do you want Elijah?" Maria rolled at her eyes. She knew her son inside out to know when he wanted something. He wanted something

"Unground Silas so we can go out" He lifted his mother's chin to his face, kissing her cheek

"No, you spoil him way too much and he needs to realize his actions have consquence" She moved away from the counter to the sink, washing the potatoes.

"Mama, I spoil him because I never got the chance and he's clever to know what he does have consquence"

"Elijah, my answer is no. It isn't right to fight with people even if it was for your sake"

"Mama said no" Elijah informed Silas who already knew. Not a lot got passed their mother

"It's okay, I know what I did was wrong" He nodded. "You should go though, have fun"

"Brother, you know my idea of fun" Elijah said and left the room. On the way back to his room, his phone rang

"MacArthur" The person said

"Michaels" Elijah replied calmly with the hint of cheekiness in his voice

"Friend, how you've been?" Charlie tone changes to cheerful. Charlie Michaels, Elijah's best friend from day one.

"Good, where have you been lost? Can't be bothered to call a friend?" Elijah asked. He was a different person around Charlie. Charlie was the only person that understood him, everything he had been through. The person he could be vulnerable around

"Well, I've been busy with the new baby and a phone works both way" Charlie replied

"I called okay. Can I come and visit?"

"Do you even need to ask?" Charlie replied as Elijah felt lost for words

"I'll be there" Elijah confirmed, cutting off the call

He changed into a simple t-shirt and jeans, went shopping for his friend's daughter. Charlie wasn't the type to ask for money from Elijah despite his circumstances but it didn't stop him from buying it for his daughter. He brought a boutique and a teddy bear

He got into his Bentley and drove back to his old neighbourhood. He became successful, moved out. Unfortunately, his friend didn't want that lifestyle. Charlie was a lawyer at a clinic that took normal everyday cases but he had potential and he turned down multiple corporate jobs

He stopped between a two storey house, pacing to the door and knocking it. His friend emerged with a huge smile as they greeted each other.

"Don't get mad but I got a present which you can't refuse" Elijah said cautiously dashing back to his car

"Elijah, man. What have I told you?"

"It's a gift for her. Please"

"Fine, come on in"

He walked into the house and through to the living room. Although it was tiny, it was home and welcoming. It felt homely.

"So where is she?"

"Anne just put her to sleep. She'll be up in an hour. Anyway, how are you?" Charlie collapse in the sofa beside him

"As always and now according to Tumblr, I am number 1 eligible bachelor in New York" Both of them burst out laughing

"Well, you're attractive and a billionaire" Charlie smiled

"Thanks but don't you already have a wife?" Elijah point to their wedding photos.

"Ever think of settling down, wife, kids?" Charlie asked and quite frankly he never thought about it. He wanted to be there for his family but wife meant falling in love and that something he wasn't prepared for.

"Not really" Elijah shook his head

"Not every girl is like Patricia" Charlie gave him the I know you look

"I know but when you have money, that what they after. I want someone who wants me for me not my title or how much mt salary is or how much I have in the bank. You're lucky because you already a girl that want you for you"

"I suppose I am" Charlie gets lost in deep thought "Fancy a drink?"

"Thought you'd never ask"

It was on a rare occasion that Elijah went out to a bar and that was only because to keep up appearance. His new partner was a party guy and while he loved to be at home, he had to sacrifice to appear he was part of the deal.

He was sat there for roughly two hour, staring at the glass in front of him. He wasn't a much of a drinker.

The rest of the bar was full of men in suits and a couple of women. He was sat there in his black suit, glancing at the scene. A while later, he got his phone playing candy crush.

"Playing candy crush whilst in a bar is a bit odd" Someone slide into the seat beside him

Elijah looked up to see a young boy sitting next to him. He looked roughly in his early twenties

"And you're too young to be here"

"21 actually" The boy replied. "Tristan" He holds out his hand

"Elijah MacArthur" They shake hands

"Wait, the Elijah MacArthur. I'm a huge fan" The boy grinned. They was something he liked about the boy.

"Shouldn't you be studying or something" Elijah tried to keep the conversation minimal

"Nope, finished school with my degree in business and now trying to find a job" He shrugged

"My card, call if you have trouble finding a job" Elijah nodded back. Elijah liked helping out the younger generation and honestly the boy reminded him of Silas.

"Wow, thank you"

"Excuse me" Elijah got up, walking to the back of the bar when someone bumped into him.

"I'm so sorry" it was a girl's voice. He glanced at the girl, locking eyes with her and instantly he recognised her

"Patricia"
