"Hey Charlie, thanks for coming man" Elijah greeted his best friend. They sat down at the bar

"Why do you call me and ask for the suit?" He sat down and ordered a whisky

"See the table back there, recognise those guys?" Elijah swung back

"Yeah the football team from school. Bill, Justin, Fred and Spencer" He named some of the guys

"We're going to join their game. Every Thursday they come and play poker."

"No Elijah, this is going way to far" Charlie shook his head. Charlie and Elijah went back to middle school. They were both of the same background and kind of stuck together.

Charlie moved in life but Elijah was still stubborn, pinning after revenge

"No, it's teaching them a lesson so they don't do it to anyone else"

"Elijah that was in the past. Let it go, we are adults now"

"Follow my lead please"

"Fine"

Charlie and Elijah approach the table. Justin is the first to look up. He takes a sip from his drink and shoves Bill.

"Mind if we sit?" Elijah pointed at the seat

"Yes, this is only for the inner circle" Bill replies.

"Oh come on Bill. We go back"

"How do you know my name?" Bill jumped on the defence

"Bill, he's Elijah" Justin explained, rolling his eyes

"Remember me?" He smirked

"No, he can't be" Bill looked at Elijah in disbelief

"The Elijah MacArthur is the same Elijah from high school" Justin announced to the rest of the table, taking another swing of his drink

"You better believe it. Want to know what I'm worth now? Justin why don't you tell him?"

"32 billion dollars" Justin rolled his eyes

"Hey, I just want to play" Elijah sat down. Charlie sat down beside him, uninterested in their conversation

"Sure why not" Bill grumbled under his breath. He always hated the way Elijah carried himself even as kids he would never swoop low

"Hey Eli, do you know how to play?" Charlie whispered in his ears

"Yes, I watched it on TV, how hard can it be?"

He was lying, Elijah had planned this for over months know. He worked out their timings, knew their weakness and know how to play. He had the upper hand

"Hey" Elijah walked into his brother's room. The room was large in space. With built in shelves on the back wall coloured white and black. A double bed in the middle with black and white covers. He had bookshelves on the wall by the door with a desk which had a Mac book on it. There was a small rug in the centre of the room where Jar was playing and Silas was sat on the windowsill looking out with his guitar in his hands.

"Hi" he replied, not even looking at his brother

"How's the school?" Elijah asked despite knowing the answer

"Nice"

Elijah nodded back and they fell into silent. There was never silence between the brothers and they were both hurting

"I'm sorry if I might have hurt your feelings the other day. It was late but still no excuse to act the way I did"

"It's okay"

"So we cool?"

"I guess" Silas shrugged and refocused on his guitar.

"What's bothering you?" Elijah sat beside him on the windowsill

"Nothing I'm fine"

"You sound like a teenage girl. Are you sure you're okay?" Elijah chuckled then turned serious when he realized Silas wasn't laughing

"Yep"

"Okay" Elijah ruffled his hair and left the room. Silas place his head against the wall. What was on his mind would tear him and Elijah apart. He could never know.

Back in his room, Elijah felt his brother was hiding something from him.

"Elijah" Maria called

"Coming mom" He yelled back and dash down the stairs

"Tomorrow we are having lunch with Lazio and Rocco family. They are your father's closest friends"

"Okay mom"

"They have a nice daughter"

"Mom. No. I'm not marrying her" Elijah declared

"You're 28, how long are you going to stay single. I can't wait for Silas for grandchildren"

"Mom!"

"What? A mother can dream if her son can't" She shrugged

"I'm not looking for love right now. I want to focus on my career"

"Baby, I'm your mother. I know everything. I know that girl breaking your heart more than you let on and because of her you think all are like that. She was stupid and I bet she regret it now but not all are the same. There are some who will accept you for you"

"Ma, no one sees anything but money. Whenever I was younger, no one looked my way because we were poor and now that we have everything, everyone looks. Money makes the world go round"

"You're wrong and you know it. There are people who don't care if you're rich or poor but want you for you. You just got to be willing and make yourself vulnerable to see that and you're scared. Scared to be vulnerable after last time"

"They humiliated me like it was wrong to fall for someone like her."

"No because she could never deserve you"
