"First up is Silas MacArthur." The principal introduced and walked off the stage. Silas got up, walked to the centre of the stage, and looked into the audience. He saw his brother and got that confidence boost

"I transferred a month ago, and well, this place is different from my old place. I was asked to talk about something that mattered to me, and nothing matters to me more than my family. I have a small family, my parents and my brother. My dad, who's my best friend. My mom, who is the best, and my brother Elijah, who literally is the rock of our family, not forgetting Jar, my puppy."

A photo of the puppy comes up on the screen behind Silas, which seems to have everyone in awe.

"He looks adorable, but he's the laziest puppy in the world. All he does is sleep. Back to my point, me and my brother and I get on well. He's your typical older brother, but he spoils me more than our mom would like, and in the midst of it all, I think we both forgot we change, all the time

"I'm changing. He's changing, and I don't want to lose him. Not until he gets a wife, but I don't see that happening. He pointed to Elijah, and the room burst into laughter. "He's ugly,"

The audience applauded, and Elijah couldn't be more prouder than his little brother. He walked off stage, sitting down beside his brother

"Elijah, I'm sorry for what I said. It was selfish."

"But honestly, I'm so sorry. You are the reason dad can be proud. Mom feels safe, and I have a better chance in life."

"You said your part now. Listen to mine. It's me and you. I was so proud of you up there. You did humiliate me, but you did well." Elijah said

"Me and you,"

"Brother, this my friend Nicole and her sister Diana," Silas introduced, and Elijah hoped it wasn't the same Diana.

Yep, it was her

"You again," He muttered, running a hand through his hair

"Hi Elijah," she waved with a hint of a smirk on her face.

"You two know each other?" Silas looked between them

"Yeah, she might be my new business partner, emphasis on might," Elijah mumbled

"Oh,"

"I'm winning him over," Diana said

"Great, we'll leave you to it. We're going to be outside. " Nicole and Silas disappear in the crowd. Elijah and Diana awkwardly stood next to each other. They walked through the corridor, following the crowd outside.

"Your brother really looks up to you," She noted, and Elijah nodded

"I see that where you did your research," Elijah said

"Eh, doesn't really count if he told me,"

"Clever, I would have done the same," He shrugged. They were more alike than he originally thought. He stepped closer to her, leaning down and whispering in her ear. "You know we are quite close, so let me warn you. I don't like my brother being used to get to me. So if you want something, get it through me or I'll make you pay."

"You done your research, and you know that I either make the company sky rocket or crash into the ground, so make your choice wisely," Elijah threatened and walked off

The words hit deep for Diana. She managed to keep cool when inside she was trembling.

"It wasn't intention," She followed him. "I know you wouldn't give me the time of day,"
