Recap: Y/N- I don't cry anymore every time I remember you or hear your name, but it doesn't mean my heart isn't continuously breaking. Something inside me knows that I will never get over you, you are the unfinished chapter in my book of heartaches. I keep reminding myself that I shouldn't keep looking out the window, hoping to see you walk back into my life and piece me back together.

Y/N- Hey

Yes, it was weird texting Monty after I hadn't talked to him in almost a year. But something inside me told me that the only way that I could fully move on was to have a conversation on how we ended things.

Y/N- Monty, please answer me. I know you're reading my texts

Monty- What is it Y/N?

Y/N- I want us to talk. About how everything fell apart between us.

Monty- Y/N, we already talked about it. I don't want to do this again.

He was right. We had already done this before. But not the right way. Not the way I wanted it. Not the way I had planned.

It ended in a big argument with meaningless words being thrown at each other back and forth until one of us walked away.

I just wanted a civil conversation. A simple talk about what went wrong and what we could've done to stop it or at least see it coming.

Y/N- Montgomery you and I both know it didn't go the way it should've went.

Five minutes went by and I hadn't gotten a response.

Y/N- please Monty.

He's gonna say no...

Monty- okay

I smiled. A genuine smile that hadn't seen the light of day ever since Monty and I broke up.

Y/N- meet me at Monets tomorrow at 3?

Monty- Alright, goodnight Y/N

Y/N- goodnight Montgomery

*************************

It was two thirty in the afternoon and I was getting ready to meet with Monty.

Not going to lie I was incredibly nervous. I didn't want this to end badly. I wanted to be able to have this conversation and be able to finally move on and live my life without this feeling of never being able to forget.

After I got ready I got in my car and drove to Monets. As I parked, I saw Monty's blue truck already parked down the street, meaning he had gotten here earlier than me. I wonder if he had been wanting to talk to me this whole time too.

I walked into the small café, letting the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and hot chocolate fill my nose.

I looked around and saw Monty sitting at a table, bouncing his leg nervously as he waited for me.

I slowly approached the table and he looked up at me. I tried to smile but I was nervous so it was only small, "hey," I greeted.

He smiled back, "hi."
