Stars shone, drenching their skin; coffee warmed their finger tips. His hands softly skimmed over her features, no longer searching; all he needed had been found. Moonlight poured onto the black bed sheets, the cool night's air slipping through the open window, grasping at the white walls. His breathing was steady, stirring the stillness in the cosy bedroom. Her body remained distant and compact.

Noise from the street flittered and filtered its way through the apartment and his mind cleared. Clearance is different to clarity, mind you. Misinterpreted mindfulness left him dull... empty. Trying to make sure she's fine; she had not yet, ever, found what it meant to be fine.
