The snow pelted down on the poor boy, sitting at the bus stop. He liked it though, he was like a creature, he didn't feel the cold, and he loved just sitting in the snow.

He took his shoes off at the door and preceded to the empty kitchen. "Mum, I'm home," he muttered to himself, knowing that her drunken self will be asleep on the floor somewhere. He poured a bowl of corn flakes, only to realize the milk was off, no good anymore. He went to his room and ate very crunchy cornflakes, without the milk.

----------------------------------------

He collected the money from the bench, his mother somehow always remembers to place it on the bench, it was grocery money, he hadn't had any new supplies in at least a month. No milk, for at least a month; he thought to himself. He quickly put the best looking clothes he had on, not ones with holes, and marched out the door, heading to the supermarket. $50 for the next few months, doesn't do anyone much.

----------------------------------------

His mother had been completely sober all day, waiting for the child support women to come. He and his mother both dreaded this women. She had called his mum an unfit mother; maybe she was, but she showed him she loved him, whenever she could, whenever she was sober.
