Big Celebrations - New Year

Her fingers slipped through his as he weaved through the overbearingly large crowd in Times Square, New York. Her heart raced with anticipation for the never-before-seen celebration. His eyes were peeled looking for the perfect spot to see the beautiful foreseen celebratory fireworks and displays. The crowd started to chant along with the presenters for the night - counting down, They still hadn't reached the destination and his heart was beginning to sink lower into his stomach; he didn't want to let her down after all the planning. He tugged a little harder on her hand and walked a little quicker as the countdown was slowly coming to a close.

5 - He was racing for the perfect spot, her hand was getting sweaty from the awkward strangers proximity.

4 - His slightly tripped on litter on the ground, but for once her light laugh didn't bring a smile to his face.

3 - She tugged him to a stop, telling him just to stay away from the supposedly 'perfect' spot. He continued to pull her along.

2 - They were literally sprinting. Their heavy breaths were lost in the loud cheering from the locals and tourists who had come and gathered all for the same reason.

1 - They suddenly came to a halt.

His arm snaked around her waist and his other hand knotted itself through her blonde hair. They both smiled into the kiss and pulled away; smiling like the biggest dorks. He pointed to the sky and there was the most amazing display of bright fireworks she had ever seen. He pulled her body in front of his and wrapped his arms round her waist, his chin on her shoulder. "We found the spot," he said loud enough to be heard. Her mouth hung open in an un-lady like way, but she couldn't cover her complete awe. Their hands interlocked and they wished each other a Happy New Year - but goddamned, their year certainly already had a fabulous kick-start.
