Night falls in the arena after a particularly bloody day. You lay down in what you consider a safe place, contemplating, reveling, or worrying over the events that took place around the Cornucopia.
The anthem plays, resounding through the entire arena. You sit up as the pictures of the dead tributes light up the sky.

You lay back down, sighing. Nine tributes are dead, friends and threats both. Relief floods your thoughts, sending strands of warmth throughout your body. Three careers are gone. Districts 2, 9, and 10 are already completely out of the competition. Ten districts remain, but for how long?
It doesn't matter to you now, for tonight, you sleep soundly.
Tonight you are safe.
