Summary - As Rubens girlfriend one of your daily habits starts to clash with his.

Enjoy!

It was no secret that Ruben liked his routines. His many routines. However since the two of you got together things naturally changed. For instance, Ruben would often adapt to your presence in his home by being done with his workouts in the mornings in order to spend the evenings with you. He also moved his cheat days to whenever you had your days off from work so that the two of you could go on date nights together. It was all going good, until two months of living together. That's when one of your habits really clashed with Rubens.

"Would you please stop singing!" Ruben said, his head poking through the bathroom door.

You stood with a towel wrapped around your body and water dripping from your hair. "What?" You said, removing the toothbrush from your mouth.

Ruben ran a anxious hand through his hair. "Y/N. Please stop singing in the shower. It's seven in the morning for fuck sakes."

You stood frozen like a statue. Judging by the expression in his face, Ruben was really angry with you.

"I...I'm sorry." You stuttured. "Was it that bad?"

Ruben sighed. "It's not that you sound bad babe, your voice is fine. It's just that...." He chose his next words carefully. "I've got to get my sleeping hours in but every morning I'm woken up early by you making all of that noise in the bathroom."

"All that noise?" You frowned. "Thought you said I sounded good."

"No, I said you sounded fine"

"Right, fine." You nodded. His words were very harsh but you understood how important sleep was to Ruben. "It won't happen again." You reassured.

"Thank you." He sighed and left you in the bathroom.

At the Swarovski store where you worked you told your friend Nicole about what happened that morning at Rubens.

"Are you sure you're okay?" She asked concerned.

"No. You should have seen him. I thought he was breaking up with me right then and there. The worst part was probably when he left me there in his bathroom. It made me feel like some annoying guest or a one nightstand that he was trying to get rid off."

"So what are you going to do?"

You shook your head. "Stop singing in the shower, I guess. It's not that big of a deal." You said, however the knot in your stomach told you otherwise. It hadn't gone away since that morning. Nevertheless, to get your mind of things you and Nicole decided to have a few drinks after work. Ruben was on a away game and wouldn't return home until late. So after the drinks at the bar you and Nicole went to her place and that's where you spent the night. Lying in bed you couldn't help but to think about Ruben. He always were a bit on his toes whenever his team had an away game. He told you once that he felt like he had to be at 120% when preparing for a game that wasn't at the Ethiad Stadium. Perhaps that should've made his behavior this morning make alot more sense, however you still couldn't help but to feel hurt by the way he lashed out at you.

You returned home the next day to Ruben already gone to training. It was your day off from work so you spent it cleaning the apartment. You had dinner alone since Ruben would have his at the training ground. And it wasn't until you stood brushing your teeth in front of the bathroom mirror that there was a light knock on the door.

"Ruben?" You were quick to spit the toothpaste out of your mouth and gurrled some water.

"Hey." He smiled.

"Hey." You said, feeling slight heat rising to your face. Seeing Ruben again after a long time away from each other often brought back memories of the first time you met. The thought made you blush.

"Where were you this morning?" He asked and came up to wrap his arms around you from behind.

"Nicole's." You said. "Didn't you recive my text?"

"I did. I just didn't think I'd wake up in bed alone."

You chuckled as your eyes met in the mirror. "Did you miss me or what?"

"Actually I did." He said, bending down to kiss the lobe of your ear. You squirmed as his rough beard tickled the side of your face. "I really, really did." He muttered and continued serenading your shoulders with wet kisses.

"Ruben." You giggled. His arm snaked around your waist to hold you still. For some reason there was a eagerness to the way he kissed you.

"Ruben please." You gasped, your head fell back to rest in the crook of his neck. Ruben pulled down the lace to your top, exposing more skin for him to kiss.

"I was late to training today, did you know that?" He said between love bites.

"You were?"

"Yeah, Pep wasn't too happy about it. But do you know why I was late?"

"Uh-uh?" You shook your head. It was getting difficult to talk. The way Rubens hands were roaming your body was really turning you on.

"I was late because my alarm didn't go off this morning. "

"Well, what time did you set it to go off?"

"That's the thing..." He chuckled and used one hand to strip you off your oversized shirt, leaving you to stand in front of the mirror in only your underwear. "Apparently I didn't set a time, I've never have."

"Oh?"

All movement paused as the two of you stopped to look each other in the mirror. You frowned at the way Ruben was smiling at you like a school boy who hadn't seen a pair of breasts before.

"What?" You said and stretched for a towel to cover yourself with.

"Don't." He said, grabbing your arm.

"Ruben." You frowned.

He shook his head and brought you forwards to plant a kiss between your shoulder blades. His chin then rested on your shoulder. "You are my alarm." He whispered.

"What?" You chuckled.

"Your singing is my alarm. I've never set a time to wake up since the day you moved in with me. Your singing is what's gotten me up every morning. The sound of the water running in the shower, along with your singing."

"Ruben I'm so sorry." Your head fell but was brought back up by Ruben's hand cupping your face. He turned you around to face him.

"Don't be." He said, eyes searching your face. "You being my alarm is a good thing."

"But last morning you said...."

"I know what I said." He sighed. "But I was wrong and I'm sorry."

You were lost for words. Perhaps it had just been his anxious thoughts about the away game that got him to lash out at you. Nevertheless all seemed to be well now.

"Do you forgive me?" He asked, since you hadn't said anything back. You were brought to stand on your tippy toes as his hands still held your head.

"It depends?" You smiled. "Does this mean you'll sing me a apology song?"

Ruben chuckled. "Come here you." He bent down to pick you up, swooping hiss hands under your legs in order to carry you out of the bathroom, bridal style.
