The next day soon rolled around and we got up early to get prepared for the day, plus, the more daylight we had the better. Today we were going to break in through the fire exit and scout out the inside.

I threw my backpack on my back and tied up my boots.
"All ready?" Daryl called.
I stood up and grabbed my bat.
"Ready and set to go."
He nodded then looked to Maggie and Glenn as they got ready to leave.
"Wha' 'bout ye two?"
Glenn bounced up and down, shaking his arms.
"Ready as I'll ever be.."
Maggie chuckled and walked to the door, holding it open for us.
"Let's get this over with then. The sooner it's done the better."
Daryl nodded in agreement.
"Quicker we can leave this shithole the better."
I scoffed and slapped his arm.
"The apartment isn't that bad."
"Ain't the fancy apartment I'm on 'bout, bun."
"Ah, you mean the city...yeah this place is pretty shit, isn't it?"
Maggie grabbed my wrist and dragged me out the door.
"We're not here to give reviews."
"Yeah..but this place is a dump."
"Well it's better than, Atlanta." Glenn chirped.
"Anywheres better than that dumpster-fire of a city." Daryl chimed in.
Maggie huffed and crossed her arms.
"Enough. We have stuff to do."
"You've got a person to do.." Daryl mumbled.

I hit Daryl's arm and dragged him out the door in a choke hold, the other two following behind us.
"Shut your mouth, grizzly."
He chuckled and picked me up, throwing me over his shoulder.
"Ye this aggressive with 'er?"
I clicked my tongue in annoyance.
"No, unlike someone, I know how to treat a woman."
"Daryl, let her down." Maggie scolded.
"Oooh, I'd listen if I were you, grizzly. She can get mean when she's mad."
Maggie seemed to hear what I said and crossed her arms, then smirked.
"Actually, Daryl you can swing her around a little longer."
He chuckled and pretend he was going to drop me, making me scream.
"Assholes! Both of you!" I cried.
I reached out to Glenn.
"Glenn..." I pouted.
He shook his hands.
"Oh no, I'm not getting in trouble. You're on your own."
"Traitor!"
Maggie smirked and tapped my face as she walked past.
"Have fun, darlin'."
"Noo..don't leave me with him.."
"Wha's wrong with me?" Daryl joked.
"Everything."
He pretend to drop me again and I clung on for dear life.
"I'm sorry, please don't drop me!"

After a short drive, which felt like forever to me, due to Maggie's nonstop teasing, we reached the mall again. We parked the trucks out front by the barricades, then hopped over them, making our way to the fire exit.

I tilted my head as I stared at the door.
"So where's the alarm...?"
Glenn stood beside me and hummed in thought.
"There should be a wire somewhere..."
"We really gotta find this wire?" Daryl asked.
"Well yeah. If we don't cut it, as soon as the door opens the alarm will go off."
Daryl grunted in acceptance.
"This it?" Maggie asked, pointing to a small wire encased in some piping.
"Yes!" Glenn confirmed.

Daryl ripped the piping off the wire so Glenn could get to the wire and cut it. He was very insistent that you needed to cut them in a specific order, as to not trigger the alarm. After he did so, he nodded to me.
"Your turn lock-master."
I grinned and took a coil of wire out my bag.
"Get ready to be amazed."
"Just open it, bun."
"Can't you let me have my moment?"
"Naw."
"You're crushing my hopes and dreams."
"Just open the door, y/n." Maggie sighed.

Without further hesitation I began to thread the coil through the side of the door. I carefully wiggled it up and down, trying to find the locking mechanism, and once it had jammed, I knew I had found it. I took the wire out and bent a hook into the end of it, then stuck it back into the door, jamming it between the locking mechanism and the wall. I pushed it inwards, pressing down on the lock, then pulled, slowly pulling the door open.

I took away the wire and opened the door fully with my hands.
"Open sesame!" I grinned.
"I thought it was 'open says me?'." Glenn asked.
I turned my head to him and stared at him blankly.
"Please, don't ruin my moment."
He chuckled and raised his hands.
"Sorry. You were cool."
I nodded in approval and swung my arm around him.
"Much better. Thank you, squishy."
"Squishy?" Everyone asked at the same time.
"His cheeks." I explained.
I walked into the mall as a harmony of 'oh's' were heard behind me.
