Tommy always had to live up for expectations, and after Eret and Wilbur's betrayals he started to gain trust issues. The only one he trusted was ironicly the one who manipulated him. He didn't knew why Dream gained his trust, but it had to do something with the fatherly act towards the teen. Phil was truly a great father, really. But he was so dissapointed in the young blonde when his eldest son got betrayed by him. And Tommy knew his father had ewery right to be mad at him.
So when he felt like Tubbo would betray him, he ran to the only person he could think of. A person who got betrayed by his closest friends, a person who knows ewerything about betrayal.
He asked Dream.
