When she regained consciousness, she was lying on something soft.

A blanket had been spread over her, and somewhere nearby she heard a fire crackling.

It was warm. Pleasantly warm.

How long had she been unconscious?

Long enough, anyway, for her clothes to dry.

Where was she?

She didn't dare move.

A person was in the room, she could sense it.

It was a signature older than she was.

Did he care about her?

Her ribs hurt.

They hurt so terribly.

She had almost forgotten how unpleasant fresh injuries were.

She had long since gotten used to the bones that were still broken, to the cuts that had not yet healed.

But these hurt like hell.

These were new.

They had to have broken when she had hit the water.

Her sister!

Where was she?

Was she all right?

She felt through the weird extra sense.

She was fine. She was safe.

But she was so far away.

The bond was strong. And Ahsoka could feel how she was.

But she couldn't tell where she was.

Maybe it was better if she didn't know.

Her sister had had to take care of her all this time. Because she had no wings. Because she couldn't do anything.

Where was she here anyway?

She concentrated again on her surroundings.

There was this one person.

Nothing else.

No other living being that she could sense.

Only this one man.

Who was he?

Did he mean her any harm?

No. He still cared about her.

His signature was filled with it.

He was compassionate...

Experienced... but she didn't know in what.

Gentle? Or reckless, she wasn't quite sure. Her senses were not enough to pick it up.

He was sitting nearby, she was sure of it.

A few meters away from her.

He was watching over her.

Waiting for her to wake up.

She didn't know if she should show him that she was awake.

She was afraid.

Who was he?

Where had he taken her?

Was she safe here?

She did not know.

He seemed calm and restless at the same time.

He didn't know what to do, she was sure of it.

He was nervous but forced himself to be calm, at least that was the conclusion Ahsoka came to.

He was okay?

Probably he was.

He didn't seem to mean her any harm.

Carefully she opened her eyes.

Very slowly.

The gray that her eyes were capable of seeing greeted her, and immediately the silhouette of the man slid into her field of vision.

He came closer.

Knelt down in front of her.

She slowly pushed herself up, but her rib protested.

Gently, the man put a hand on her shoulder and pushed her back.

Ahsoka moaned softly.

"Slow down. You're hurt. You need to lie still." he said.

"You have to be very careful. Don't get hurt any more."

That voice...
