"Oh, sorry, I didn't see you there. Are you alright?" Jeno offered his hand, which Haechan gladly took.
"I'm alright, it was a small tumble"
Hyuck smiled awkwardly. Jeno was staring very noticeably at his lips.
"Uhm, hello?" Hyuck waved a hand in front of Jeno's face.
Jeno flinched, stepping back a bit.
"Sorry, I didn't realize"
"It's fine"
An awkward silence filled the space between them.
"I'm gonna go to class then"
Jeno nodded, staring at Hyuck as he walked away.
"Aish, that guy was weird" Haechan mumbled.
The first half of the day was filled with boring talk about algebra or something. Then came lunch.
Hyuck sat down at his usual table with his friends. Quietly picking at his food.
"Hey, isn't that Jeno?" Johnny motioned towards someone at the back of the cafeteria.
Haechan looked up, bringing his attention to the boy sitting alone at a lunch table. It was the same one who helped him earlier.
"Where's his friends?" Jaehyun asked.
"No clue" Johnny replied.
"We should invite him over" Taeyong said.
"Yeah he looks a little lonely" Haechan mentioned.
"Okay, go invite him over" Jaehyun pushed Hyuck towards Jeno.
"Why me?"
"Because, no one else wants to do it"
"Ugh, fine" Haechan walked over to Jeno, sitting down next to him.
"Oh, hey, it's you"
"Yeah, it's me" Hyuck laughed awkwardly.
"So, uh, what are you doing over here?"
"My friends are annoying and wanted me to invite you to come sit with us"
"Oh"
"So, you wanna come sit with us?"
"Sure"
Haechan led Jeno to his table, offering the seat next to him.
"So. Jeno, why were you sitting alone?" Jaehyun asked.
"My friends wanted to skip school. I didn't. So they ditched me"
"That's wack" Taeyong took a sip of apple juice.
Jeno laughed a bit, secretly slipping Hyuck a note.
Haechan raised an eyebrow, quietly reading the note.
