"He's fallen in love with her."

"Are you for real?" You slowly lifted your head from Draco's chest, looking softly up at his solemn face as he gazed up at the ceiling. As his hand gently ran through your hair, you melted back into it as you lowered yourself onto his chest, realising that he was not joking. "That's amazing, though."

"I thought so too. He clearly didn't."

"What did he say to her?"

"That love is a weakness in this world."

You paused, melting straight into Draco's chest and embracing the feeling of his fingers within your hair. He had slowed down his playing of your hair, until he finally stopped and simply rested his hand on the side of your head, as though he were now deep in thought. You slowly turned upwards, looking up at him, with your hand on his chest, noticing the slow blinking of his eyes as he gazed longingly at the ceiling.

"Do you think that's true?" He asked.

"That love is a weakness in this world?"

"Yes."

"No." You said, relaxing again and looking at your hand and the gentle manner in which it rested upon his chest, occasionally rising with every breath of his. "My mother saved me with her love. She reversed such a strong curse ... from such a powerful wizard ... with love. How could I possibly say that love is a weakness? How could I let her death become worthless? No ... love is powerful. Love conquers all, as they say."

At this, Draco gently smiled, exhaling. He could not disprove your words; they were true, and he felt them be true. Thus, he lowered his look, looking down at you upon his chest, as he continued to run his fingers through your hair gently before lowering his lips to the tip of your head, planting a kiss on it.

"But what do I do?"

"There's nothing you can do, Draco. It's not your relationship. The most you can do is give him advice, make him realise that being love is not a weakness. I mean, look at all the examples! My mother and my father ... me and you."

"Are you sure that we're not weak because of love?"

"Not at all." You said sternly. "Do you think I'd be fighting so hard ... if you weren't here? I'd been fuelled by my anger, my sadness, and my love. Those things led me on. And today, we are a step closer."

"It was a stupid question." He laughed. "I should look at myself. I wouldn't have been fighting either if it weren't for you. I think that, thanks to you, I saw potential in myself and that I don't have to follow my father and his ways if I do not wish to."

"Your ideals align with Voldemort's to a certain extent though?"

"They did." He said, causing you to exhale of relief. "But you've shown me a bigger world ... a brighter one ... where I scarcely know of hatred. I once found it disgusting to admit that I loved the muggle world ... but today I say it normally. Muggles ... muggleborns ... all of them ... yes, they're no different to me. To us."

You could not help but smile at Draco. Slowly, you raised yourself on the bed so that you could be closer to his face. Lifting your hand, you pressed it to his face as you caressed his cheek with your thumb, causing him to look at you with a soft smile and those eccentric eyes of his.

"If we were in a book," you said softly, "you'd be the character with the most character development. Crafted so ... artfully. So carefully. So beautifully."

"If we were in a book, huh?" He laughed.

"The boy once filled with hatred and fear ... taught to love and hope. The boy who, overtime, learned to love not only the world, but also himself."
