skin color.

today my history teacher told us something about our history that both shocked and disgusted me at the american people. and i just can't believe it. i mean, i know it happened because there is evidence. but i didn't know we were the only ones.

she told us that there has been slavery in the world since the beginning of humans on this planet. but we, as americans (well our founding ancestors; not really mine cause i was born of mexican parents. but i'm still american cause i was born here), are the only nation who enslaved a population based on the color of their skin.

i mean SLAVERY IS WRONG ALTOGETHER.

BUT WHAT DISGUSTING HUMAN BEING THOUGHT IT WAS OKAY TO ENSLAVE SOMEONE JUST BECAUSE THEY DON'T LOOK LIKE YOU ON THE OUTSIDE?

it just really disgusts me.

i know i have said this word like three times now, but i can't find a better word to describe it. disgusting. cruel. heartless.

i'm taking a class on America in the 19th Century and it makes me so angry how the blacks were treated. literally, why the south seceded in 1860 was because they wanted a nation in which a black was NOT EQUAL to a white person.

seriously.

what kind of monsters create such a vile kind of document?

just thought i should rant on that because racism still exists today. especially in america. and we call ourselves the land of the free.

so yeah, just a bit of insight.

racism must end and we must all work together to achieve this.
