i'm watching a show about life stories, its called 'como dice el dicho'.
and basically today's episode is about a girl who her parents treat her like shit because she's a girl.
her parents give her brother everything.
they own a restaurant and the girl works all fucking day while her brother is out doing extreme sports like bmx and rock climbing. and she works hard to save up money to buy things she needs.
so her brother needed money to go rock climbing and they took her money.
and when she complained, her brother said, "you shut up and clean up the restaurant like you were meant to do."
ugh.
i am so angry watching this.
and she had enough with their shit and decided she was gonna stop being the good girl she was. she ditched school and went skateboarding with her friends. when her brother and dad found her they literally picked her up and dragged her away cause 'a woman isn't supposed to be doing those things'.
the girl just wants equality.
i don't have brothers, but i know this is true, especially in hispanic families. i know that if my dad had a son, i would no longer be my dad's favorite.
and it makes me angry.
who made this fucking rule that boys get all the good shit?
