here i will try to redeem myself after the fail of the fifty states challenge. i apparently dont know my country as well as i thought, but i DO know latin america. i know all the spanish speaking countries and their capitals. so here i go...
1. mexico, capital mexico city. their university UNAM is the oldest in latin america. estadio azteca, home to the mexican national team is the 6th largest stadium in the world. flag colors are green, white, and red with an eagle devouring a snake in the middle. modern mexico can be traced back to 1514 when hernan cortes arrived and tookt he land from the natives. current president is epn, elected in 2012. wife is angelica rivera. his national political party is pri. the national team of mexico is known as 'el tri'. mexico is actually hated by a lot of latin america. 'mexicanos al grito de guerra' is the national anthem which translates to 'mexicans at the cry of war'. chicharito, gio dos santos, memo ochoa, etc.
2. guatemala, capital guatemala city. colors of flag are blue and white. guatemala is south of mexico. i don't know a lot about them.
3. honduras, tegucigalpa. colors are blue and white. their flag has 5 stars in the middle. their national team's nickname is 'los catrachos'.
4. el salvador, san salvador. colors are blue and white. many salvadorians really dislike mexicans.
5. nicaragua, managua. all i know about this place is the capital.
6. panama, panama city. flag has red, white and blue. divided into four rectangles. one is red and the rectangle next to it has a blue star. the same is true but in opposite color arrangement for the bottom half of the flag.
7. costa rica, san jose. their national team is known as 'los ticos'. a very beautiful country.
8. cuba, havana. they are communist. cubans really dont like americans.
9. puerto rico, san juan. the island of enchantment. reggaeton was very very popular here. they are known as 'los boricuas' because there used to be a tribe there that was called that.
10. dominican republic, santo domingo. next to haiti. thats all i know.
11. colombia, bogota. colors on flag are yellow, blue, and red. there was once a very famous drug dealer from colombia who used to go by 'el mexicano' because he loved both his country (colombia) and mexico (idk why). james rodriguez, just gonna throw him in here. their nt is known as 'los cafeteros' because colombia is a big supplier of coffee to the world.
12. venezuela, caracas. after chavez died, maduro took over and everything has been a mess since then. they also dont like americans.
13. ecuador, quito. i dont know alot besides the capital.
14. peru, lima. san martin de porres was from there. i know there are also people of japanese ancestry in peru. peru was once part of the inca empire.
15. bolivia, sucre. i dont know a lot about bolivia.
16. paraguay, asuncion. i know they also have another capital called 'la paz'. they go by 'los guaranies'. jose saturnino cardoso, coach of club toluca in mexico, is from paraguay. i think pablo aguilar from club america is also from paraguay.
17. uruguay, montevideo. their flag has the colors sky blye and white with a sun in the middle. their nt goes by 'el azul celeste' the sky blue in english. suarez and forlan. haha. i think their nt is also known as 'los charruas'. like the native tribe.
18. chile, santiago. i cant remember for the life of me what their flag looks like but i thinkit has blue red and white. there is also a star somewhere there. the andes mountains are there. the chilenos own easter island. their nt is known as 'la roja'. alexis sanchez. arturo vidal.
19. argentina, buenos aires. the pope is from here. the current queen of the netherlands is from here. a lot of these people have italian ancestry. their flag also has sky blue and white and also has a sun somewhere on it. their nt is known as 'el albiceleste' which means 'the blue and white'. messi, higuain, kun, etc.
i am 100% certain these are the correct capitals. because i am a spanish major and i had to learn these since ninth year in high school. so i have refreshed my knowledge on these countless times. i dont even have to check my answers, i stg. if one of these is wrong i will honestly stab myself.
