I used to live in a generation where people strived for greatness
Where we all wanted to be something
To change the world
Astronauts, Presidents, Engineers, Lawyers...you name it.
(I wanna be a composer now. The dream is still alive guys).
But now?
What world am I living in?
That everyone just fucking wants to work in

Like tumblr is just fucking full of coloured Starbucks coffee cups
And then now everyone on wattpad works in Starbucks.
Like is it seriously that cool?
I mean whoop whoop, serving coffee and taking orders and shit! Reaching for the stars!
You mean Starbucks.
But seriously I'm tired of these books where the girl is working there okay, I don't understand why it's cool to work in a coffee shop.
Consuming that caramel hot chocolate is fucking amazing

But not fucking making it.
Like seriously how can you even live, knowing that you've whipped up the perfect cup of that beautiful shit but it's always for someone else?
Working in starbucks is so overrated.
Like how many of those employees even look happy? Counting change means maths and I'm not ready for that kind of commitment
Neither are you, nor your darn characters.
Then in books you see this -
"The upside to my job at Starbucks was that we got free coffee after work."
Such bullshit. You've got to pay for that shit.
I feel like the standards of the generation today have really been depleted, and we've got all the wrong priorities.
FOCUS ON GETTING GOOD GRADES GUYS
HARVARD WILL COME TO YOU
AIM TO HAVE A GOOD LIFE
or you have low standards for yourself, then you'll work in Starbucks because duh, it's the best job everrrr.

Look, I'm not saying that working in Starbucks is bad or whatever. But we can't keep writing in our stories that they work in Starbucks because that makes it seem like it's the job of a lifetime
And we all know that it's not.
