Now now.

(I don't know why I just said that, it felt right).

So because my Dad left my brother and I in the village for a couple of days (we bonded with the cows and shizz...jks, I watched TV and I've been reading the Divergent Series yay me I'm loving them so much btw), I decided to look through my Wattpad library and flip through some of the books I'd saved.

Needless to say, I found a rant topic. Forgive me.

There are too many people out there who try wayyyyy too hard to be funny in their books.

Maybe I do too, who knows. (#HypocrisyAtItsFinest?)

I know I've kind of ranted about this before (when I was talking about writers using internet jokes), but it was very brief. But this is somewhat different.

To be honest, I think being funny is something that comes naturally to someone or it doesn't.

Like that's it. You can't learn to be funny (I thought of cracking a chemistry joke there but all the good ones argon)(that was unoriginal, sue me)

Being funny is just something that you are.

Like how you are just Divergent. #ITookTheQuizAndCameOutDivergentBecauseEruditeAndCandorAreWhatIAm

I'm just saying that it's almost sad to see how much people force issues for themselves and tbh guys don't get me wrong here, yea.

Personally, I never really thought I was funny (and I still don't see it sometimes) until some of you guys told me. You see, I wasn't trying to be funny. I just type a lot of incoherent things and shit. Like I don't think "WHAT WILL MAKE GUYS LAUGH?", I just write my own shit and then you guys end up laughing.

But there are just some people just force it like damn

These kinds of people will try too, too hard to be funny. For instance, they'll find the most useless things to rant about and it's just so sad like dude you must be seriously bored to find fault in curtains

I mean bitches be like:

Guys, I'm going to rant about curtains today. They are so bloody annoying like WHY THE FUCK IS THEIR PURPOSE? THEY ARE JUST THERE TO HIDE YOU FROM THE TRUTH, HIDE YOU FROM WHAT IS OUTSIDE

AND WHAT IS UP WITH THOSE UGLY PATTERNS? UGH

IT'S LIKE THEY DEMOLISH EVERYTHING I BELIEVE IN: FREEDOM AND OPENNESS. LIKE MY FRIEND ASKED ME WHY I DON'T FUCKING CLOSE THE CURTAIN IN MY ROOM AND I SAID IT'S BECAUSE I HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE, I AM TIRED OF BEING OPPRESSED LIKE CURTAINS ARE JUST SO RACIST AND SEXIST

LIKE DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON SOFAS.

I think writing a rant book is a trap yo

It's like you just end up finding fault in everything around you, criticizing the smallest of things

I think that there are some real good rant books out there that the authors are naturally funny and you can find credibility in what they're saying

But others? #GAAAHH JUST STOP PLS

And this doesn't only go for rant books, perhaps just books in general. Here's a word of advice though: Just stop forcing it, stop trying too hard. Be good at what you're good at. It's okay not to be funny, because maybe you're fucking good at being deep and making people cry - so stick to that. You don't have to look for every single thing to rant about and pretend you're annoyed just for the sake of appearing funny. You don't have to try and make people laugh. You just do you boo! #GenieInspiration

Now, can we pause for a second to look at how sexy Jai Courtney (Eric) looks in Divergent/Insurgent. I mean I know Theo James is bae (I HAD A DREAM ABOUT HIM LAST NIGHT GUYS HE WAS MY BOYFRIEND NO LIES) but I deleted my collage app because space so I couldn't put him up in there
