91| Why I hate sequels

Hey!

This rant was inspired by araequuleus17 and so the chapter will be dedicated to her! She's an awesome one.

So you know how every movie that has a sequel turns out to just be disappointing as fuck

Like omfg what the hell was wrong with Pitch Perfect 2 it was so fucking stupid there were like ten plots going on at the same time and this annoying-ass Emily chick with her stupid flashlights wtf like I know Jessie J wrote that song but srsly it makes no sense, like why the fuck are you using a flashlight to "get through the night" I mean first of all, you should be ASLEEP in the night ffs and even when you aren't there's fucking ELECTRICITY so your song is just bullshit you annoying-ass Emily chick who only knows her own songs omfg and let's be honest the German's performance was SO MUCH BETTER than the Bella's, dammit! And like why the fuck were they doing these hand clapping things in the beginning as if it would get them points? Last time I checked it was an A CAPELLA competition not A CLAPPING competition ugh just go away I couldn't deal with that movie

And the way I loved the first (sad face). Like I know the first it word for word. #FinishHimLikeACheeseCake

I'm even "Best In Kenya in Pitch Perfect" on QuizUp, lol

And now this second one just broke my soul like why u disappointing me like that why

Anyway lol

This rant is about Wattpad sequels.

So basically I used to read sequels on Wattpad because the first book was always great and I was like noooo I don't want this to enddddd then when I'd find out that there was a sequel my heart would scream yayyyyyy

But for some reason, I'd only read the first few chapters and not have the heart to carry on.

"Why?" I hear you ask.
"Because," I say, "I just hate sequels."
"That's not a good enough reason, and you know that!" I hear you say again.
"Okay. I will then proceed with a list!" I exclaim, and you look at me, your eyes pregnant with expectation.

1. For araequuleus17's very reason (she says):

There is a trend going on Wattpad where the author finishes the whole book (a good book) and we see the unlikely pair fall in love after so many trials and tribulations. Then she posts something about a sequel but instead of coming up with a good new plot to keep the readers, she comes up with a new guy for the girl where we're once again wondering who the girl will end up with. And it's TeamThis and TeamThat all over again. Which is quite annoying and a huge turn off.

I couldn't have said it better myself, tbh.

2. The characters just don't seem the same

So like in the first book you fall in love with the protagonist because she's just so cool and funny and what other bullshit, but in the second book, she just seems...different.

It's the same writer and yes it's the same character but it's weird! Like she's acting grown up and she speaks differently and just UGHHHH I CANNOT DEAL GIVE ME MY BABY BACKKKK

It's like that moment when you're talking to someone who used to be your best friend but they're not anymore so it's just awkward as fuck okay lol jokes it's not really like that, I just failed in my use of analogy)

Omg btw I just watched Home and it's soooo nice ahhhhh

3. Feeling like you're betraying the old characters (because we best be hating on these new random ones coming into her life like back off bro we want Jack back)

So like araequuleus17 said, new characters are tossed into the picture, and as a result some old ones are thrown out.

The worst thing about that is that you felt a sort of loyalty to those old characters so like it's so difficult

I mean I just can't let go of Jack (#TitanicReference) and automatically like this new William guy like wtf no no that's not right, William can't have her friendship because Jack was fighting from Book 1 bruh, Will better WORK to earn my loyalty

And like the new characters are kind of cool so you feel like you're betraying the old ones Idek

Am I even making sense
Sometimes I reread my rants and question whether I communicate effectively guys do I communicate effectively

You know tbh I don't know why people were hating on the #DontJudge Challenge like it's never that serious

Like dude I've acne and braces but I don't take it personally 😂😂 some of those guys are just too damn sexy, LIKE BRUH *licks lips in thirst*
