Ryleigh's POV:

"Mariah!!!"

"Ma..." I give up trying to repeat as another set of rounds go off.

"Lock the door!!!!" Sue shouts and I've never seen her this serious before.

Her hands are in the glove compartment and I already know what she's looking for.

I hop out of the car and slam the door shut..

Just like she said.

My mom screams and tries to open the door again, but Sue locks it refusing to let anybody else disobey her orders.

I spin away and run low towards Mariah who is now on the ground whaling at her dad's side.

"Daaaawwwddddyyy!" she cries.

Stooping down to help her, I watch as the life drains from Paul's face.

"Mariah come bacccckk to the car!" I whisper shout.

"Me nah lef him yuh mad! a him alone me have!" she screams, wiping her tears with the back of her hand that's now slathered in blood.

*Sigh*

I look around to see that most of the men from Chief's team are down. My eyes move across the pasture to find Slyme.

He's clipping everybody from behind a tree, one by one.

Immaculate aim.

"F*ck unuh a do" I hear Paw's voice hovering above us.

*Thank God cause I don't know*

We don't answer.

Mariah is crying and putting pressure on the chest wound that Skulli is sporting.

"Why unuh leave the car?" Paw asks, keeping his focus on our surroundings.

Neither of us offer him an answer.

Skulli coughs and Mariah starts whaling even louder.

"Him ago good Mariah forward me affi get unuh to safety, Surgeon deh pon him way to the safe house" Paw explains.

So we're not going back to the boutique hotel?

A bullet flies pass us a little too near and connects to Peppa's knees. Another hits his shoulders before he falls.

I watch him fall flat to the ground hitting his head.

*Mi p*ssyclawt!*

"Carry them back to the bl**dclawt car Paw!" I hear Slyme's voice and realize that those bullets belonged to him.

Him communicating that to Paw, gives away his position and another set of rounds head towards him.

Paw hisses grabbing Mariah and moving down to get her back to the car.

I stay low, trying to be as observant as possible.

Looking to my right I see when a group of men usher Chief into a van and it speeds off.

Smh so alla this a did fi wah? Fi him prove some kinda point?

We get to the car in time to see Sue exiting with what I think has to be an Uzi.
