CASSIOPEIA BLACK HELD THE TWO - way mirror in one of her hands and she opened her window with the other one.

The cool night breeze hit her face as she leant out of the window, her face illuminated by the streetlamps just opposite her window. The stars above twinkling like glitter in the black sky.

She looked down, looking at the hard ground below.

It was a long drop, around 40 feet, if she fell, it would probably be fatal, and she didn't plan on dying anytime soon.

She turned, her back resting against the window sill as she looked up.

There was a lattice against the wall of the house, the stems of dead flowers entangled in it, their heads had fallen off years ago.

Cassie smiled slightly and shook her head as she thought that her parents couldn't even take care of flowers, what made they think they could take care of three children.

Her smile dropped as she looked back at the lattice on the wall, taking a deep breath, she placed the mirror between her teeth and climbed out of her window, her back pressed against the wall as she tried her best not to look down.

She let out a shaky breath as she quickly flipped her body around, one hand now grabbing onto the wooden lattice.

She wanted to celebrate as she moved the rest of her body onto the lattice, her feet bare so her toes could grip the wood better, she could already feel a slight splinter in one of her fingers, but she didn't care at that moment.

She began to climb, her mind focusing on thoughts of James and Sirius as she did so, to keep the thoughts of her falling from her mind. She smiled slightly at the thought of James calling her everynight, but she couldn't answer until today - now that her face had healed.

She knew she couldn't talk to him while her face was bashed and bruised. It would raise too many questions, questions she wasn't ready to answer yet and she didn't know when she would be ready to answer them.

She let out the large breath she was holding as she finally reached the top of Grimmauld Place. She lay on the roof for a few minutes, both too scared and tired to move.

It took her a few minutes, but she had soon gathered her thoughts and grabbed the mirror that she had placed besides her.

She held it rather close to her face as she whispered:

"James."

There was a crash from the other side of the mirror, and movement as a lump of cloth fell off the bed. Cassie winced as James cussed under his breath.

"The fuck are you doing Prongs?" Came Sirius' hoarse voice, Cassie let out a giggle as James middle finger appeared on the otherside of the bed.

"I thought I heard Cassie's voice."

"You did dipshit." Cassie whispered again, letting out a laugh as James head appeared over the top of the mattress, his hair stuck up in all directions around his head, messier than usual. His eyes were slightly closed, and he yawned as he looked over at the mirror.

"Cassie." A grin made it's way on his face as he quickly climbed back onto his bed.

She grinned back as she saw him, feeling happy for the first time since she had come back to Grimmauld Place.

"Hey love." James said, picking up the mirror and holding it face with him.

"Hey." She said softly.

"Fuck." James said, looking at her, causing the dark-haired girl to furrow her eyebrows.

"What?"

"I don't remember you being that pretty."

His eyes scanned over her face, his eyebrows furrowing for a split second as he looked at her hair, still in curls framing her face.

"That hair-style suits you perfectly."

Cassie grinned as she looked at James, feeling the heat already rising to her cheeks.

Her eyes scanned over his face, taking in all of his features, the way his eyes crinkled when he smiled, to the slight stubble on his jaw, to the way he kept running a hand through his hair as he stood up.

She quickly raised her eyebrows, looking down at his bare shoulders.

She clicked her fingers and smirked.

"Show those angles Jamsie."

It was now James turn to furrow his eyebrows, but he held the mirror higher above his head nonetheless.

"Fuck." Cassie said, eyes scanning over James body, before he pulled the mirror back up to show his face again.

"What?" He furrowed his eyebrows again.

"I don't remember you being that hot."

James smiled at her, rolling his eyes at the same time.

The sound of fake barfing came from behined James.

"I think-" more fake barfing noises "-I'm going to die from the overwhelming cheesiness in this room."

Cassie let out a giggle, rolling her eyes as Sirius came into view, he quickly snatched the mirror from his hands and held it too close to his body.

"What are you doing?" Cassie asked, tilting her head to the side.

"Giving you a hug you bimbo."

Cassie shook her head, but also held the mirror close to her body.

They held the mirrors close to themselves for a few moments, James letting the siblings have their time together, before Sirius placed the mirror on one of the beds. Propped up on some pillows.

Sirius lay down on his stomach infront of the mirror, his head in his hands and his feet in the air behind him.

James did the same, laying down on the bed the same was as Sirius.

Cassie grinned at the two boys.

"Anyways, how is it with Walburga and Orion?" Sirius asked, James saw the smile on Cassies lips falter slightly, but she shrugged it off.

"It's okay, I can't wait to be back at Hogwarts though, can't wait to be back with you two." James smiled sadly, and Sirius shrugged.

"I can't blame you, we are amazing."

Cassie rolled her eyes.

"Mother and father invited the Rosiers for tea tonight, it was odd."

James couldn't help but frown as she said 'mother' and 'father'. He hated it, the way that it sounded so formal, as if they were her boss or as if they controlled her, rather than her being their daughter. Their own child.

He hated how she seemed to detest the word, but the way it rolled off her tongue as if she had never said anything else to her parents.

James knew that when he had kids of his own, he wouldn't want them to feel controlled by him, he didn't want them to feel uncomfortable around him - he could tell by the way Cassie frowned saying the word that she didn't feel comfortable around her parents.

"Why was it odd?" Sirius asked, tilting his head to the side in confusion as he looked at the girl through the mirror.

"They weren't rude." She said simply, shrugging slightly, "and I told them I wanted to be a teacher and they did nothing about it."

"That is odd."

James looked between the two of them, he remembered Cassie telling him that she wanted to be a teacher months ago, but she never told him that her parents wouldn't be happy with the decision.

He never loved his parents more. He was never as greatful for his parents as he was then. He knew that he always took his parents for granted, knowing just the surface of what Sirius and Cassie parents did to them,  and he knew from that day forth he was going to show just how much he did care for them.

Cassie shrugged.

"James!" Sirius practically yelled, looking over at the other boy in alarm.

"Sirius, shut the fuck up, you'll wake up mum and dad." Sirius shushed James, placing a hand over the other boys mouth.

"Shush, you'll wake up your parents."

James looks at Sirius, before pushing him off the bed.

"How rude." Sirius mumbles, before standing up and walking out of the room.

"Where'd he go?" Cassie asked, curiously. James shrugged.

"To masterbate probably." James said simply, before he turned to look at Cassie his eyes wide.

Cassie stared at him, looking as if she wanted to be sick.

"I'm so sorry." James couldn't help but laugh slightly at the girls reaction, but he still felt rather embarrassed for saying that to her because Sirius was her brother.

Cassie stay sat on the roof of her house, pulling her legs closer to her body as she shook slightly due to the cold.

"You cold love?" James asks, looking at the girl in complete awe, even though she looked exhausted now, she still looked stunning. And he was still so lucky to have her, and he knew he'd try to never let her go.

Cassie nodded, her teeth chattering.

"Why don't you go back inside?" He asked, his voice soft.

Cassie frowned.

"But I want to talk to you more." James smiled softly.

"Your health is more important, anyways, it's 2am, I'm sure if you're very quiet you can still talk to us."

Cassie nodded again, pulling her thin cardigan around her shoulders more.

The mirror went blank for a few seconds, before showing her reflection again.

She slowly made her way back down the wooden lattice and to her bedroom window, letting out a sigh of relief when she reached the floor and finally got back into her bed, wrapping her duvet around her tightly.

"James." She whispered again, the mirror went from showing her reflection to showing James and Sirius.

"What the fuck are you two doing?" Cassie asked, trying her hardest not to laugh as she saw the two of them wearing facemasks, Sirius having cucumber slices over his eyes and James holding them in his hands as he ate the ones that were meant to be on his eyes.

"Caring for ourselves." Sirius responded, holding his hand up to James.

"Do you think I need to do my nails?" James took Sirius' hand and inspected it:

"Oh yes, they look like you pick at your arse with them." Cassie let out a small giggle as Sirius let out a humph, pulling his hand away.

"You two are amazing." She said with the slightest shake of her head, the smile wide on her face.

The three of them must have talked for hours, the sun was begging to rise when Sirius fell asleep, his head on James shoulder and drool running down his chin.

James and Cassie talked for a little while more, until James finished his sentence and waited for a reply, that never came as he saw that Cassie had now fallen asleep.

He watched her for a few seconds, she looked so peaceful while she slept, and it made his heart skip a few beats. His normal smirk turning to a soft smile.

"Sleep well, love." James muttered, careful not to wake or disturb her from her slumber.

James knew that he couldn't live without her, he adored everything about her. He loved everything about her.

He loved her.
