Kelly, Michelle and I sat down in our recording studio reminiscing about how much of a great year 2001 was. It all came and gone in a flash. Kevin and Melissa two of the producers who worked with us on our last album that went down in history as one of the best one this year.
"So Beyonce, you wanna tell us about your Jay?"
"Tell you about what?"
"Bey we your girls, I know you wanna keep your love a secret but we need in on the goods."
"Okay, So since 1999, I have had a over the phone relationship with rapper JayZ!" I said placing my head between my hands.
"What the fuck? Beyonce are we talking about "Big Pimpin" JayZ. The man with the video chicks and side chicks?"
"Yes, trust me he is nothing like what you all think."
"Bey he is like 30 something years old. And persons are saying he got a kid and how much hoes he has sleep with and everything."
"I promise you guys I played it safe. We never kissed, no sex, no oral sex, no nothing just conversation over the phone and a few hugs at award shows. I also asked h about the kid but he said she became 3 months after the left for over 6 months."
"Tell us about him."
"Well.. He is 32! I know 12 years older than I but he is so sweet. He grew in Marcy's Project in Brooklyn. He has a mother who raised him by herself when his dad left at age 9."
"Wow his father left him alone?"
"Yea and that was kind of his sad point he said him and his dad was super close since he was the baby out of 4 and when he was 14 he got hooked up with a few friends who knew how to make fast money."
"So is that how he got into drugs?"
"Yea he said he wanted things his mama couldnt afford and his sisters and brothers needed things to so he went out their and did drugs. He told me his mama didnt agree but since she couldnt stop him she told him just to never smoke it. He sold drugs and got whatever he wanted and family needed. He then got hooked up with a girl who he liked since she was 16 and they started dating. After a while his insecurites about his looks started to kicked in."
"Wow. He is not a all time fine but he is not all bad."
"I know, but I cant come to understand why I find him so attractive like his looks are so unique to me. Everything everyone else hates and diss him about like that rapper Nas about his lips and shit I just find so adorable." I said with my cheeks turning red.
"Bey, so what you thinking?"
"Kelly I have to be honest I really love him I can see myself with him but I need him to play it safe I told him as for now we are friends and as for us ever going on dates I need to be impressed."
"Why don't you guys take time out for eachother since you gonna be over here a while?"
"I kind of told him about the whole Austin Powers movie. So he knows about me being in NYC but.."
"But what Bey?"
"My mama almost freaked out about some lies she heard. If I tell them or they find out about Jay its gonna be trouble."
"So what you gonna do?"
"If its true love then I will fight."
It was long pause as tears came rushing down my face. I was incredibly in love with this guy who was just a close 'friend' he never touched anything but my heart and I know he had to be the one.
"Bey I say do it. If that man makes you happy then fight for him."
We sat down in the studio recording a new soundtrack for an up and coming movie. As we flowed in harmony blending our vocals my cellphone rang causing us to stop.
"OMG Bey is that him?" Kelly said spanning out.
"Yea Kellys I'm gonna get this!" I said giggling as I walked out the studio door.
As the door shut I answered.
"Hello?"
"Hey baby girl how you doing?" Jay said as a raspy beat sounded through his studio through the phone.
"Nothing how are you?"
"The same whats up with you, I heard how well the album did. Congrats"
"Why you sound all jumpy and happy, I mean I know you hearing my voice is all good but its a bounce in yo step ma'. What happened?"
"I finally told my friends about us." I said with a huge smile on face.
"You did what? How did they respond?"
"Concerned and unexcepting..... at first but then they fell for it."
"So their disapproval meant what? We wouldn't be together?"
"I just wanted to hear their say nobody stops a show."
"So its kind of cool?"
"If I am happy and you can make me happy then thats fine."
"Sooo... The New Years is almost here....You wanna do something?"
"Something like?"
"A party at my 40/40 club. It gonna be its first so I wanted to do something a bit formal and fancy."
"Are you asking me out?"
"Yea."
"So go ahead."
"Hahaaha. Beyonce would you like to spend New Years Day with me?"
I took about a minute before I responded I wanted him to get nervous for a bit
"I would like that!"
"Weeee! What a relief so tonight at 10. My friend Ty and Memphis will be there so we can just pick you and your girls up."
"Okay Jay, goodbye I'll see you late.
I hanged up from Jay and ran to tell my girls the exciting news. I know they were in for a party and knowing that Jay had alot of friends they might probably find someone.
It was another New Year and I found myself with Jay and his crew again. This time it was us as friends. I knew Jay would make his move and I was ready. I was willing to give my love into him piece by piece.
Kelly and Michelle was determined to party the night away and find Mr. Right while I just wanted to dance and have fun with Jay.
I picked out a dress that was just below the knee. It was gold with a good amount of back showing and curve hugging. I want to look sexy no slutest. I went for a dark brown hair with honey glow curls that hung over my left shoulder.
As I placed on my heels I sprayed a small amount of perfume behind my ears and in my wraist. I threw a mirror, lip gloss and 300$ in my purse. As I was about to ring Kelly and Michelle to meet me in the lobby my cellphone rang.
"Yo Ma you ready this time?"
"Hahaha funny, and yes I am!"
"Well we outside."
"Okay give us 5!"
I hung the phone up and dialed my girls telling them to meet in my lobby. When I got to the elevator they were already inside.
"Beyonce your ass looks ASSmazing hunni!" Kelly said snapping her finger into a zig-zag.
"Thank You." I said blushing knowing that it would blow Jay away.
"If a kiss dont welcome you in and fucking to exit you this new year then I am not a female."
"Kelly! We havent even made us official yet!"
We walked outside the hotel one by one with me behind. I stopped by the front desk asking them to send extra towels to my room. As I started to walk outside I notice that Kelly and Michelle were already in the limo. I waved goodbye to the door man who held my hands down the door frame.
As I lift up my head I was greeted by huge cheeks that point to the air as Jay took my hands helping my inside his limo.
The limo was quite enjoyable as Kelly, Ty and Michelle started to relax with each other. Jay and I sat by the window near the drivers seat as we fumbled with eachother hands.
"You look amazing tonight!" Jay said licking his lips and staring at me.
"You dont look bad yourself, you look pretty nice in a suit."
"Thank You I had to because I knew you would go all out!"
"Really uh, so you tried to compliment my outfit with your suit? Pretty nice and love it by the way!"
"Your welcome. After tonight I have an idea so maybe you'll take me up on my offer!"
"If its good and decent sure. Just remember impress me." I said as he kissed my cheeks.
"Awwweee... Bey Bey is growing up!"
I blushed as I tucked my head towards Jay. We held hands straight through the ride as he calmly answered questions from Kelly.
We finally arrived to club and he escorted me out. Helping me out the limo before the paps could take a shot and let me lead the way. Kelly, Michelle and I entered the club waving and smiling at cameras as we walked in. The place was absoultely beautiful. Everywhere was perfect just like I imagined Jay. I walked in the middle of the dancefloor hugging a few persons I knew that I met over the years.
As I was about to walk over to the bar Jay gripped my waisted.
"You don't sit here, where ever I be you be as well." He said moving me infront of him as he guide me towards the back of the club.
As we approached the area the guys that were sitting there all removed their drinks from their mouth letting out sounds such as "Oh Shit!" "God damn" "Shawty Is 100". I became a bit uncomfortable as Jay escorted me to the couch.
For a while he & I made small talk as he laughed and talked with his friends. I sat quitely by his side as I watched carefully my surrounding. He was obvioisly entertained with others so I just rocked on to the music.
"You or right?" He said over the music coming near my ears.
"Yea, am good."
"Can I ask you something?"
"Sure what is it?"
"When the clock strike 12 I want you to be near me."
"Sure no problem." I knew it was his invite to a kiss so I turned my head from him and smiled.
The clock striked 11:56 and I was moving my mouth to Jay's song 'Song Cry' thats been blasting through the club, he looked over at me and smiled but I didnt notice after a while. I smirked and look away until he gripped my hands and moved behind his friends who were headed outside to see the fireworks.
The clock started to cling as the hands begin to move towards 12am. Jay gripped my waist and moved me slow in front of him wrapping his hands around my waist as he moved his front closer to my back.
A smile came across my face as I screamed "Happy New Years" with the other persons. As fireworks sounded of in the air I turned around face to face with Jay and looked up him.
"Happy New Year Jay!" I said smiling and hugging him around his waist.
"Happy New Year To You Too Baby Girl Bey!" He said licking his lips as he brought them down to mines. Impatiently he emerged our lips blending into a soft passionate kiss that was filled with excitement. The kissed lasted for about 2 minutes as I gripped his jacket with my hands. His lips were so soft, smooth and big. It was just the right fit for mines. As we released the kiss he starred at me for about a minute until I shyly placed my head in his chest.
We can really get used to this.
