❝ your future awaits ❞

━━━━★✼☆。━━━━

THERE WERE A series of protests through the phone and Melody held it away from her ear as she sipped her coffee. It was probably bad that she was now drinking coffee on a daily basis, but it woke her up when needed. And given all of the recent events, she really needed something to help her stay awake and not collapse on the ground randomly.

"No! You get back to StoryBrooke now or I'm coming there myself," Pan told her sternly. "You could get killed."

"Honey your heart could be turning black," Mary Margaret pointed out.

"Are you serious?!" Pan exclaimed to the former bandit. "You think I'm worried about her heart turning black? I'm worried that she's going to get killed. Hell, her heart can turn completely black for all I care."

Damon walked in and saw the brunette with the phone away from her ear, but just enough so she can hear them. Melody gave him an apologetic smile and a little wave. He walked over to her, standing on the other side of the bar. "Family trouble?" he questioned.

She nodded. "Mhmm."

"Melody you get back to StoryBrooke right now!" Pan demanded.

Damon came over and snatched her phone, putting it on speaker. Melody tried to take it from him but the vampire kept pushing her away. "Melody is completely safe here."

"Who the hell is that!" Regina and Pan yelled at the same time.

Damon smirked and Melody gave him a warning look. He didn't understand just how much her dad could get pissed. And once he got pissed, the whole town would go up in flames. Everyone could feel it in the air that the end was right around the corner. Right before he blew up completely, either Felix or his daughter would calm him down. He had quite a temper.

"Damon Salvatore speaking." She shook his head at him as if to say 'it's your funeral'. "Your daughter is perfectly safe with me. I'll keep her nice and—"

"That's it! I'm on my way!"

Melody came over and spoke into the phone. "No, please dad. I'm fine. I can take care of myself!"

His tone displayed just how angry he was. "Melody you are not fine. You're living with two vampires, just helped with a murder which I quite frankly don't care about, pissed off a doppel-whatever, and helped a newbie vampire who could potentially kill you at any moment. I'd rather you not die."

The fairytale woman sighed, laying her head in her hands. "Dad, I promise I'm fine. But I know no matter what I say is going to change your mind—"

"Nope."

"—but it is dangerous here. And you have Felix and Alec. You can't just leave them." Melody was afraid that if Pan were to come to town, Katherine would go after him. Even though she knew he could take care of himself, the doppelganger had proved that she was always three steps ahead. What if her dad paid the price?

Pan scoffed as if it was an insult. "I'll bring Felix with me but I'm sure Regina has no problem taking care of Alec while we're gone." She could practically see him glaring at her adoptive mother as if daring her to argue with him. There was no objection on the other line so she must have agreed though she doubted it.

"Yeah, but what about Kathrine. She's always three steps ahead of the game, dad. She could hurt you or Felix."

It didn't seem like she was getting through to him because Melody could hear Pan already packing his bags. "All the more reason why we should come. We could help."

"What about mom, Killian—"

"Hook."

"—Emma and the others."

The two enemies had still clashed with each other through the years before Melody left. Sure, they didn't try and kill each other for her sake, but that didn't stop the threats. And she knew that the two former Neverland inhabitants would always hate each other.

"Screw them."

Melody rolled her eyes playfully. "I meant, what if they want to come and visit too?"

"They can't. They got kids to take care of."

She sighed and looked over at the spot Damon had been in but she realized that he was no longer in the room. He probably ran away. The woman rubbed her forehead, thinking about how her dad wouldn't bother to listen to her. "Alright fine. Just call me when you guys get here."

You could practically hear his victorious smirk on the other line. "Will do," he agreed. "Love you."

"I love you too. Tell Felix and Alec I said hi and that I love them too."

They hung up and she let out a frustrated groan, smacking her phone down on the counter. She couldn't even go anywhere without him going into protective dad mode. It was annoying.

"You should've fought harder," Damon suggested, now in the room again.

Melody looked at him with a tired look, pressing both of her hands against the counter. "Trust me, him and I could go on for hours. And by the time we'd finish, he'd already be here enjoying the way you scream as he rips your shadow from your body." She tried to think when they would get here, how long it would take. But without them having the kids, it wouldn't take them very long.

"You guys are just alike," Damon mused, shivering at her words, somehow he knew that the immortal leader wasn't joking.

Melody shook her head, smiling as she remembered the times that they were called siblings rather than father an daughter. "We are."

There was a knock at the door and the two looked at each other before exiting the kitchen and walking to the front door. Melody opened it and there stood Caroline, looking like she had just seen a ghost. "Caroline?" She questioned with a raised eyebrow. "What's wrong."

"Katherine," she answered.

She rolled her eyes. "This bitch can't quit."

———

Melody had seated Caroline on the couch and Damon handed her a glass of blood. She took it with a polite thank you, sipping it tensely. The older female observed Caroline's behavior with a concerned expression. The blonde had told them what happened with Katherine and it made Melody more nervous because of the fact that Pan and Felix would be in the town soon, most likely that night.

Stefan walked into the Boarding House, seeing the scene. He noticed the thick tension and he walked over. "What happened?"

Damon looked over at his brother. "Go ahead, tell him." He looked at Stefan. "You're gonna love this."

Melody nodded in agreement sipping her second cup of coffee, sighing when it reached her lips. She would need this for the masquerade that night. No doubt the doppelganger would make an appearance.

"I saw Katherine today," Caroline revealed, looking over at Stefan.

"Where?" Stefan asked, his attention fully on what she had to say.

Caroline sighed. "At the Grill. I just stopped by to gawk and...quasi-stalk Matt." She paused and took a deep breath. "He asked me if I needed a table but I freaked out because what if he thinks I'm stalking him—"

"Caroline," Melody interrupted. The blonde looked over at her. "Get to the point, please. We can talk about your boy problems at a more appropriate time."

She nodded and then continued. "Then I had to pretend to use the bathroom even though I didn't really have to go because I'm a doofus." Melody arched an eyebrow and Caroline realized she was about to go off track again. "Anyway, I went into the bathroom and saw Katherine. But at first, I thought it was Elena. She said how she saw me with Matt and asked me if I was okay. That's when I realized that it was Katherine. I tried to get away, but she grabbed me before I could. And that she said she had a message."

The atmosphere shifted to something tenser. Stefan moved closer. "What was the message?"

"She wanted you guys to know that she wants the moonstone or she will rip this town apart until it rains blood."

Melody felt a shiver run up her spine at the dark words. It had caused chills even the first time Caroline told them, but it didn't change the effect they had. Because even though it sounded like something you would hear back in StoryBrooke, that didn't change the fact that from the receiving end, it was terrifying.

"Tell him the rest of it," Damon encouraged.

Caroline nodded and then finished her story by saying, "She said tonight, at the masquerade ball."

"I think she wants to do it in public because us killing Mason threw her off guard," Melody explained to Stefan, expressing her thoughts with a shrug.

It made sense. But when she said that she had another plan, then a back-up for that one, and then a back-up for that one, Melody couldn't help but feel like Katherine was just bluffing to scare them. When Damon killed Mason, she seemed shocked. So, naturally, the doppelganger had to seem like she had another plan. Which she probably but not as many as she said she did.

"She's running scared," Damon added. "What she did to Jenna was desperate. She's out of tricks."

Stefan shook his head, beginning to pace back and forth. "We can't underestimate her. We have to play this smarter than her."

"Can we just give her the moonstone so she'll leave?" Caroline questioned

Melody scoffed and shook her head. "No way. Katherine's not winning. I haven't known her long but I already despise her for what she's doing to you and other people. So I'm going to get ready for the masquerade ball and I'm gonna kill her, tonight."

"You're not gonna kill her," Stefan argued.

The fairytale woman got up and raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms over her chest with a challenging look. Damon stood up as well, gesturing toward her. "Aw come on Stefan. Give the girl a break. I'm going to kill Katherine too."

"You're not gonna kill her."

Melody still didn't move her gaze from him, interested as to what he had as an argument. "Oh really?"

"Because I am."

Damon smirked and Melody nodded, impressed as she smiled. "Look at you, hero hair. You're moving up in the world," she teased. Stefan smiled and the female got out her phone. "I'm going to text Bonnie, let her know what's happening. You guys call Ric, also let him know what's going to go down tonight."

She left the room and the three exchanged glances.

"Well she's bossy," Damon responded.

"I heard that!" Melody yelled from the other room.

———

Melody went to the front door when she heard the knock, opening the door to see Bonnie standing there. The fairytale woman smiled at her and opened the door wider to let her in. "Thanks for coming on such short notice, Bonnie. I hate to bother you."

Bonnie entered and smiled back, appreciating the fact that she had acknowledged the fact that she was taking time out of her day for this. "I got your message and I could tell it was urgent so it's alright."

Melody saw the familiar old book in her arms and sighed in relief. "Thank goodness. You brought the grimoire, we're going to need it."

The witch walked into the main room and saw Stefan, Damon, and Alaric all talking by the table full of weapons. Her eyes went wide, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion. "What's going on?" she questioned, earning the attention of the three.

Jeremy walked in and replied, "We're gonna kill Katherine."

Melody saw Bonnie's look and sighed. "I can explain, promise."

"Please do," the Bennett responded, watching Jeremy walk over to the other three guys.

The brunette made a face and then shrugged, finding no other explanation for it. "We're gonna kill Katherine."

Bonnie gaped in shock while Melody turned and joined the others as Alaric showed them a weapon he had made to kill vampires. After getting over her shock, the Bennett witch followed. "This works with compressed air. The trigger mechanism is up here. I have two of these in a different size." He looked at the Salvatore brothers. "For you, I recommend this. It fits nicely under the jacket sleeve. You use the trigger when you're ready." He pulled the trigger and the wood stake flew, but Alaric caught it before it could go far. Damon looked surprised and Alaric saw it. "You wanted me to show you how to kill a vampire."

Melody flung a piece of hair out of her eyes. "I don't need a weapon. I can give her an aneurysm or burst her into flames if needed." The now adult girl was worried about Pan and Felix. While she would probably be killing Katherine, they would be just arriving at Mystic Falls. She wanted to call them but chose not to so she wouldn't worry them.

"Only for emergencies," Stefan told her. "Katherine's smart. She knows you have magic and that you will use it."

She rolled her eyes in annoyance but didn't argue with him since she knew he had a point. "Got it."

There was a pause of silence when Bonnie spoke up. "Stefan, can I speak to you for a second."

The said vampire looked at her and nodded, following her out of the room.

Caroline glanced up from where she stood, looking concerned for the brunette. "Melody, didn't you say that your dad and his husband were coming?"

Melody nodded, sharing the expression with a sigh, rubbing her forehead. "Yeah. And my dad is probably going to freak out." She shook her head, placing her hands on her hips. "I told him he shouldn't have come."

"Maybe he could help?" Alaric suggested, getting another weapon ready.

She made a face. "Maybe. But he's just checking up on me. He has a son to take care of and a ton of hormonal teenage boys."

Caroline stomped her foot. "I swear, you have to take me to your hometown someday," she whined. "It sounds amazing. I mean, who wouldn't love being in a town full of fairytale characters?"

Melody cracked a smile, amused by her actions. "It isn't what you think it is, trust me. My dad didn't actually treat the lost boys nicely at first. The Evil Queen isn't actually evil. Snow really pisses me off sometimes. And Hook is a total softie."

Alaric looked over at her just as Caroline gawked. "Your dad is Peter Pan, your mom is the Evil Queen, your friends with a lot of other characters, and your best friend in the entire world is Captain Hook." She looked to the ceiling, raising her hands up. "That is awesome."

She shook her head and laughed. "I guess it is pretty cool. But when it is your life, it doesn't impress you too much."

Stefan and Bonnie walked back in not long after that. Alaric spoke first to break any tension that was about to happen due to the silence. "Are you sure you guys don't want me there tonight?"

"No, I need you to stay with Elena. I don't want her to know about this," Stefan told him.

Melody couldn't help but scoff, crossing her arms over her chest. "Good luck with that one. All she does is stick her nose everywhere like a dog. I seriously have mixed feelings about her. I really need to get my priorities straight."

Caroline smiled while Stefan ignored her words, speaking to the entire group. "Alright, if anybody wants to back out, I'll understand."

"Yes, please do," Damon agreed, speaking up for the first time in a little bit. "We can't have some pity taker ruining everything." All of their eyes went to Caroline.

She gave them all a look. "I won't," she replied firmly. "Look, she killed me. Fair's fair. As long as there's no werewolf running around."

He smirked. "Oh, I took care of Mason."

Melody slapped him on the arm with a roll of her eyes. "We noticed."

"As long as Tyler doesn't kill anyone, he won't turn," Jeremy explained.

They all looked over at Bonnie who was watching unsurely. Melody could feel her magic already brewing in her veins. She could feel it getting ready as if it knew that something major was about to happen. Then her dad and her step-dad came to mind again. Pan and Felix would get to the town later tonight so she hoped, prayed that Katherine would be taken care of by then.

"Bonnie? Are you with us?" Stefan asked.

A long pause stretched out and you could hear a pin drop as the group waited for the Bennett to answer. She sighed. "But no one gets hurt."

"The only one who is going to get hurt is Katherine," Melody pointed out. "She gets a nice pointy wooden stake through her black-filled heart."

They all nodded at her words and Damon smirked. "I'm liking your dark side, lost girl."

Melody turned to him and glared. "You honestly think I haven't heard that one before?" She rolled her eyes at him again and took Caroline's hand and dragged her up, pulling her away. "You are going to help me get ready."

Caroline smiled widely, thrilled to help her. "Hell yeah."

———

Melody had dressed up nicely in a navy blue dress with white flats, leaving her hair down in her naturally wavy hair. She wore no makeup besides a natural looking lipstick Caroline let her borrow and some mascara. Damon had taken the courtesy to compliment her and make comments to which she gave him an aneurysm the rest of the way. She almost laughed at the irony of the fact that she had done that before to him.

When they arrived, Damon had looped his arm with hers and the fairytale woman glared. Yet she didn't let go. The older Salvatore had decided to be her date. It's only for one night, she told herself. It could be worse.

They looked around outside and Damon leaned to the side to talk to her. "Do you see her?"

"Nope," she replied. "This plan better work."

"Agreed. When the time comes, you won't hesitate right?"

She gave him a sideways glance. "Hesitate? I should be asking you that. You spent 145 loving her. Not me. I've spent days hating her guts and imagining ways to kill her in my brain."

Damon looked at her with a serious look. "I won't hesitate."

Melody knew he was being serious so she nodded. "Okay. Let's join the party shall we?"

He smirked and they walked inside the Mansion. Before they could go far, Melody felt her phone buzz in her purse. Damon heard it and they stopped. She got out her phone, seeing that it was her dad. When she looked up, Damon nodded to her and removed his arm from her's. He walked away to give her privacy. She walked to a quiet corner to answer the phone.

"Dad?" she answered.

"Hey, just wanted to let you know that we're going to be there soon. We just need the address to the Boarding House."

The brunette looked around before looking back at the space in front of her, making a face and clenching her fists as she tried to think of what to say. "Now's not a great time. I'm kinda in the middle of something."

Pause. "Is that music?" She winced, ready for the yelling coming her away. Right as she pulled her phone from her ear, Pan's voice screamed through the speakers. "Melody are you at a party? A party with teenage boys who can't control their hands, alcohol, drugs, shall I continue?"

She sighed, bringing it back to her ear. "Look, dad. I'm old enough to go to parties. You and Felix go to them all the time." He went to interrupt her and she knew it without even having to be next to him. "Don't you dare deny that. I don't even want to think about what you guys do afterward. I promise you if a guy tries anything I will rip his heart out."

"Not if I get there first."

"Dad!" She responded in an irritated tone. "Chill out! It is a party that I will survive. If it makes you feel any better I will call you once the party is over. Okay? Have some faith in your only daughter."

Pan mumbled something, probably in reply to Felix. He cleared his throat. "Fine. Call me right as you are walking out of the door of the party. Got it?"

"Yes, dad. I'll give you the address to the Boarding House but please be careful. This town isn't anything like StoryBrooke."

He smiled on the other line though she couldn't see it. It had been hard without her around and he missed her. So the immortal leader was excited to see her. "Will do. See you later. Love you."

"Love you."

They hung up and Melody texted him the address before putting her phone away. Stefan stood nearby and he motioned for her to follow. She sensed concern, quickly going over to join him in an empty room with the two brothers. "What happened?"

"Katherine happened," Damon told her. "Killed some high school girl. Stefan put her body in the trunk, and now, he's thinking about backing out."

"What?" She exclaimed, looking at Stefan who was avoiding her eyes. "You can't back out. If we cut the plan, we give Katherine another chance to strike at us. She needs to die or she's going to keep hurting people."

Damon nodded in agreement, glad that she was backing him up. "Katherine ruined our lives, Stefan. We end that tonight."

Stefan looked back at them and then nodded. "Alright."

———

"Where is she?" Katherine snapped, walking right into their trap.

Melody smirked from where she hid. They had done it. They deceived Katherine Pierce herself. And the fact made her feel smug. Caroline started to laugh and the doppelganger slowly turned to her. "I did it! I really didn't think that I'd be able to fool you but I did it!"

Katherine flashed over but then stopped, realizing she couldn't leave the room or reach the blonde since stood at the other side of the threshold, protected. "What the...?" But then she heard footsteps. She had been tricked and it made her blood boil. "Melody. Stefan."

She turned to see the fairytale woman next to the younger Salvatore. Melody continued to smirk. "Hello, Katherine. Nice to see you again."

Caroline sent her two friends a smile before turning on her heel and leaving.

"You don't really think that you can kill me with that now, do you?" Katherine questioned, referring to the stake Stefan had in his hands. She looked at Melody. "Or do you think that a pathetic little aneurysm can kill me?"

The brunette still smirked. "Naw, that's boring. But we have something that can kill you."

Damon got his cue and walked out of the closet, holding the compressed air weapon. He shot Katherine in the back and she yelled in pain. Stefan rushed to Katherine, driving a stake through her arm. Melody then walked forward and used her magic to choke her, keeping the doppelganger in place.

Stefan took the stake out of her back. Katherine tried to take the stake back from him. When she did obtain it, she went to stake Damon but Melody started choking her again. Katherine started to choke and stood in her place, not being able to move again. Damon went over to her and was about to kill her when Jeremy arrived outside the door, looking frantic.

"Stop!" he yelled. "You're hurting Elena! Everything you're doing to her is hurting Elena!"

Melody released her magic bind on the vampire and Damon stopped in his place, looking shocked. Katherine smiled and rubbed her neck. "You think you three are the only ones with a witch on your side? Wrong and something tells me that my witch is better than your witch."

She took the stake from Damon's hand and Stefan looked at Jeremy. "Jeremy, go check on Elena," he instructed. "Make sure she's okay. Go!"

The Gilbert left and Katherine still smiled and walked behind them. The three didn't move their eyes from her as they watched. Melody glared at her fiercely. She was so tempted to just snap her neck. But then she knew that Elena would die, meaning that Stefan and Damon would hate her. There was no point in denying it now; their plan failed.

"Let's all make sure poor Elena is okay," Katherine taunted. "Just a little bit more pressure." She cut her hand with the stake and Melody used her magic to fling the stake across the room. Katherine only used her sped to pick up the stake again and held it to her stomach. "I bet I'll be quicker than your magic will be." She wasn't wrong.

"Wait!" Damon exclaimed.

Katherine smirked and lowered the stake. She sat on the couch calmly, looking at them. "Okay. So, how about that moonstone?"

Melody sat on the arms of one of the other couches. She flexed her fingers and kept her glare in place. Pan and Felix would be here any minute and she was nervous. But trying to hide it was difficult. They had failed and now she was worried Katherine would retaliate in response. She could hurt her dad and Felix. If that happened, Melody would never forgive herself.

The doppelganger sighed, bring her out of her thoughts. "The three of us together just like old times. The brother who loved me too much and the one that didn't love me enough." She frowned and looked over at Melody. "I guess you're the fourth-wheel."

Melody smiled sarcastically. "At least I'm not an evil slut who only loves herself."

Katherine laughed. "I really like you. You got sass. I like that."

"Sorry. I don't lean that way."

"That's too bad. We could've made a perfect team. We could've brought this whole town down to its knees."

Stefan and Damon watched as Melody laughed humorously. They knew that Katherine was manipulative and that she could get inside of your head, get you to do what she wanted. And they were worried that she would get Melody under her spell.

"You need to get your facts straight Katherine," Melody replied, actually thoroughly amused. "Just because my dad is a little power hungry, or used to be at least, doesn't mean that I am. So stop trying to seduce me and stick to what you do best: being a bitch."

Melody was glad when Katherine switched her attention to Stefan and Damon. "Does Elena enjoy having both of you worship at her alter?"

"That was really desperate, Katherine," Stefan accused. "Don't you think that we can see right through you?"

"So it doesn't bother you that Damon's in love with your girlfriend?"

"Oh, stop it."

"Or what? You'll hurt me?" She got up and Melody did too. The fairytale woman needed to be ready if something were to happen because Katherine had plenty of tricks up her sleeve. Melody only wished Pan had taught her the tricks to catching someone off guard. "Come on, Stefan. Everything that I feel, Elena feels, so go ahead." Then she looked at Damon. "Or better yet, kiss me, Damon. She'll feel that too."

Melody rolled her eyes and spoke up. "You know, I've been wondering about the whole Mason thing. Why a werewolf of all creatures? The moonstone can break a curse that would help them destroy all vampires. Ergo, you would die. So what's in that for you?"

Damon smirked. "Yeah sorry about your pet wolf, probably should have kept him on a tighter leash."

Katherine crossed her legs over each other when she sat back down. "I'll have to remember that for next time. He's not the only wolf in town."

"Tyler," Melody realized with a raised eyebrow, not believing it.

The brunette looked over at her with a smile. "And you're smart."

Melody rolled her eyes again. Damon started to walk around the room and then stopped at the doorway. "Damn it! Where is that witch?" he cursed.

"We could play charades," Katherine suggested.

Melody was starting to get bored and began picking at her nails. Stefan was pacing nearby and then stopped when he realized something. "You bargained the moonstone."

"What are you mumbling about over there?" Damon questioned when he turned around.

Stefan pointed at Katherine and Melody looked up from her nails. "When you struck a deal with George Lockwood, to help you fake your death, you told me that you gave George something that he needed. It was the moonstone, wasn't it?"

"Good for you, Stefan," Katherine complimented. "Two plus two...And it would have worked except that people found out that I wasn't in the tomb." She looked over at Damon. "Thanks to you, by the way. Have I mentioned how inconvenient your obsession with me has been?"

He smirked in a painful way. "You and me both, honey."

"Why do you need it back?" Melody asked.

Katherine turned to her and looked her up and down. "Did I mention that you look gorgeous in that dress?"

"Did I mention that your head on a silver platter makes me smile?"

Her words were ignored by them except for the little glare she got from the Petrova. Stefan walked closer to her. "What were you doing with the moonstone in the first place?"

"You're wasting your breath, Stefan," Damon pointed out.

Melody began to think hard and then came to her own realization. "The moonstone wasn't yours." All eyes went back to her. "You faked your death, and someone would do that if they were running." She smirked with a tiny scoff of disbelief. "You were running from someone, weren't you Katherine?"

"Come on Melody. Aren't you even the least bit interested in my offer? Come with me and we will see the world together. Just you and me."

Melody stood up and glared. "Who were you running from Katherine?"

The doppelganger just smirked and skimmed past her, making her even more pissed. Stefan saw and went over to her. "Don't listen to her, Mel. She's just trying to rally you up."

She nodded in response. "I know. And it's working."

Damon poured her a scotch and she thanked him, taking it and gulping it down in one swig.

"We're missing the party," Katherine sighed, now by the window, gazing out of it. She looked over at Damon who was pouring another glass. "I'll have one of those."

"Right away, Miss Katherine," Damon mimicked.

He gave her the glass and Melody scoffed. Katherine thanked him, drinking from it. But then Damon grabbed her and pushed her to the wall, he tried to stake her but Stefan pulled him back. Melody just watched. Though Elena dying would cause problems, she had to admit that killing Katherine and letting Elena die was for a good cause that would save everyone else. Couldn't Elena just sacrifice herself to save the people she loved instead of being stubborn and getting herself in more trouble?

"No, no! Damon, don't!" Stefan argued.

"Yes, Damon, please," Katherine smirked.

"The second the spell is lifted, I'm gonna drive a stake right through your heart," Damon told her.

"God, you're hot. When did you get so hot?"

Damon moved back and Katherine got off from the wall. Melody saw a girl standing in the doorway, holding the moonstone. "Katherine," the witch called. They all looked at her. "The spell on this room has been broken, you're free to leave."

"Thank goodness," Katherine sighed in relief, walking over to her witch.

Lucy held the moonstone back from her. "When I hand this over my debt to you is over."

"Done."

"I owe you nothing."

"I said done. Give it."

Melody got up and sat the glass down. "I wouldn't do that if I were you."

The witch didn't listen and held out the moonstone to Katherine. When Katherine went to grab it, she touched and then started to gasp. "You should have told me another witch was involved," Lucy told her with a glare. "She's a Bennett witch, Katherine, but I'm sure you knew that."

"Wait, Elena!" Stefan exclaimed.

"Elena's fine." Katherine fell to the floor gasping and Melody smirked. "The spell is broken. She'll heal quickly, Bonnie's with her. I apologize for my involvement."

Lucy turned and left while Katherine fell to the ground unconscious. Melody nodded, impressed. "Turns out we won after all."

———

Melody was walking out of the Mansion, getting ready to call her dad when someone called out to her. "Hey!" She turned to see the witch from earlier. Lucy walked up to her and smiled. "Melody, right? I'm Lucy."

She raised an eyebrow, a bit confused but nodded nonetheless. "Um, yeah. It's nice to meet you, Lucy. Thank you for helping us by the way." The fairytale woman saw the look on Lucy's face and then tilted her head. "Do you need something?"

Lucy sighed. "No, I just... wanted to see if you were really her."

Melody shifted onto her other foot, still looking confused. "I'm sorry what?"

"You really have no idea do you?"

"What are you talking about?"

Lucy looked around and then stopped when she saw something. Melody turned around but saw no one where the witch was looking. She looked back at Lucy and repeated herself.

"It isn't my place to tell," the witch told her, looking a bit scared. "He needs to tell you. And I can't. Just prepare yourself. You're going to need it." Lucy quickly walked away and Melody stood in shock. She stood there for a bit before she regained her sense and began walking to her car.

"Melody!" Melody let out a sigh of annoyance and turned to see Elena approaching her. She was too pissed and stressed to notice her bad feeling radar going crazy. The doppelganger stopped in front of her. "I just wanted to thank you, for helping Stefan and Damon with Katherine."

"I've told you before Elena, I just want to help. But in all honesty, I was about to let you die for the betterment of the world." Elena was about to reply when she saw something. The Gilbert went wide-eyed and Melody noticed. "Elena, what's—"

"Behind you!"

Melody spun around but the masked figure knocked her out. Elena tried to scream and run for help but then the masked figure went to her and grabbed her too. He covered her mouth and she fell unconscious. Then the masked figure took them, putting them into his car. He got in a drove off.

The vampire who was watching Melody with Lucy got out his phone and called the first number on the top of the list. He answered right away, already sounding angry.

"What happened to her?" he growled.

"She's been taken. What do you want me to do?"

The other line was quiet before he replied, "Keep an eye on the person who took her, if anything happens to her, if anyone harms her, call me right away or I promise you, you will meet a slow and painful death, understand?"

"Yes, sir."

The vampire hung up and then followed the car that held Melody inside.

———

Stefan walked into the Boarding House to see Damon causally sipping his bourbon. He glanced around, getting an off feeling. "Where's Melody?"

Damon shrugged. "No idea. I thought she was with you." He turned around to see Stefan's worried face. "She's not with you is she?"

His younger brother stood in shock and went to reply when someone busted through the door. They turned to see two guys. The one looked angry and the other looked concerned, holding the other back.

"Where the hell is my daughter?!" the angry one yelled.

Damon and Stefan were now both shocked. The raven-haired vampire shook his head, trying not to freak out. "Well brother, looks like Melody wasn't kidding after all. I'm just going to go get in my grave."

———

I had Katherine flirting with Melody because remember, Katherine just wants Melody for her magic. So if she has Melody on her side, she basically has power over the Mystic Falls gang. Pan and Felix are now in Mystic Falls! What do you think will happen now? And a vampire is watching Melody. Who do you think sent the vampire to watch after her? I hope you guys have a great day/night and don't forget to vote on this chapter, comment your thoughts, and follow me for updates!
