Joker stepped off the stairs of the plane to the wet, black asphalt beneath his feet. Rain pounded down on his head as some men in raincoats quickly ran over with umbrellas.
Fucking Seattle. Fucking always raining.
Hatter followed with Lisbeth who was shaking from more than the cold. Seattle; her hometown. She never, ever wanted to come
back here. But, here she was being led to retrieve a woman who she thought she would never see again and to see a man she never wanted to see again.
This was going to go badly-there was no doubt about that.
They were led to a large airplane hanger and were greeted by a smiling Dig and Mateo.
"Friends, welcome to the beautiful Pacific Northwest!"
Joker walked right up to him and clapped a hand on his shoulder, a smile on his face. "Good to be here, Dig! You don't know how happy your call made me!"
Mateo walked up to J, a hand extended. "Mateo Leon. It is good to be working with you Mister J. My brother has had nothing but good things to say about you."
J let out a friendly laugh, shaking the man's hand. "I appreciate your family's help in retrieving my wayward girl."
Mateo laughed before looking over at the blonde girl, whose face was turned towards the ground; her blonde waves covering her eyes. "Is this the little angel my brother has become so enamored with?"
"It is." J said, trying not to grit his teeth at the intense stare the man was giving his little Lisbeth. J walked over to Lisbeth, putting two fingers gently under her chin, forcing her to look up.
Her lips visibly trembled as the man looked her up and down. Her hair was a mess and her makeup was smeared; light bruises littered her face and neck. Mateo stepped closer before laughing and turning to J.
"She smells delightful! Like innocence corrupted by violent sex!!" He let out a hearty laugh.
J couldn't help but return a laugh. "You didn't expect me to hand her over without one last fuck did you?"
Dig joined in the laughter. "No man could resist it, my friend."
Mateo had stopped laughing and was gazing at the young blonde haired man next to Lisbeth. His arm was around her waist protectively and he glared daggers at the men in front of him.
"Why don't you tell your little girl's guard dog to step down?"
J laughed more loudly at that; glancing over at Hatter. "I think I will let him keep guard over her for now, becauuuusssseee," he drawled out, looking around the large room, "I do not see my queen anywhere."
Dig grinned. "Oh, don't worry my friend! We have her right here!" He turned around and let out a shrill whistle that echoed loudly in the large empty expanse of the hanger
A door suddenly opened at the opposite end of the room and about 10 of the Leon family's men came filing out. Two of the men were carrying a struggling blonde girl. He hands were bound behind her back and her legs were tied tightly together. There was duck tape over her mouth and you could hear her muffled yells trying to come out. J let out a loud, thundering laugh as Lisbeth paled in horror. It was Belle Reve all over again.
Lisbeth tried to step forward as the men dragged her over but Hatter kept a strong grip on her waist, holding her back.
The men came forward dropping her to the floor in front of J, they then stepped back, positioning themselves around the Leon brothers.
J crouched down, taking in Harley. She looked so different; her hair was a golden wheat
color and her tattoos were covered in make-up. He hated this normalized Harley. Hate spilled from his him as he gazed into her eyes. He roughly grabbed her chin and squeezed.
"Oh baby," he hissed in a low, cold voice. "You are going to regret the day you ever left me. You are going to beg me just to kill you!" He let go of her chin and pushed her roughly down, before standing up and cracking his neck. A growl coming from his throat.
He signaled over to Jonny who rushed over to Mateo with a suitcase.
"It's all in there." J sneered. "Feel free to count it."
Mateo just smiled. "That won't be necessary. Friends trust each other."
Dig looked over at J. "And as a sign of our good will and friendly intentions, we present you with a gift, to do with as you feel fit."
From the corner of the room, two more men walked out of the shadows, holding a bound and unconscious man between them.
Lisbeth put her hand to her mouth. It was Floyd.
J grinned. "Deeeeeeaddddshot." he let out in a long purr. "That is very kind of you. I would be very happy to have a chance to show him all of my toys!" He let out a loud cackle as the men threw Floyd to the ground next to Harley, who let out a strangled cry.
"Now, Mister J." Dig let out in a soft voice. "I believe you owe me something."
J smiled. "Of course!" He looked over at Hatter
and snapped his fingers. "Hand Nursey over!"
Hatter grit his teeth, trying to stop the tears, as Lisbeth trembled in his arms.
Mateo couldn't help but laugh. "Seems the guard dog has taken a liking to her." He turned to Hatter. "Sorry, little boy, but we have no use for a protector for her. We will take care of her just fine."
J threw an angry look at Hatter. "Give her to him now!" He growled.
Hatter felt so angry and conflicted. Where was Boss' plan? Why was he just fucking handing her over. He glanced over to see Dig's men slowly putting their hands to their guns.
Boss had better come through.
Hatter quickly put his hands around Lisbeth and whispered a tear-filled "I'm sorry!" before he gently pushed Lisbeth towards the men opposite them.
Dig smiled as he quickly pulled the terrified girl into his arm. He delighted in the smell of fear radiating off her skin.
Joker looked over at them, an expressionless look on his face as his men picked up Harley and Deadshot and started heading outside towards the plane. "I guess I will be seeing you back in Gotham, then, Dig."
Dig smiled, his hands digging into the crying Lisbeth's hips. "Good doing business with you friend."
J turned around and started walking away. Right as he got to the door though, he froze and turned around.
Wait, Dig! Just one more thing...."
