"Hi everyone. Welcome back to Daebak Show with Eric Nam!"
"It has been a whole week, and today we're back with another episode of this show. This time, with a very, very special guest. She flew into South Korea to film our show."
"It has been almost 7 years since she retired from the entertainment industry, and she returned to her hometown. Her life has been a rollercoaster. Even to me, it's a really hard life, but according to her, currently, she's enjoying her life very much."
"Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to the one and only SUNNY!"
The staff behind the cameras, together with Eric, clapped for Sunny. Sunny laughed and clapped, thanking the staff and Eric for the applause.
"Thank you. Thank you so much. You guys didn't have to clap for me," Sunny chuckled.
"Of course, we have to. Sunny, please, introduce yourself to the viewers who are watching our show today," Eric said, showing the main camera to look at.
Sunny smiled and bowed to the camera, "Hi, everyone. I am Sunny. Nice to see you."
"I'm really grateful and thankful to you for accepting our invitation to be featured in this show. I really wanted to have you here again. It's been almost 10 years since the last time you were featured in this show," Eric said.
Sunny chuckled, "Yes, I remembered it. It's been a very long time."
"So, how long have you not been back in Korea?" Eric asked.
"Ever since I got married. It's been around 6 or 7 years. Or maybe 5. But a lot has changed since I've returned to my hometown. A lot changed," Sunny replied.
"What did you feel? Coming back to here," he said.
"Oh well, a lot was in my head. And my heart too. Upon arriving at the airport, I was really nervous. But I was relieved that not many people recognized me," Sunny says.
"Maybe because they don't believe that it's you?" Eric said before laughing.
Sunny laughed along, "Probably!"
"Well, did you have a lot of flashbacks upon arriving and looking at the buildings?" he asked.
"I did. I had a lot of flashbacks. It was overwhelming when I drove past the HYBE building. It was really overwhelming," Sunny nodded, giving a sad smile.
"It must've been hard for you," Eric smiled at her.
"It is hard. But yeah, I've learned to let go. Even letting go takes time. But I can see that I'm slowly leaving it. So, yeah. Not much of a problem," Sunny chuckled.
"I wished we had the cameras rolling before this, though. We talked a lot, though," he said.
Sunny grinned and nodded, "Yeah. We talked a lot."
"So, I haven't asked you this enough yet. How have you been? How's life?" Eric asked her while holding a few pieces of stapled paper.
Sunny smiled, "Good. Life has been very good for me. My family had just recently grown. I gave birth to my twins 3 months ago, which was an absolute blessing to our family. Both boys. So, it was a really jackpot with boys. All four kids are boys. Great."
Eric gasped softly, "Yeah! You just gave birth, actually! Congratulations on the new family members!"
Sunny laughed, "Thank you! Thank you so much. Well, life has been good. As usual, there are ups and downs. But most of the time, I'm just focusing on the good. I"m grateful for what I have right now."
"I love your positivity. You're an inspiring woman, artist, royal family member, mother, friend, and daughter. I almost forgot that you were once a K-pop idol, too. Can we like to go through your K-Profile when you were still an idol?" Eric asked.
Sunny laughed once more, "Sure. I haven't opened mine since forever!"
"Talk about reminiscing the past," Eric laughed.
Eric flipped the paper and looked at the page.
"Stage name, Sunny. Your real name is Sunny Merideth James. I believe you're Alyana Merideth James after converting into a Muslim, right?" Eric said.
Sunny nodded, "Yes. You got that correct."
"Korean name, Kim Sun-kyung. Birthplace, Sabah, Malaysia. Languages spoken: English, Malay, Korean, Mandarin, and Japanese. This is amazing. Do you still speak all these languages fluently?" Eric asked Sunny.
"I do. I can now speak Thai, German, and French fluently. I took lessons for it last year and went straight into fluent this year," Sunny told him.
"God, you're a really fast learner," Eric sighed, jealous of Sunny's greatness.
Sunny just laughed.
"Gender, female. Pronouns, she/her, always. Relationship status: single. But now, you're happily married. Height, 178 cm. Body modifications: you have four piercings. Are they still there?"
Sunny said, "I've not worn earrings for 5 or 4 years. After getting married, I haven't worn any earrings."
"Noted. So, you have two older brothers, Cavin and Adrian. A younger sister who is also a K-Pop idol, Adelia. Adelia, who is in D'FECT, right?" Eric asked. Sunny nodded with a smile.
"You went to a local government school in Malaysia and graduated high school in 2019. You continued your studies at Seoul National University in TESL. You're an educated woman. And it's really, really inspiring."
"Currently, you're a full-time wife, mother of four sons, full-time royal family member of Malaysia, and CEO of Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts. You're no more an artist, you're no more performing in front of people, going on concert tours, no more flying here and there."
"No more attending award shows, no more filming music videos, no more writing songs, no more dancing. What do you do now?"
"How does your day go by every single day?" he asked.
"My day starts at 7 am. Ends around 12 a.m. Sometimes earlier. Depends on how my schedule for the next day is. It depends. But usually, starts at 7 am and ends around midnight."
"For now, my eldest is currently schooling in Kuala Lumpur. He's staying with my oldest brother's family, Adrian. They're the ones taking care of Adam. Sometimes, they come over to Pahang to stay over. Adam will also come back."
"So, I'm only taking care of my second and twins. Not much because my second child isn't schooling yet. He's just at home, and I have a babysitter at my place."
"And even during the day, I have two babysitters to help me care for my twins. Sometimes, my family-in-law will come over to care for my kids. Because God, caring for twins at night is very exhausting."
"For now, I don't attend royal events yet. My husband insisted that I stay at home for now. Relax, no royal protocol events. No stressing out. Just do what you want, but no public official appearance. So, yeah. We're good there."
"I would wake up at 7 am, go through the house, tell the babysitters what to take care of, maybe eat breakfast, and then go back to sleep until around 10 am. I wake up and then shower and get ready for the day."
"My husband will come back for lunch for these few months because he wanted to know how I was doing. He has been going on about this postpartum depression, and no joke."
"Because when my second child was born, it was really hard for me, honestly."
"So, he made sure I was getting postpartum depression this time. And thank God. Everyone was just being so freaking helpful. I can rest a lot. Especially the first month. I was healing. Everyone was helping me out and so understanding."
"After the first month, I got back to exercising and taking good care of my food intake. Because I was breastfeeding, I am giving my babies a full nutrient."
"Also, a lot of family time during the second month. My husband was mostly at home. He had much free time during the second month, and God, I was so relieved."
"So usually, lunch and then nap again. A lot of resting. If not lunch, we'll go out in the car and go for a car ride. He ensured I got ice cream and snacks when we rode a car. So, yeah."
"And every weekend, Friday evening until Sunday evening, my in-laws will be at our house. For Saturday and Sunday, they'll be taking care of twins. By mean, my in-laws, including my siblings too. The house will be a lot of people during the weekend."
"But good thing, they're helpful. I don't do anything. And then I feel really guilty. They don't even let me wash the dishes. Don't let me even get up from the seat."
"Well, on weekdays, I just eat, care for the baby, do laundry, clean a little, phone, care for the baby, and just kinda repeat everything I just did."

"With whom are you still in contact right now? The ones who you always talk to or get their updates even once a month right now," Eric asked.
"Yuna. We've been friends for a long time. So, yeah. She's the closest I'm with right now. Even after this filming, I'll be going on a dinner with her later on. We haven't met for a long time, and she hasn't met my kids yet. She's going to meet them later on."
"Other than Yuna, other friends?"
"Of course. TXT, ENHYPEN, Taehyung, Jungkook, Jimin, all of BTS, SEVENTEEN too. Jamie, Somi, EXO, TWICE, NCT Ten, Taeyong, Haechan, Jisung, Jaemin, and Sunwoo."
"It's nice to see you're still in contact with the members. I've seen you posted photos of you going to their concerts too. But I didn't see you taking photos with them," Eric said.
"Yes, most of the time, I just go back after watching the concert. The protocols are quite strict regarding being in a crowded place at night. But I did contact them and told them, hey, I did go to your concert. Unfortunately, I'm going back now."
"If your relationship with your friends is great. What about you and your ex-husband?"
Sunny smiled and chuckled, "We don't talk or meet anymore."
"You don't?" Eric asked, looking surprised.
Sunny nodded.
"So, how does your eldest son meet him?" he asked.
"He'll come to Malaysia or discuss the matter with Adrian. We don't talk anymore. No contact, no meeting, no nothing. I don't talk about him anymore."
"So, is he a taboo in your family now?" Eric asked.
"Not really. We don't talk about the past. It's over, and we end it there. No more talking about him. That's the end, that's all."
"Alright. I can understand since I know what you went through. You were getting treatment, and you have healed when you found out what happened," Eric said.
Sunny nodded.
"What was your initial plan after healing fully?"
"Go back home and reunite."
"Your plan didn't work out, eh?"
"No. But I'm grateful it didn't. I was met with a better man who can provide me better."
