Wren woke up before Madeline and decided to make her breakfast since she was tired from last night's events. She grabbed the ingredients and started preparing the breakfast for her. A short while later, Madeline woke up to the smell of French toast and eggs in the morning. She rubbed her eyes from the sleepiness and stretched her body as she swung her legs by the side of the bed and started walking to where the aroma led.
Wren was serving the food in the plates and felt arms wrapped around her from behind and soft lips, pressed against her cheek.
"Hey, what're you doing here up so early?" asked Madeline against her back.
"I was supposed to serve you breakfast in the bed, but I guess I should've woken up earlier than that. My plan has failed."
Madeline chuckled dislodging her arms from Wren and went by her side, checking the food. "You were tired since last night and I just wanted to apologize properly to you, you know." She shrugged.
"No need. We talked about it and I forgive you but also I'm sorry that I didn't trust you. I guess I was afraid of losing you because of some other woman and you know how it is. You could say I was a bit insecure and jealous especially the Georgina part."
Wren smiled and pulled Madeline by her PJ shirt, leading her to giggle before connecting their lips together. Madeline smiled against her lips and grabbed the back of her head, eagerly pulling her closer for an intense kiss in the morning. Wren pulled back softly, closing her eyes and leaned her forehead against Madeline's before kissing it.
"By the way, your dad called and he said that your mom's awake. She's a little bit tired from the accident but she's fine." Wren pulled back to look at Madeline. "So I was thinking if you wanna go today I can take you to her."
"But you'll be late to work?"
Wren smiled and brushed her cheek. "It's just work. It's not like it's gonna go anywhere, so what do you say?"
Madeline grinned and nodded slowly.
"Now let's have breakfast."
She grabbed her hand and pulled the chair for her as she served her the breakfast and joined her.

They walked hand in hand through the hospital hallway, looking for Lena's room that was in the second floor. They reached the room and Madeline knocked lightly on the door and then entered with Wren following her.
Lena was sitting on the bed with a cast and arm sling for her arm and she had a few bruises on her face and body like the doctor said, but when she smiled at both of them, Madeline felt comfort and relief and in return squeezed Wren's hand.
"Mom," she said softly, taking her hand back from Wren and went by the side of the bed to her mother. "You scared me so much. I was there, I saw the ambulance taking you, I was so scared."
Her eyes were glassy as she spoke every single word and her mom reached up with her good hand and wiped the tear that nearly rolled down her cheek. Wren walked over to them and smiled warmly at Lena who returned the smile and looked back at her daughter while Wren stroked her back gently.
"I'm okay, honey." said Lena with a calm voice. "I'm a journalist, remember? I'm strong enough to handle a broken arm and a few bruises on my face and body." She joked, earning a chuckle from Madeline as she wiped her tears.
"Yeah, you're right." said Madeline, grabbing her mother's hand and pulled it upward to her cheek. "You're Lena Anderson."
"It's nice to see you, Wren."
"It's good to see you getting better, Lena." she said.
"Can I touch your bicep?" asked Lena and Wren laughed softly with Madeline.
"Hmmm, maybe when you get better, I don't want you to get to excited."
"Buzzkill." said Lena.
"No, she's right, mom. Don't forget that she's my fiancée too."
Lena laughed softly. "Okay, okay, fair point."
They heard a knock on the door and their eyes turned to the person who walked in the room, it was Dan.
"Oh! Hey, guys! I didn't know you'd be here, corky."
"Hey, dork." said Madeline giving him a hug.
He and Wren greeted each other before he walked over to his mom and bent down on his knees, grabbing his mom's hand.
"How are you feeling today, old woman?"
"Better than you, Nosy."
He made a cringe face when she said his teddy bear's name and both Madeline and Wren chuckled.
"Ma! Not in front of Wren!" he said out of embarrassment.
Wren's phone rang and she pulled it out, seeing it was Eleanor. Madeline squeezed her shoulder, grabbing her attention.
Wren smiled and kissed her cheek. "Excuse me." she said to all before leaving the room to answer her phone call.
Wren answered the call and sighed heavily when Eleanor said that she had an important meeting today. With all what happened in the last few days, Wren forgot that she had a meeting with one of the biggest enterprises in the world.
Right after she hung up on Eleanor, Madeline came out of the room and saw the look on Wren's face that indicated exhaustion.
"Hey."
"Something came up." She ran a hand through her hair and averted her eyes from Madeline's. "I know I promised you that-"
"Wren, you can go." She smiled reassuringly, walking closer to her. "I understand."
"Appreciate that, but are you sure?"
"Yes." She kissed her cheek. "You've done enough already. I'll probably stay here with my mom and Dan. He will take me home later."
Wren smiled and kissed her forehead. "Okay if that's what you want. Love you."
"Love you too."

Wren was pacing her office with the phone pressed on her ear as she was talking with Eleanor.
"What do you mean by tomorrow?! Why not next week so that I could be ready?... I know, I know... It's just with everything that Madeline is going through I can't leave her... Her mom is still in the hospital." She pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed. "Okay... fine... I'll do it."
She hung up the phone, placed it on the desk and opened the door, grabbing Georgina's attention, motioning for her to come in her office.
"Call Charles and tell him I need my jet to be ready tomorrow at 11:00 AM, okay? And You're coming with me to New York. We have a meeting there, so bring your suitcase and be prepared. We don't know for how long we will be staying there. Also before I forget, book us the rooms. Two separate rooms in any hotel that will be near the company."
She nodded while writing down her notes and Wren looked at her desk, thinking if she is missing something.
"I think that's all for now."
Wren met Georgina's blue eyes as she blinked twice.
"You can go right? I mean because I'm gonna need you there with me during the meeting and if you're busy with something that's important I can take Emily instead."
"No, no. I can go with you to New York. It's just... I'm shocked I guess. We're leaving tomorrow, that's all. It's too early to pack a bag."
She chuckled with Wren as they agreed.
"Yeah." Wren sighed and averted her eyes from Georgina for a second then met her eyes again. "You know what? Go home and pack your things. We're done today anyway."
"Umm, okay."
She whirled around and made her way to the door and locked eyes with Wren one more time with a smile before closing the door behind her.

Back at home, Madeline was on the phone talking with her sister as she was with their mom at the hospital.
"How's mom?"
"She's good. She's sleeping now, but before that she was... you know our mom being our mom, and by our mom I mean being our strict mom who makes fun of Dan and scolds him at the same time."
She chuckled lightly. "Yeah, I know that. I'm glad the accident didn't affect her in anyway. She's so positive about everything."
Rose scoffed on the phone. "She's mom! And a retired journalist! How come she can't be tough and one heck of a badass woman?!"
"Language!" said Lena behind Rose's back on the hospital bed. "I'm still awake, old lady."
"Mom, I'm 29 years old."
"Exactly, you're old!"
Madeline laughed heartily when she heard the background conversation between her mother and sister and her laugh started to fade when Rose came back.
"Sorry."
"It's okay." she spoke through her chuckles.
"Anyway, I've to go. Talk to you later and say hi to Wren for me."
She hung up the phone and heard the front door open by Wren as she made her entrance in the house. Madeline stood up from the couch and walked to Wren, flashing her the megawatt smile, snaking her arms around her neck and leaned forward for a soft kiss and in return Wren smiled against her lips.
"Hey, you. You're home early today."
"Yeah..." She closed her eyes and leaned her forehead against Madeline's shoulder, taking in her sweet perfume. "I need to talk to you about something." She pulled back, gazing at her eyes.
She took her hand and led them to the couch and took a seat beside each other. Wren looked down at the couch and tapped her fingers on it a few times before returning back at Madeline.
"I'm leaving for New York tomorrow for work."
"To- Tomorrow..." She said with raised eyebrows and Wren nodded.
"Yeah. Since Eleanor is with my dad in Australia, the only one who could go and solve the company's problem..."
"Is you." she continued softly. Wren sat properly on the couch and reached for her hand and stroked the back of it. "How long will you be gone?"
"I don't know... maybe a week or two. Maybe."
Madeline scoffed jokingly. "Is this another one of your tricks like the last time you were gone for a week to plan the proposal?"
Wren smiled sadly and shook her head no slowly. "I wish it was, but it isn't."
Madeline smiled weakly and covered Wren's hand with hers and meet her brown eyes. "Do what you have to do."
"Look, the news came today and-"
"Wren, it's fine. I'm okay with it. I know you have to save your company. I understand and I love the fact that you're doing it." She kissed her cheek. "It's gonna be hard on both of us like the last time, but we have to get used to it. I understand what you need to do."
"So you're not mad?"
"Not mad, just surprised. I mean you're leaving tomorrow which is early." She shrugged with a weak smile at Wren.
Wren nodded and inhaled deeply. "My jet will be ready at 11:00 AM and, uh, since I promised I won't hide anything from you again... Georgina's coming with me because I'm gonna need her with me."
"Oh," she said softly to herself but then smiled again. "Alright. Seems fair to me, but babe, you really don't need to tell me everything you're doing with your life. I know we said not to hide anything from each other, but there are things that aren't necessary to be said. I trust you." She pecked her lips, moving closer. "And I love you."
Wren smiled, circling an arm around her waist. "I love you so much."
Wren grabbed Madeline's waist lifting her off the couch and placed her on her lap, leaning her head on her shoulder and Madeline kissed the top of her head, stroking the back of her hair.
"I'm gonna miss you." said Madeline.
"Me too." She kissed her shoulder and pulled back.
Madeline pecked her lips again and got off her lap, extending her hand to Wren. "Come on, we have a bag to pack."
"Is there anything more exciting afterwards?" she asked playfully and Madeline bit her lower lip.
"First the bag then we shall see, but don't get to excited. You have a long day tomorrow."
She smirked and walked behind Madeline who took her shirt off teasingly on her way to the bedroom. "Yes, ma'am."
