Zayaan's POV,

y eyes fluttered open, greeted by a warm sensation beneath me. My head throbbed as I lifted it, revealing Inarah beneath me. Panic surged as I recoiled, horrified to find her still form drenched in sweat.

The memories of last night's heated encounter rushed back, and I mentally berated myself. I had nearly confessed my love, and my actions were far from appropriate. What had I done?

She must think I've taken advantage of her, and self-loathing gnawed at me. How could I have lost control like that? Adding to the mess, I'd ended up asleep on top of her, unintentionally crushing her. I despised myself for my recklessness.

My heart ached with regret. I'm so sorry, my angel.

Inarah's POV,

I woke up to aching all over my body, groaning and wincing as I shifted. My eyes stayed closed, my mind replaying the events of last night. Tears welled up and trickled down my cheeks, pooling at the bridge of my nose.

Will I open my eyes to find him beside me, a warm smile waiting? But as my eyelids fluttered open, I was met with emptiness. I let out a sigh, sniffing and brushing away my tears, sitting up with a wince.

I knew it – there was no point in hoping. All I could do was pray he was okay, considering how high his fever had been.

Were his embraces and kisses mere amusements to him? Did he not feel anything like I did? His racing heart mirrored mine, but did it hold no significance for him? How could he be so heartless?

The floodgates broke, and I sobbed uncontrollably.

Dragging my feet, I walked to the kitchen with a faint hope of finding Zayaan there, yet another disappointment awaited me.

"Good morning, bhabhi!" Uddhav and Raghav entered.

I managed a forced smile. "Good morning, guys."

"What's wrong, beautiful? You look pale," Asad commented as he followed them in.

"It's nothing. Did you see Zayaan?"

"He left for the office 10 minutes ago."

A sad smile tugged at my lips. "Oh, I see."

He'd run away again.

"Hey, Uddhav?"

"Yes, bhabhi?"

"Can we postpone practice for a few days?" I requested.

"Yeah, sure. Is something the matter?"

I shook my head. "No, it's just... Ladies problem."

"Ah, I understand. Take some rest." His warm smile comforted me, and I nodded.

My periods had started this morning. No wonder I'd been so emotionally fragile since yesterday.

"Could you please bring my breakfast to my room?" I asked the maid, retreating to my space, avoiding Asad's scrutinizing gaze.

Uddhav's POV,
No practice today, and my workload is light. I'll finally get to meet Geeta. Ever since I proposed, she hasn't responded to my calls or texts. I hope she's okay.

"Hey, Uddhav bhai! Why that smile, huh? Thinking about bhabhi?" Raghav teased, nudging me.

I chuckled, scratching my head. "I'll be late today. Don't bother me."
