Chapter 7 : A Friendly Ride Or A Romantic Walk?

Maggie's POV,

"OMG no he didn't!!!" Lizzie shouted.

"Yes he so did! And then he looked at the floor then at you!" I told her.

"So he likes me?" She asked me and I could see the spark in her eye.

"I think so!" I said and paused "you will give him a chance wright?"

"Are you serious? Why wouldn't i?" She told me and hugged me.

"Well sorry to change the subject from Tris but mum got herself a new horse and it's suppose to arrive soon. Let's just say, that I need to teach James to ride aswell." I told her.

"You like him?" She raised an eye brow.

"God no! Lizzie! He's just a good friend! And since you won't ride with me..." I was about to continue and she put her hands up in surrender.

"Alright no need to have a go about it..." She had an attitude in her tone. I rolled my eyes at her and saw the trailer pull up. I ran down the stairs and out the door.

We got a Connemara mare. A gentle dark bay with four white socks. Dad gave money to then driver and I lead her into the arena. I was going to lounge her to see how she moves. She had a nice steady trot and canter, but she didn't have the dressage in her like my Terragon. Her name was Lady Grey but we decided to just call her Lady.

"She moves amazingly!" Tris said.

"What you doing here?" I smiled and lead Lady towards him and he came into the arena.

"Well, it's a long story, practically I saw the trailer so yeah, I had to inspect it!" He said and stroked Lady's nose.

"Hey, you're a good rider wright?" I asked him.

"I guess..." He shrugged. Without asking I lead out Lady to the stable where Terragon was.

"What you doing?" Tris's asked puzzled and I handed him tack.

"We are going for a ride!" I told him and went into Terragon's stable to get him ready.

"Seriously?" Tris asked.

"Yup!" I replied.

It didn't take us long to tack up and I gave Tris a spare riding helmet and a whip, tho I was sure that he wouldn't need it.

"The boys will wonder where I am," he said as we rode down my drive.

"Text them! I text Lizzie saying I was going for a ride!" I rolled my eyes.

We rode around the outskirts of Bournemouth before we were at a big field.

"Ready?" I asked Tris and he nodded.
We both kicked on and had the horses in a steady gallop. Tris was a good rider. He held his position well. We came to the end of the field and slowed down to a trot through the woods.

"Thanks Maggie," he said as we were just walking now letting the horses calm down and heading back towards mine.

"What for?" I asked.

"This," he said and patted Lady's neck.

"Oh wright, no worries, I'm happy not to ride out alone, and Terragon needed a run so..." I said as we turned into my drive where the boys along with Lizzie were.

"Had a nice ride?" Connor raised his eye brow.

"Yeah actually!" Tris stuck his tongue out at him as we both dismounted and led the horses to the stables where we untacked. We then let the horses into the field and went back down.
