My mom was already back from work when we got home.

"Where have you two been?" She asked.

"Ice cream," My dad said.

"Really?"

"Yup," I nodded.

"Oh Ameerah, Megan called," My mom told me.

"Oh," I said uninterested.

"She seemed kind of upset, maybe you should call her back,"

"Yeah, later," I said switching on the TV.

"Okay," My mom said confused.

The weekend past so quickly it wasn't even funny, I mean seriously, they should make school two days a week and the weekend five days a week, it just makes more sense that way.

Jedayel was already there when I reached my locker.

"Sup Meerkat," He grinned, it was this nickname he'd made up ages ago when we were like six or something, when I used to call him Jedi from star wars.

"Hey Jedi,"

Ok so my initial plan was ignore Megan as soon as she walked in through those school doors but now I realised that wouldn't work because her locker was right next to mine.. Isn't that great.

"Ameerah can you just hear me out for a second?" She said desperately.

"Oh sure, go ahead, find a good excuse for dating the guy who harasses her day and night," Jedayel rolled his eyes.

"You stay out of this," She quavered.

"Hey! At least he isn't the one who dated Rob!," I said roughly.

"I know but-" She sighed, I cut the rest of her sentence off by opening my locker door to block her face.

"The football team is up!" Jedayel exclaimed, he was the sporty type of guy and tried out for the football team last week, he was so eager to make the team.

"Go check it out!"

"You sure you'll be ok with.. her?" He muttered.

"Sure thing," I said, "I'll see you in class,"

"ok," he said and went towards the huge crowd by the bulletin.

"Ameerah look, no guy has ever asked me out before - I just got over excited, I didn't know what to do," Megan said.

"Oh ok, so you wanted your first date to be with Rob, that's cool."

"Ameerah you don't know how it is, I wasn't thinking straight - I wasn't thinking at all."

I didn't say anything. *Silence*....

"Ameerah, I am so, so sorry," She said softly, "I'll break up with him I swear.. I made a mistake, but I don't want it to cost me my bestest friend in the whole world."

Ok so what I was going to do was blow her off completely but when she said the last bit I couldn't help but forgive her.

"It's cool Meg," I smiled.

She hugged me so tight I could barely breathe.

"You know what Ameerah, a public break up will humiliate him so bad, he won't say anything ever again!"
