We continued onward for another ten minutes eventually coming to a cave sealed off with chains, and talismans, and what looked like a black mist contained in the archway.

As we approached the entrance a message appeared

Xuelian and I looked at each other. This must be it the first major boss.

"You concerned?" I asked Xuelian.

She shook her head, "we'll win no problem."

"Yeah..." Somehow, I couldn't feel as optimistic.

Like a small whisper in the back of my mind I heard Ye-Suel's voice, 'Someone like you doesn't deserve to be with Xuelian,'

As much as I wanted to shake it off, I couldn't deep down I could feel it. Why must I always feel like this.
