Chapter 220: Failure

The fight instantly turned hectic. Between trying to slay the monsters that were breaking down the doors and defend ourselves from the monsters that attacked us, we took considerable amounts of damage.

There were a few close calls but wasn't much we couldn't handle.

Wave after wave of monsters appeared and if we didn't take them down quickly more monsters would appear and overrun us.

Soon enough that's just what happened, we were pushed into a corner unable to fully fend off the attacks. Our «health» was dwindling, and we were about to be taken out when a [kobold] broken through a door and emerged dragging out an «NPC».

There was little we could do but watch helplessly as the [kobolds] jumped the «NPC».

We couldn't see what happened, but suddenly everything turned black, I could no longer see anything; the town, Xuelian, nor the hand of my «avatar» in front of my face even though I felt that I was looking right at it.

When my vision returned to normal, we were standing outside the town and received a prompt saying, {Quest failed - deduction: 1 Soul Point.}

No way that wasn't possible.
